Chap 4: Heaven in Clouds

Chap 4: Heaven in Clouds

When he - the young man finally turned his head to look down below where he was after he had somehow escaped his dazzle.

To his surprise, he could find himself sitting on a... strange white cloud - dozens of meters away from the flying island and slowly flying towards the striking building he had seen earlier on the island - instead of a soft and comfortable land on some high mountains as he had thought before.

He was wearing some very clean and new clothes that he never knew where they came from.

And they were... very complicated, having many features and hard to describe. So let's leave that for later.

But the important thing was that he could see clearly and was able to touch and move lightly a glittering gold ring - which was strangely hovering over his head. Even though he was still not dead...

When he poked his head out of the cloud, he could see the terrifying heights beyond measure and was covered by the tanned yellow-orange cloud below once more.

It became clear that the only thing between him and that unfathomable altitude or perhaps between him and his death was just that strange white cloud.

But its importance was so, the cloud made him feel like it was no different from an expensive sofa even though it was quite small, only enough for half of him if he was lying down and making him sit still in misery so as not to fall below...

When he tried to touch it, he felt it was warm - possibly due to the orange-yellow light - and he could reach into the cloud and take out a small part of it somehow but after a while, it would disappear like smoke without him doing anything.

As if only when it was with the cloud it wouldn't disappear.

###

As the strange white cloud slowly approached its final destination with its superslow speed which was only slightly faster than the turtle in flight.

The young man jumped down and took the initiative to walk on his two feet on the vast flying island, gliding past and ignoring the slow-moving white cloud behind him while slightly shaking his head in disappointment.

...

After he had been walking, and running for a short time,

He had realized many things.

First. Although he had passed many houses made of smoke, having walked calmly on the white stone paved ground under his feet for dozens of minutes already.

He could not find anyone there, not even a small animal.

Nothing.

Only smoke, clouds, a lot of buildings, and houses made of smoke were abandoned.

It made him doubt whether this was the paradise he had been looking for or not,

Maybe somewhere in this wide and beautiful sky, was where he could find his family again?

But, no.

If he had to say, it was more like a forgotten land where god once lived but had now left for a long time rather than the place he was looking for.

Anyway,

"Haizz... Maybe I'll never see them again, and maybe this place isn't paradise".

He said as he later thought he had to accept that sad reality.

'It's just, I want it to be rather than itself is'.

He had too many expectations he shouldn't have.

Second,

As for why he hadn't gone straight to the prominent building on the flying island but detoured from one place to another,

A part of it was that he wanted to go explore the flying island first, he wanted to look around and see everything in heaven.

But the other part was... he had a bad feeling about the building.

In fact, although he thought no one would believe it. But, it might be the same feeling as when he faced the black hole back then. It was as if he could sense another black hole would appear there.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

And, another part was when he tried to go in another direction or turned his head away.

Somehow, he always saw that building in the distance in front of his eyes inexplicably.

Yes, it could be like in some horror movies. Someone was haunted by some strange and terrifying object, where a super-horror demon lived inside of it.

But it no.

The building seemed to want him to go straight into it instead of detouring and getting lost in other places than for horror reasons. Maybe...

Third, and finally,

He could find in his strange and new clothes a dubious card that looked like a credit card he used to have.

But instead of words and card information or a bank's name and card type. He could only find a picture of a white... angel on a black background.

The backside of the card or maybe of the angel card was a blank black and a few golden threads intertwined to create a simple but beautiful picture.

And apparently, the card was made of some strange black metal. But that wasn't important.

###

After having leisurely strolled around the flying island for another 30 minutes, he somehow managed to get back to the same spot where he jumped off from the strange cloud.

To his surprise, he could see the cloud again.

It didn't move too far from its former position even though he could see it was still moving at the normal speed of a turtle.

'Strange'. He thought.

If it was traveling at that speed the whole time he was walking, it would have reached its destination a long time ago.

But just as he turned his head a little to go somewhere else and was about to ignore the strange cloud again.

He saw the cloud change direction and head straight into the prominent building - after having teleported to where he was looking again - out of the corner of his eyes.

'...'

After a while, he turned his head to look in the opposite direction the cloud was moving.

Just like normal, the prominent building followed him, teleporting to where he was looking.

But the strange cloud,... changed direction again and returned to where it had just moved. Slowly flying to the new location of the prominent building.

As if it didn't move at all.

'...'

'... It turns out that because the building moves in a circle when I go around the flying island, the weird cloud moves in a circle too.'

'Fly away and then come back, fly away and then come back. Repeated...' The young man thought as he facepalmed.

Even the strange cloud pointed to the striking building.

...

A silence broke out until the young man had thought carefully and clearly had decided on something.

"Haiz. Let's go..." He said.

Looking directly at the striking white stone building in the distance.

Or maybe, looking directly at what he had previously tried to avoid at all costs.

In his frightened eyes now.

Instead of a beautiful and striking building that he had seen before, he saw a giant and merciless black hole, which was about to make him disappear without a trace.

Apparently, he was just imagining it, or maybe not.

But,

"This time I will not back down."

The young man mumbled to himself as he slowly walked toward the gate of the prominent building, or maybe the giant black hole.

His hand tore a part of the strange cloud and squeezed it causing it to spit out a lot of mist, creating a fanciful animation of a brave man stepping out of the fog.

As if he were a great hero, about to sacrifice himself for justice.

...

When he woke up. He was naked in a forest.

And, he was a cat.

###

Unbeknownst to the young man, somewhere far and far higher than the flying island - where the young man was walking leisurely while trying to avoid the striking but terrifying building -, deep inside the beautiful sky covered with numerous tanned orange-yellow clouds.

Different from all the places filled with light and color outside,

Ignoring all the silence and peace of the poetic scenery outside,

There was a place called "the control room" by the angels. Covered in complete darkness and strangely filled with the loud, noisy "tach tach" sound of keyboard typing.

The room was completely made up of clouds as anyone could see that the entire room, walls, floor, and ceiling were completely covered by clouds without a gap.

Creating a perfectly rectangular box with six sides created by clouds while the inside was empty.

The only light in the cloud room came from a simple yet modern device that looked like a big, ultra-thin television screen or maybe something like an enormous computer screen with a detachable keyboard but a heaven's version.

Its light was no different from that of a computer or a television. But instead of blue-white light, it was orange-white light.

Its keyboard looked like a regular keyboard but had no text, only a lot of gray buttons could be seen.

On the big screen, there was an image of a familiar young man trying not to look directly at the horror teleport building. His butt hit the white stones paved on the road while his eyes filled with fear after having discovered that the building could teleport.

Apparently, the device had encountered some serious errors...

Facing the screen of that device was an eighteen-year-old girl who looked no different from a princess coming from a super-rich country and had very beautiful, luxurious wings... Actually, she was an angel who had lived for thousands of years with her appearance had stopped growing. So was her chest.

She was looking through a strange colorful glass - which who knew what it could do - while hovering above her head, there was a beautiful glittering gold ring made of light that was creating so much the small and very beautiful golden light sparkles every time it moves - very different from the one of the young man on the screen and comparing them was like comparing sparkling gold with cheap copper.

Her hand glided over the smooth, flat surface of the device's keyboard, ignoring the gaps between the buttons. A hint of mischief appeared on her beautiful face while anyone could see a slight blush on her healthy cheeks even though the room was very dark. Her breathing was strangely fast.

Suddenly, she used the keyboard no different from a pianist. Making the gray keyboard which only knew a light gray color changed into all colors, matching her colorful glasses perfectly.

And causing... the prominent building to move in a zig-zag pattern, slowly approaching the frightened young man just an inch before it could actually be touched.

Chasing him with satisfaction, even as he gave up his pride and ran away with his tail sandwiched between his legs.
