Pedlar of Another World - Chapter 16

[Auctioned one of my Ingots, Contributions?]

"I have enough for a Small Night Glowing Crystal," I replied the senior. As he heard my answer, his brightened eyes turned slightly sour, but it got back to normal in seconds. "Well, it is hard to get a good amount of the sand anyway... It already lucky you manage to get enough to refine one. Since you treat me the Dried Meat Jerky, I will treat this as returning a favour I guess, so listen well."

"Many people wouldn't know too much about it apart from blacksmith that got benefit from it. The Night Copper Dust is one of the material that could only be revealed by mixing 1000 units of the stone powder with a single Small Night Glowing Crystal during your milling process. If you did not mix them before milling, the Night Copper Dust will not appear in the milled stone powder."

"That's is because, after the milling, you will need to sieve the useless powder away, leaving only the fine glowing ore dust within the sieve. Only by this way, you could have some results when sieving to get some Night Copper Dist. If you don't follow this method, you will end with working out for nothing."

"Then, how if we are using the Medium Night Glowing Crystal instead? It would work better right?" I said, but the moment the senior heard my words, he shakes his head left and right, and answer to my questions. "Kid, you are quite fresh, so you might have no idea. Let me ask you... Can you imagine the total number of Night Glowing Sand one could find on a trip to the Night Glowing Cave?"

"Additionally, one will need to start mining the rocks within and bring them out to be able to start milling the rocks into powder, along with a Small Night Glowing Crystal every time, for a chance to obtain a small amount of Night Copper Dust. This is the initial and easiest way to obtain the Night Copper Dust before you will proceed to another stage."

"The next stage is when you want to refine the Night Copper Ingot into Night Copper Bar. Five Night Copper Ingots with a single Medium Night Glowing Crystal grounded into powder is required when one refine it into a single Night Copper Bar. Although the success rate is neither high or low but thinks about this matter more."

"If there already lack the most basic resources to be able to obtain the Night Copper Dust, will there be a need to further looks for the Night Glowing Stone? This is also why the initial price for the Small Night Glowing Crystal cost 10 Black Spirit Crystals each. Compared to the Medium Night Glowing Crystal that only cost 50 Black Spirit Crystal each."

"If there is anyone asking you to sell them your Small Night Glowing Crystals, do not agree even its priced at fifteen Black Spirit Crystals each. You will need to keep it if you have the intention to make some money through refining some Night Copper Ingots." the senior explains the reason behind the big differences in the price of the materials, and why would they be in such a difference.

After getting quite a clear understanding from the senior, he left and leaving me alone to slowly digest all the information he shared. I pretend to be confused, but in fact, I am not as confused as he thought. But I have no choice to pretend for a little, as it would be that good to reveal my possession of more than six hundred of the Night Glowing Sands and two hundred Night Glowing Stones.

As the time is getting late, more blacksmith started to return to their home, leaving only a few still remain within the workshop's Working Station. Seeing the opportunity finally arrived, I withdraw 100 Night Glowing Sands to secretly refine into a small piece of jewel, about a size of a chicken egg. Thinking about the chicken egg, I wonder do they have chicken here? They have buns and bread, but I'm not sure about anything like cow and sheep.

One after another, I refine all six set of Night Glowing Sands to Six beautiful Greenish glowing Crystals in the size of an egg. In secret, I hide them with the stack of a thousand rocks and pebbles from the cave and put into the Millstone as I start the machinery. The rocks and pebbles quickly got feathered and cracked evenly within the runner stone, and became powder minutes.

The grounded powder quickly channels out from the running stone and collected into a huge sack. I continue with the remaining five pack and quickly came with a result of six sack as I went over to the sieving area. The moment I start sieving, some faint greenish glowing dust slowly formed on a layer of the sieve, indicating that the layer of the sieve is where all the Night Copper Dust is contained.

After sieving all six full sack of powder to separate the Copper Dust from it, I finally managed to get about six hundred twenty grams of Night Copper Dust, as I collect all the remaining powder and get away. I went to the smelting area and starts to distribute Six portion of 100gm Night Copper Dust melts them to form six ingots.

Finally, after all my work is completed, I relaxed for a moment, before I looked at my Status Panel. Although no skills had level up, all the skill are advancing healthily depending on my activities. Although I felt that continues to harvest for more crystals would benefit me, but for now, earning some money is equally important.

Since I have no other choice, I went straight to the counter lady and asked her a few questions. "This sister, can I get the help from the Blacksmithing Workshop to auction a few items?" I asked politely as she turned around and look at me patiently before she continued. "To request for Blacksmithing Workshop assistance in auctioning an item will cost 20 Black Spirit Crystals if the item is below 500 Black Spirit Crystals when sold. The rates will double it up if your treasure could reach a higher price."

I withdraw six Night Copper Ingots and placed it on the table and asked. "Can I auction all six of the Ingots?" but the moment she heard my words, she smiled and push five back to me. "Keep it, the Ingots is quite expensive. Unfortunately, you're only a Lower Grade 10 Member. To auction six units of ingots within the auction required you to be at least Lower Grade 9 Member rank. For now, I can only accept one ingot from you to auction. Do you want to proceed?"

"Yes please," I told her to go ahead and kept the remaining ingots before I get ready to leave. "Little brother, please wait," she called me again. "Yes?" I answer in a very simple way. "Since you have a Blacksmith Card in your inventory, why not try to contribute to the Workshop to get some points you can exchange for benefits?"

Oh? What would be available to choose from the benefits? Hearing what she just said make me have quite an anticipation on what she will tell me next. "It depends, but if you could get 1000 points and above, those benefits would be even greater. In an example, 1000 Points allow you to rent a portable Blacksmithing Station for a six-month duration."

"Portable Blacksmithing Station?" I asked. She then continued. "The Portable Blacksmithing Station is a specially refined working station with abilities similar to the compartment bag we all using. Although its size is smaller than most of that machinery within the Workshop, in truth, their capability is almost similar, or even better."

"Big sister, what kind of contribution the Workshop required then?" I asked, although I roughly know that it would be those little works I am usually doing for myself. Then, she turned around to her left side and pointed at a huge board with at least thousand of papers attached to it. "Those paper there is what the workshop required. The Blacksmithing Workshop operation method is different compared to those from other workshops."

"Here, we have a huge demand on raw and refined materials, no matter what kind because, in blacksmithing, everything created by the world is used to craft something. This is why we have such a huge demand for any kind of materials. Some adventurer, fighter, guards would even come to help in all these requests, in order to obtain some of the rewards as well."

After receiving all the explanations, I walked over to the board to have a look on what kind of request they have. I immediately stumble across one paper with the demand pretty much fit my requirements.

Job Description:

Assisting in Mining Operation (Ling Hun Ore Cave)

Job Duration:

One full day / Ten carts of mining rocks.

Pay:

5 Black Spirit Coins (For others)

10 Blacksmithing Points (Blacksmith Only)

Seems like this job is quite good for me, because my skill in mining and also the quality of my Pickaxe is quite good. I took the paper out from the board and went directly to the Ling Hun Ore Cave to report myself on taking in this request. Within the cave, I managed to meet with five more miners that accepted the same request like I do.

"Alright, seems like our men had finally gathered here. Listen well, I will only explain once!"

Seems like my request is not going to be an easy one.
