Over & Over: Crash 5

“Oh. Yeah. Good point.”

As Dan fluffed his pillow and stretched out on his own cot, Luke panicked in his head. Were they not going to be allowed to leave until the raid? He didn’t have time to waste like that, he had another day and a half max that he could spend on this. If he didn’t get it done in time Lexa would… He’d have to do it all again…

“No…”

He’d find a way around that. He had to.

Laying wide awake both because of the face mask and the dread he felt, Luke waited until about three in the morning before finally creaking out of bed. Finding another corner, he donned his robes and located the mess hall, which was in the upper middle area of the facility. There were a few guards posted here and there, but luckily the robes helped disguise him in the darkness and he was able to slip past them by sticking to the shadows. Salazar would likely still be in his room at this hour, which was the only way his coin would be there as well, so Luke was going to have to be very very quiet. If he woke the Beiorg captain up he’d be killed instantly.

There were no guards in the mess hall. Just a big room laden with tables. It looked practically like a school’s cafeteria.

There it was, the glass door. Now, however, came the hard part. Creaking the door open, he crawled inside and crept around till finding the bedroom… which was empty. After doing a quick but quiet sweep of the apartment, he found that nobody was there at all. Turning stealth mode off, Luke looked through drawers and did a more in depth sweep, looking for the coin, which was nowhere to be found. As expected, Salazar had the coin with him at all times just like the rest of the Beiorgs. All that meant is that he’d have to wait until-

“Of course I didn’t give a shit about what that jackoff had to say!”

The sound of the front door opening and a woman laughing alerted Luke to the simple fact that he was royally fucked. Standing in Salazar’s bedroom, Luke took his only remaining option and stuffed himself in the captain’s small closet.

At the sound of the bedroom door opening and closing, Luke was able to clearly hear the man’s voice. Apparently he’d brought a woman from the outside back to his place to… well, fuck.

“One sec I gotta take a leak then we’ll get down to business.

When Salazar next came into the room, he opened the door to the closet and shoved his robe in, thankfully without looking. Sadly however, he didn’t fully close the door, and Luke was able to get a full view of what was about to happen.

Sadly, that wasn’t the strangest thing… The man. Salazar. Luke knew him. He’d only seen the guy once, but he was the owner of U.J. Steel, the largest manufacturer of steel in the western hemisphere and the man who owned the vast company that Luke was a production line worker in for the last few years. A few months after Luke had joined the company, Salazar, or Cain Sentury visited the factory to prove his commitment to even the least of his employees and he had the same shit eating grin he’d had back then as well. To think that someone this influential was only a captain in the Beiorgs was a shocker. Who the hell was their leader, the chancellor? No matter, he’d let Sam deal with that.
