After sending Dr. Ratine on his way, the strange man returned to Dr. Ratine’s former cell and… locked himself inside it?!!?
“Hello class 12s,” he said with a slight smile on his face.
“Hi?” Sally raised an eyebrow somewhat confused. “Who are you?”
“Torra,” he grinned, as if he was proud of it.
What the f***? The trio thought simultaneously.
“Why on earth did you put yourself behind the bars?” Old Wayfinder asked.
“It is meaningless to escape if I don’t do it in a style that will prove that I am truly Torra.”
“So… you released the dude that was mistakenly captured as you… and put yourself in prison… so you could escape in style?” Sally asked.
“Yes,” Torra nodded.
Sally turned to look at the old man and Old Wayfinder who were also a bit confused. This guy was so… extra?
…
After she was done savoring her Toblerone, Captain Wayfinder brought some over to the class 12s. Best to share it with those that helped her get it.
However when she walked into the class 12 area her eyes widened in shock as she stared at the unfamiliar face. Who? What? How? Where the hell was Dr. Ratine?!?!
“We finally meet, Captain Wayfinder,” the strange man said seriously, “I am Torra. The class 13 you’re chasing, Dr. Ratine really isn’t me. Like I told you on your computer after hacking into it.”
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
It seems like even the ever elusive Torra made mistakes like hiring bad actors to play him.
The people in class 10 and up all shared one trait, the ability to act normal. And the way this dude was acting all uptight, there was simply no way he was actually Torra. Dr. Ratine definitely fit the bill better.
Did he really think that escaping prison, putting someone random in his cell and having him claim that he was Torra was going to convince her that she got the wrong guy?
NO!
It convinced her that she had got the right one!
She swiped her card on the cell door and opened it.
“Ah, so you realize that the door is obsolete for me?” The strange man nodded in appreciation.
Captain Wayfinder walked up to him slowly. The two stood at the same height and she looked into his eyes. “Yeah, you’re just plain loony, not anything class 13 level.”
“What?”
“Oh, he didn’t tell you about the classes? That just proves you're not him even more. Come on, let’s go,” Captain Wayfinder firmly gripped him by his arm and dragged him out.
Class 12s: ???
Torra: ???
What the f***? The four of them thought simultaneously.
However, without revealing his surprise on his face, Torra turned his head to look at the class 12s and… winked.
So that was his escape plan? Realization dawned on the class 12s.
Arresting himself so that everyone will think he’s a fake! This is true genius!
If a normal person did that, the fake wouldn't be let out and would probably be heavily questioned. Since Torra is a class 13 though, Captain Wayfinder thinks that interviewing the "fake" will prove meaningless so she isn't even bothering to look up his identity and just assuming he's an actor!
…
Perched on my branch, for the first time in a long time, I was worried. I had no idea who this imposter was!
At that moment, the road to Parrotise got a lot more complicated. This person was almost definitely another like me… a class 13!
