And so the old man just stood there looking at him. Katsu looked back staring blankly while Leona was fidgeting uncomfortably in the back.
"Pfft the look on your face is hilarious my dear student."
"huh?"
"I honestly don't give a damn about what our who my granddaughter does after all, she's a grown woman now, but if you hurt her you will find that hell is a pretty homey place. Do you understand what it is that I'm saying? "
"Uhh, I hope so."
"Now then, I am however a bit irritated that you chose to fornicate with my granddaughter rather than doing what I told you to do. "
"What exactly was that?"
"I told you to go to the library and study up but what did you do? You went and banged my granddaughter without even studying and for that I am now going to punish you. "
With that said, he started flicking Katsu's forehead nonstop for fifteen minutes. By the time he was done, there were tears in Katsu's eyes and his forehead had a bright red mark right in its center.
"Goddammit old man you could have stopped at a billion or at least at the green minute mark. "
" I was at an uncomfortable time when I got to a billion and there was an awkward number at ten minutes. Anyways since at this point it'd be faster to just give you the knowledge here you go. "
With that Katsu saw the old headmaster place his palm on the red spot on his forehead before a mind splitting pain and started writhing in agony on the bed as information continuously appeared within his memories. Half an hour had passed before Katsu stopped with heavy breaths.
"That's actually pretty impressive kid, it only took you thirty minutes to process all the information that I just shoved into your head. Well now that that's over with, I'll let you rest for the day seeing as how we don't want you breaking now right? "
After Katsu's spams are over, Crom took his leave with Katsu's laying on the drenched bed.
'What a surprisingly earnest teacher, he actually stayed until I was done.'

With the new satiety system, you now require food and drink to survive. Your thirst has reached past 50%. This message will not be shown again
Seeing that Katsu took out his canteen and drank the entirety of its contents before letting out a satisfied sigh.
'Hmm it seems that I've woken up' (???)
'Who the hell are you?' (Katsu)
'Ah do forgive my rudeness we've only met briefly when you were born, my name is Alexander Colvin. I like to think of myself as an expert on magic and the other arcane arts.'
Alexander Colvin was a pale skinned man with raven black hair that was graying. He had blue eyes that did not seem to be natural. He was rather slim and had what seemed to be tribal tattoos scattered all over his body.
'What do you mean that you like to think of yourself as an expert on the arcane arts?'
'I don't realize what else you can get from my statement other than what I said but anyways the magic knowledge here is quite underdeveloped compared to that of my universe'
'Your universe? '
'Yes in my research I've found that there are what seems to be infinitely many universes in existence. For example your universe had magic but it was sent away quite a long time ago'
'What do you mean that my universe had magic? How was it sent away?'
'Your universe had magic but with it came magic creatures that were significantly more powerful than humans. As such we devised a way to send away the magic.'
'What did you mean by we?'
'In your universe, occasionally something is born with the ability to use magic, these things are generally more powerful in certain aspects compared to others. Many magic based houses were formed since it increased the likelihood of a child with the ability to use magic. Although humans were more adept at consciously using magic, beasts had more instinctive usages and were also generally stronger than humans. Of course there are always exceptions but generally humans were slaughtered by magical beasts. This lead to many magicians sending the magic in the universe out and with them the beasts but we either had to leave or lose most if not all of our magic. Many were split and so magic disappeared along with many knowledgeable people. Although I say that, magic still does exist there, just not quite like it used to be.'
'Wait so you're telling me that there are other universes out there? And that this game is also a universe?'
'Yes to both those questions. But anyways the magical knowledge here is quite lacking seeing as how this universe seems to be older than ours. Then again in our universe magic users were generally the minority and so magic progressed along with science and all that good stuff albeit a bit slower but with more insights as technology and science evolved.'
'So then how does this game work? How does it send people to this other universe?
“I can explain that.” said a man from nowhere. The man wore a black suit and had grey skin. His shaggy tyrian hair stopped above his eyes which seemed to be blue stars of sorts.
“Chaos? Heh, should’ve known it was you. This transcends the limits of magicians even during the peak of magic on Earth,” (Colvin)

“Hey Colvin, can I call you Colvin? Imma call you Colvin, who’s this?”(Katsu)
“This, dear boy is Chaos, you can basically consider him the actual God.”(Colvin)
“God as in the guy that made the universe and everything in it?”(Katsu)
“And then some.”(Chaos)
“Huh, I would’ve expected you to be more majestic.”(Katsu)
“What, maybe something like this?”(Chaos) As he said that the walls, ceiling, and floor blasted away and Katsu was surrounded by darkness until small bright light gradually got closer and bigger forming what seemed to be a gigantic body filled with stars and supernovas and lights of all kinds creating a dazzling display in front of Katsu.
“Yup this is majestic alright.”(Katsu)
“You’d probably like Cosmos then, since he typically takes a form similar to this when he goes into one of his universes. But yes, mass transportation of souls from one universe to another that doesn’t use a massive amount of energy or other form of payment, or rather any payment whatsoever is definitely not due to the likes of ordinary creations.”(Chaos)
“So what is the point of all this then?”(Katsu)
“Ultimately, entertainment. You see beings like me, reign supreme above all others. Unlike the biblical God, or Allah or Yahweh or the Greek Pantheon and etcetera, beings like me, Creators or True gods or whatever you want to call us, we don’t create because we have to or create because it is our duty. We create because we have no needs, we have no responsibilities, we only have power, time, and boredom. Thus we create worlds.Although we do have the ability to know what will happen most of the time, we generally choose not to because it is a form of entertainment akin to novels and films where we are entertained when we don’t know what will happen next and what choices the characters will make. There are many ways with which we can enjoy these things. Some choose to go and live in their creations other choose to directly manipulate. There are also others like me who prefer to set a template or create a character with which the story writes itself around, for example you. You are one of the few who I personally created. All those people and all that knowledge and information that is locked away inside of your very soul is because I wanted to see how entertaining it would be to put such things together and unleash it into the world. Now this situation isn’t because of me. The whole transportation into another universe thing is because I’m letting some game developer gods who are newbies mess around with some universes. What they do is up to them so best of luck Nathan, and Colvin, tell the others hi for me.” (Chaos)
“Sure thing Chaos, but do tell me this, why did you put the things you did into this child. There isn’t a pattern or anything we really have in common”(Colvin)
“Why? Well because you all were some of the most interesting ones in my omniverse. Although that young prince that was recently added wasn’t from me, I thought that if I integrated the souls completely into one, there’d be something interesting, and I was right. Also, Nathan, the pre-release trial run is over now, the beta reports from the testers are sent in and since you didn’t read the email that told you, here’s the news.”(Chaos)
With those parting words, Chaos dispersed into bright lights, which although beautiful, caused Katsu to shut his eyes. When he opened them, he only saw the ceiling of his room and the opened lid of the capsule.
‘Welp, there’s Chaos for you, coming inside whenever he damn pleases and pulling out whenever too.’(Barney)
‘You knew Chaos Barney?’(Nathan)
‘I’m pretty sure we all knew him even if we didn’t know that we knew him.’(Barney)
‘Anyways kid, you should hit the sack, you haven’t slept in three days.”(Haruto)
‘Yeah, fine whatever”(Nathan)
With that Nathan went to bed. *SMACK* A loud and painful slap sounded out on Nathan’s face as he awoke from his sleep.
“Alright kid, I’ve just realized that I’ve put nothing but techniques into that little head of yours, and so now I’m sending you off on an adventure to really learn. Have fun.” (Hanzo) and with that Hanzo tossed Nathan out of the plane that they were in.
“Wait what? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING YOU OLD BASTARD!!!!?!?!?!?!!??! AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!” (Nathan) Before a parachute deployed on his back.
What’s will happen to Nathan? What’s this about magic in the universe? Will everything that the exposition explained actually have any relevance to the plot? Find out on the next Paths of Destiny.

Right, so as you guys may or may not have noticed, I switched back to third person, sorry but I like the flow of 3rd person as compared to 1st so... Also sorry if my updates are sucky as real world stuff has been complicated and will likely remain complicated, but when is it not right? So while I will try to update as frequently as possible, don’t expect anything other than crap from me. Thanks for reading.
