In the morning, as the golden winter sun peeked through the window, Dr. Mitchell blinked open his sky-colored eyes to see the love of Kuzih awake and scanning the room, relaxed and at ease.
Sitting up quickly, throwing the thick blanket off him, the doctor met the gaze of the woman. “Are you feeling better, miss?” he asked, a gleeful smile crossing his lips.
Her voice was shaky as she responded. “I… I am better, I think.”
“My name is Timothy Mitchell, the doctor over in Nome,” the elderly physician introduced himself, getting up to approach the couple. He patted Mr. Nadene on the shoulder with some force, jolting him awake.

Dr. Mitchell let out a hearty laugh. “It’s going to be alright, Mr. Nadene. Your wife made it through the night; I think she will make a full recovery.”
Kuzih kissed his wife, tears welling up in his eyes, dripping down onto her face. “I love you,” he whispered.
“I love you… too,” she replied, raising a trembling hand to her beloved husband’s face.
Kuzih, after sharing a moment with his love, turned to the doctor. “Thank you… thank you, Dr. Mitchell. I don’t know how to repay you.”
Timothy gave the brave young man a hug, and then rested his hands on Kuzih’s shoulders. “What you can do for me is give thanks to the Father for all the wonderful things He has done,” he beamed. “He is the Great Physician, after all.”
Kuzih smiled brightly, and nodded. “I shall thank Him all the days of my life, for His mercy and for you.”
