I could now see its teeth and my o my, I was in real trouble.
15 Minutes later, no one moved.
I could feel the wet floor beneath me however I don’t think it was mine. To be honest I was scared but at the same time I knew it was a game and so I could not believe I did that. The stench of blood filled the space I was in.
So I got tired of waiting so I punched the bears mouth, so that the bear would finish me already. The only difference now, was that the mouth closed and the bear didn’t move. I then smelled my hand that smelled like blood. I carefully went around the bear and slightly touched under its right legs trying to feel for anything such as a heart.
I could still feel it beating ever so slowly. I then continued towards the exit that was now blocked completely by the mined fractions of the stone. Seems like the bear ended up helping me out without even knowing about it.
I was digging my way out now and noticed that there was nearly 1 meter of this rubble. The most peculiar thing was that there were absolutely no dust particles in the air. Two theories for that either the material was really heave in its composition or it stuck together like some type of magnet. Either way it is a fantasy game with many physics involved.
I had to dig roughly 2 meters of the debris that I carefully transported and filled the space around the bear. I only dug enough for me to squeeze out of the tunnel and when I finally got to the tree I could hear a beautiful voice singing and to that tune I fell asleep near the tree, since I logged out.
When I came out of my room in the real world I could still see everyone still in the sleeping positions. So I entered busted out the all-new cell phone that was like telepathy to me. I called a pizza delivery with some sandwiches and drinks. I then went out side to check on the crops that we grew around the building. There were too many and I don’t want to name every single one.
It was my first time ordering a delivery of pizza but I always saw it happen in cartoons and other movies so I tried it. Within 10 minutes the deliveryman arrived and seemed like he was ready to deliver 5 minutes ago just could not find our particular address. When he came I even paid him a bigger tip then he usually received from the other places and he was really happy to see so much cash being paid. Usually it was through the card or some other device.
As I was walking in to our Home (warehouse) with the delivery man carrying 10 pizzas each, which weren’t all that I ordered. I had ordered 30 pizzas for each of the people that I was living with.
I then took a pan and started bashing it together hopefully they can hear within their game. It seemed to work as each and everyone began to stand up. To the aroma of the food, which was indeed mouth watering.
The conversations started between everyone and then Grandpa Jo spoke up.
Grandpa Jo: Hey Zen, would you like to know our in game names?
Zen: Sure what is it?
They all said in Unison as if they practiced it years and years to get it right.
Group said: “We live; we love, and we dream. We fight to protect our lives; we fight to protect our love and fight to protect our dream. Call us Bellator 1, 2, 3, 4, …. > 29.
Notification
Would you like to add these 29 people in too your friends list?
Zen: Yes. Got to say. Wow you guys practiced.
Grandpa Jo: Off course.
Zen: What’s Bellator?
Grandpa Jo: I knew this word and it stuck with me since childhood and it was once said to be a Latin word for Warrior/ Fighter.
Zen: Are you guys perhaps in the same place?
Grandpa Jo: When we got to the location selection part of creating the characters I logged out to see that everyone else also logged out to ask the same exact question. Where to start? As it would have it everyone was given the three choices and only one of those choices happened to be available for everyone one. Kingdom of Argos.
Zen: My, my, my. So what are you all doing now?
Grandpa Jo: We spread out for the moment everyone wanted to do something peculiar on their own and when the 60 hours are up we are going to meet and decide. We still have like 10 min in game before the time runs out. What are you doing in the game my boy?
Zen: Don’t laugh but I am stuck with a bear in a cavern. That bear has been pounding on me for the nearly 40 game hours.
Everyone in the room roared in a laughter as if saying they were jealous.
Grandpa Jo: That right my boy, do thing you can’t in real life. I won’t be amazed if you survive somehow, now that your protection is off.
Zen: I am sure to find a way.
Grandpa Jo: So when you going back in?
Zen: Probably in an hour or so. I need to do some work on the roof. So that it doesn’t leak during the coming winter.
1 hour later I was went back in to the game.
I found my self in the same position and even though the singing has stopped I could hear a fire crackling beyond the fallen tree.
Zen: Hey! Amelia!
Amelia: WHOOOOAAH. Don’t scare me like that.
Zen: Can you help me make a hole in the ground around the tree since it will be more troublesome to cut the tree?
Amelia: Sure right away.
30 minutes later I had a tunnel leading to the bear. When I got out. She asked me how many levels I got from killing it. When I told her that the bear was still alive however he was unconscious. She freaked and said we should kill it and I said that it was my choice since I had suffered the most.
Amelia: What are you going to do now?
Zen: I want to heal it.
Amelia: Are you crazy?
Zen: I was stuck in there for my last 45 minutes of protection and even after the protection it was gone it stopped attacking me.
Amelia: That’s because the hunger affects animals too. He no longer could concentrate and even probably passed out due to blood loss and hunger.
Zen: I don’t know if anyone ever tried to tame a bear of that degree before. However I want to try.
Amelia: Yes there are beast tamers around there and I have played this game for couple years to know that not one ever tamed a beast that was even 20 levels higher then the one self. I assure you that since I am at level 37. Its level and info still showed up as “??????”. That’s why I know it has to be atleast 50 levels higher then mine. Other wise I would be able to tell its level at least.
Zen: Do you have a potion I could borrow?
Amelia: Well you did help me and so I will give you a potion of your choice. But know this we are even after this.
Zen: Ok. Deal. Do you have a potion that can heal critical and internal wounds?
Amelia: I see that you don’t know anything about potions but yes I have a potion that would do that however it wont restore much health you ok with that?
Zen: Yes I am.
I hence got the potion and then crawled back in through the skinny tunnel that could accommodate me but since the bear was nearly 3 times my size it was impossible for it to go through, unless it digs its self out. I could see that the bear’s legs gave way and he collapsed down to the grown and was lying on the ground. I could somehow readjust quickly to the darkness an see bits and pieces.
The bear was still unconscious and made it easier to open its mouth. I then prepared my self to run, depending on how fast this potion would work. I poured the vial of the potion in to its mouth and was about to bolt when I noticed that the liquid was only slowly being drained in to its mouth. So I held its mouth until the entire mouth was clear of the healing liquid and so I made my way outside.
Amelia: Is it still alive?
Zen: Oops I forgot to check.
Amelia: You’re an Idiot. What if you wasted that potion on a dead animal, ha?
Zen: How soon will we know?
Amelia: it should wake up within a few hours. Since being in the unconscious state within this game counts like sleeping thus you do gain some health.
Zen: The perhaps I should start on part two of taming the beast.
Amelia: You know how too?
Zen: No but if I perhaps feed it, will it become tamed.
Amelia: Ok that might do it but to be honest it sometimes takes months even for tamers. They also say that a window will pop up displaying that the beast accepted you either as a master, companion or something else like an Overlord of sort.
Zen: There are overlords?
Amelia: Only one and his always on the news, but even his animals are no more then 10 higher then he.
Zen: Ok I better get to some food gathering.
Amelia: There are apples other on that tree.
Zen: I need meat in order to feed the bear.
Amelia: Well then try catching a rabbit or a couple of the squirrels. Good luck though. I wasn’t even able to catch one.
To my surprise all of my clothes seemed not to be torn at all. Seems like they too were part of the NoobSter protection. I gathered some of the vines of the fallen yew like tree.
Then next 2 hours I walked around finding different types of holes in the ground and tree trunks and placed snares that were very simply made. The concept was like in hangman where if something was caught on to it and dragged it would enclose chocking its victim.
After setting 10 of them, I went back and ate some apples. 2 hours later I heard a squirming in the forest and ran over to see that its leg caught a rabbit. I rushed over using my dagger I stabbed it to the area where its heart was supposedly be at. I happened to be close enough to cause major bleeding and it died within a minute.
I took the rabbit back to the fire and skinned it while Amelia looked at me amazed.
Amelia: What level are you and what are you doing in these woods?
Zen: I started here of course. It happened that the starting platform appeared over this mountain. Somehow I fell towards this side rather then the other side.
Amelia: Didn’t it have an invisible shield, to prevent that?
Zen: When I was choosing my location. It seemed to disappear and I could feel the breeze so I jumped of instead of choosing a location and the time I jumped of the shield was no longer there.
Amelia: I have heard that you could start like that but didn’t meet anyone who did it until you came along.
Zen: I liked the scenery and it seemed fun to experience the fall, which I know I won’t be able to experience that type of fall anytime in the future.
This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source.
Amelia: So true. There isn’t that many people who would even climb such a peak. Even further fall from it on purpose.
Zen: I am going to go dropped this off in front of the bears nose.
As I headed in to cave while pushing the rabbit ahead of me I crawled in. The bear groaning could be heard slightly. I then went to the bear and saw that there was now a slight puddle where he lay. I smelled it and it didn’t smell like manure or even blood and it had a slight warm feeling when I touched it. After placing the meat right in front of the bears nose I tried to track where the water was coming from.
I could slightly see the much better then before even within this pitch black darkness and so I relied on my sense of touch to tell where it was coming from since I could still not see well enough to tell.
After an hour of touching all over the small cavern I noticed that it was seeping through the cracks in the solid wall. I took out my pickax and started to mine that area. With my renewed strength I was able to chip it away slowly.
1 hour later I was able to make a one two foot hole in width and about ¾ of a foot deep.
With another strike a sudden poor of water rushed out. It was warm at first but as more came in I realized it was getting hotter and hotter. I really got worried that I might become an ingredient in this type of soup. So I was about to leave the cave when finally I noticed the monstrous bear standing right before me.
Yes I was attacked the bear regained some of his strength charged at me.
This time his charge completely connected because it was a surprise attack and I heard and felt every bone in my body break. I was just waiting for the message that would say. You’re dead or something. Nothing like that came. I must of completely turned off the notification system so it probably would not come up either way.
The bear then noticed that the water pouring out was indeed very hot and if someone could move would not sit in it willingly. Hence I could not move and now the pouring water was going at such a speed that it flooded the cave to about one ¾ of a foot. Only my mouth was over the water. Even that didn’t last long and I was completely submerged. Do to the sudden charge and breaking of the bones I could not feel the hotness of the water. Only after about 1 minute of holding my breath, I gave up and took in the water only to find a more excruciating pain.
It burned my insides and this hurt more then the bones breaking. I was in such a pain that I passed out. Perhaps it’s a system safety mechanism. I then tried to log out.
Noticication!!!
You are able to log out however when you log back in you will be in the same state you log out.
Zen: Cancel log out.
Log Out Cancled
I thought it was better to get this over with now then later, since I am going to die any minute.
Death never came and I just lay there for another hour. Only then did my eyes started to open. I was still lying in that water although I could see the inside of the cave better. I saw that the rocks around me became extremely red. Since I still could not move I only noticed that instead of breathing in air I was inhaling burning water. What could this mean I wonder?
Another hour passed and I was finally able to move so I pulled my self in to a sitting position to understand what was going on. I saw the bear had pulled some of the mined rocks to make him self a platform. It seems the water raise only to a level of about 1.5 feet. I then immediately noticed that I actually saw the cave and how it looked inside. The bright red rocks all around shone bright enough to tell me that I was sitting in water that was actually really boiling. Even the bear was afraid of it. Perhaps its because his health was low.
I then looked at my skin. I thought perhaps it was also shining like the other rocks. However it was the same as before. To experiment further I placed my head in the water and tried to breath and without any difficult or choking. Was this really water then? If it was then it wouldn’t be boiling and probably just evaporate completely after a while. Then the rocks became red that was odd since it’s usually the opposite. I came to one conclusion that this liquid was hot enough to make these rocks glow bright red probably hot. However I could not feel the heat. This liquid was also not even evaporating which was another fact. I lay back in to the liquid and logged out.
While being logged out I checked online if there were anything anyone knew about this. To my disappointment no one mentioned an occurrence such as this. Thus I decided to keep it a secret. I suffered too much to receive this type of knowledge.
Some people wanted to be rich and so forth. However my extended family and me had one thing in common. We liked our current lives and thus never sold our food products, however we did give to the starving families. Since we had an abundance of food.
After pondering for a few minutes I decided that I should log back in and continue with taming the beast. Since I now had some hot liquid on my side that could help me out with it. Then again if the bear gets used to it I might be in trouble. There was no way I could tell how this liquid affected me. Other then if I asked Amelia to suffer the same scenario only to find out that she is money hungry person who will sell this new found knowledge for a quick buck like I first did with the knowledge of metal. Though I can justify my cause since it was for the better of the community. What if she is in the same position I was?
What ever happens it will be up to her.
I hence found my self again under the water without having difficulty to breath. I then made my way to my small tunnel and luckily the bear build his little platform that barely kept him off the water and in a corner. I easily got to my tunnel that led me outside and I was out.
Another interesting fact I noticed as soon as I stepped out. I was completely dry as if my body absorbed every single drop of that liquid.
Amelia: From the noises I heard. I thought that you died.
Zen: I was seconds way from dying.
Amelia: Don’t believe you. You know why?
Zen: Why?
Amelia: I heard you got crushed from the sounds of it the bear did that right?
Zen: Yes that right.
Amelia: You had no more potions so you shouldn’t even be walking. Remember when I was unconscious? I was in that state for nearly 4-5 hours and you are saying that you were crushed, and even a few hours later your not only not unconscious your, also walking around as if you had a miracle potion.
Zen: I guess I could call it a miracle potion then. :D (grinning)
Amelia: So what really happened ah?
Zen: I don’t know I can’t see my stats yet. However I was wondering if you would like to find out using your stats.
Amelia: NO!!!
Zen: Please. I can tell you. You wont regret it. However it will be painful for a few minutes and then it will no longer affect you.
Amelia had a pale face when she asked. “Affect me? What affect me?”
Zen: Ok so I will tell you. However you have to give me your word that you won’t tell anyone about this.
Amelia: Deal.
That is when I told her the story. After that I ate some apples and it seemed she was still processing what happened.
Amelia: I have an idea. Perhaps you do not know this about me but I am focusing mainly on alchemy and herbalism. So help me make a specific potion that take of the pain level 75%. Only then will I try it. Since from your story it sounds the liquid really is boiling. With this potion it will make it feel just like hot water instead of boiling water.
Zen: Sure what do you need?
She told me what to look for and mainly the list consisted of different types of roots and even some mushrooms. Perhaps it put on in a high state where they felt nearly nothing. In 3 hours the potion was ready. It only had one dose since the ingredients that were used were hard to find.
We then agreed that she would drink it while being inside the cavern. I made my way first to make sure everything was still in place and as I made out of my tunnel I could clearly see the bright red glow inside the cave. The bear didn’t mind me at all, as if I was some insignificant squirrel. Then after me came Amelia. She saw that the entire cave was lit up like a red Christmas bulb and as she was about to step out. I stopped her and said she should drink the potion before getting in to the liquid. She did just that. Waited a minute or two then slowly stepped in, in to the water. I could see she was no longer smiling and trying to hold it in.
Amelia: AAAAAAAAAAA.
The bear was startle from the scream and refocused tried to attack us. He was able to hit Amelia and me hard enough to send us flying in the cave until we hit the wall and fell down. Somehow I ended up on top of Amelia not being able to move a muscle. We both fell unconscious in a few seconds. When I regained my consciousness first I slightly mustered my strength and slipped of Amelia before she woke up, although I was too late. Her eyes blazing red looked at me. It wasn’t from the water but from the look as I noticed where my hands were resting, on very soft mountaintops.
I tired to move more but couldn’t. Even my hands were broken. That is how we lay for about an hour. Until she was first able to move and pushed me off and then started pummeling me with her fists.
Amelia: Pervert, pervert, pervert, pervert, pervert, pervert, pervert, pervert, pervert
Zen: I am sorry it wasn’t intentional.
Until now we were not able to talk since both of our mouths were completely submerged.
1 hour passed by since the fight and I recovered again. Sat up an enjoyed the still warm liquid that I was feeling.
Amelia: I am sorry for over reacting earlier. I know it wasn’t your intention please forgive me.
Zen: I was at fault too. I am sorry.
Amelia: Any way it’s over what ever happened. Happened. Share info window with Zen, regarding this liquid.
