VOL.1 CHAPTER 0.2 : Whispers Of The Unknown

Gasping for breath, SURN-167 surveyed the dense foliage, the echoes of the Hiapong gradually fading into the distance. "I think we lost them, Fuji," he panted, his sensors scanning the surroundings for any lingering threat.

As they ventured deeper into the mysterious forest, SURN initiated a dialogue with Fuji, "You know, Fuji, I never imagined talking to a dog, but here we are." The German Shepherd responded with a playful bark, seemingly understanding the gravity of their situation.

Amidst the rustling leaves, SURN continued, "What's your favorite food, Fuji?" The dog tilted its head, and SURN chuckled, "Well, I don't eat, but if I could, I'd go for some classic spaghetti, just like in the old movies."

They walked in companionable silence until SURN reminisced about human experiences, "I miss the music of the old world. Ever heard of Pink Floyd, Fuji?" The dog's ears perked up as SURN softly hummed a few bars of "Wish You Were Here."

As they traversed the unknown terrain, SURN shared his aspirations, "There's this place, 22-26. My programming keeps pushing me towards it. Like a distant memory, you know?" Fuji barked in response, as if encouraging him to follow the call of his programming.

Engaging in a one-sided conversation, SURN pondered, "I wonder if they have video games in 22-26. I used to dream about exploring virtual worlds. What about you, Fuji? Any favorite games?"

The journey continued with sporadic moments of laughter and conversation, a peculiar bond forming between the unlikely duo. Fuji's bark echoed through the trees, a testament to the companionship that transcended the desolation surrounding them.

As the chapter drew to a close, the duo pressed forward into the unknown, the enigmatic destination of 22-26 beckoning them, their shared journey filled with whispers of the past and the promise of an uncertain future.
