The Yandere Darkling

Fire rained down, crashing upon the guilty and the soon to be guilty. Every single one of them, man, woman or child, will die for their sins and the sins they are yet to commit. They have angered the heavens, and this is only one mercy I can give them.

At least, if they die by my hand, I can safely deliver their souls myself.

I own it to them, for all the wonderful memories they’ve given me.

With another wave of fire, I drop down from my cloud. The biggest fireball reduces my temple to rubble. Even the children helped built it, all because they loved me, I could perch there and listen to all the wonderful tales the mortals told. Even if they sometimes lied and told untruths, the stories were so full of life and mystery, sometimes battles and death, sometimes lust, many times romance.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

The second building exploded, and the screams of their elders bore into my skull. One of them, Kai, often visited. His eyes always grew as big as an orange when he laid his eyes upon me. I liked to sneak up behind him and tap his shoulder. He was always so jumpy, it made me laugh.

The third building shattered my heart and I couldn’t feel anything anymore. It was where all the children were brought to hide, to escape and be safe.

It didn’t matter where they hid or stayed, I knew everything about them, even the things they didn’t tell me.

I dropped to the ground and my landing shook the earth. The rest of their structures collapsed, having never experienced such a powerful quake. My umbrella flared with a flick of my wrist, and the horizon engulfed in massive flames. I brought it down and around, dancing like I used to do for them. Only this time, they turned to ash.
