MY DAY IN RENWAY!
!IT'S DUE TOMORROW!
Hi Notebook! Today was sooo much fun! I woke up really early, even before the sun was up! Renway was still all sleepy, but I wasn’t! I was too excited! Our town is small, but I like it. The streets are all made of little stones, and sometimes I like to hop from one to the other. It’s a game I play by myself, it's fun! The air smelled like bread this morning because the bakery was already working. I wish I could have bread every morning! Maybe Baker Alex will deliver a fresh batch to the orphanage? I'll ask him later, he likes it when I mention Nina.
When I went downstairs, Nun Nina was already there, just like always. She was helping the smaller ones get their breakfast. She’s so nice and always makes sure we have everything we need. Nina is like a real mommy to all of us, even though she’s not reeaally my mom. I love talking to her more than playing with the other kids. They like running around and playing loud games, but I’d rather talk to Nina. She always listens to me, even when I ask lots of questions.
After breakfast, I went to see Priest Jamesson at the church. It’s right next door, so I can go there whenever I want. He’s always busy with his big books and prayers to visitors, but he lets me sit with him. He tells me all about the Voice and how it guides people and how it's his job to 'reassure the flock', I don’t always get it, but I like listening. It makes me feel important, like I’m learning something really special when he talks.
Guess what? Doctor Melora came today! She comes every week to make sure we’re all healthy. She has the prettiest hair, it’s all brown and shiny, and she wears it in a braid. Her eyes are so cool, like they’re blue and gold at the same time! Apparently all Doctors have that eye colour, Melora says its so she can see whether anything is wrong with us. She checked everyone today, and I got to talk to her a little bit. She’s super smart and always tells me how things work, like why we need to drink yucky medicine when we’re sick. She’s really nice and never talks to me like I’m just a kid. I like that.

Then it was time for classes with Teacher Caldrin! He’s the best teacher ever! He has a big silver beard, and his robes have all these pretty patterns on them. His eyes are blue and sparkle when he talks about cool stuff like history and math. Today, we learned about why the Elves and Dwarves live so far away. It’s so interesting! I always listen really carefully because I want to be the best in my year. Teacher Caldrin says I’m really good at using punctuations, whatever those are, and that’s impressive for a 4 year old! He says it's because I read a bunch and learn. Teacher Caldrin is going to be taking the Master exam soon, he says it's for teachers who have mastered a subject, his is history.
After class, I used some of my pocket money to go to the library. I LOVE the library! It’s full of books, and I could stay there forever. I rented some new books today, mostly ones that help with my lessons, but I also got a storybook because it looked really fun! it's about a dragon falling in love with a princess. The librarian, Mara, is an Elf with the prettiest jade-green eyes, she says mine are nicer but I think hers look prettier. She has blonde hair that she wears in a loose bun, with little pieces covering her face when she's tired. She knows me now and always gives me a big smile when I come in. I think she’s happy that I like to read so much. Mara always helps me find the best books, and she’s so nice.
Even though I don’t really play with the other kids, I’m not lonely. I have Nina, Priest Jamesson, Baker Alex, Doctor Melora, Librarian Mara and Master Caldrin to talk to. They always make me feel special, like I’m doing something good by learning so much. I can’t wait to find out what my class will be! I hope it’s something really smart, like a Witch or something even cooler! I bet I’ll be the best at it!
Okay, that’s all for today! I’m going to read my new books now and maybe ask Nina some more questions. I can’t wait to see my marks for the homework!
