Over & Over: Crash 12

“W-what’s the p-p-plan?!”

“Run in guns blazing! Gahahaha!”

“Th-that’s a te-terrible p-plan!!!!”

Again Crash laughed, setting Luke softly down on the ground and jumping through one of the windows of the warehouse. Seconds later, Luke heard a man scream and saw his body burst through the window right next to the one Crash had entered through. He wasn’t kidding. Around him, Sam’s men began tearing open doors and beating those wearing the trademarked Beiorg robes. Luke expected some sort of brawl but… They were literally all fistfighting. Where were the guns?! The knives?!

Shaking his head, Luke found himself running through the brawlers and doing his best to avoid their punches.

“Take that you thieving bastards!”

Looked like his other problem was making trouble for himself as well. Crash was fighting five or six of the Beiorg gang on his own, and with a raised box of robot parts he smashed their heads together and threw them to the ground, unconscious or dead Luke really had no idea. He just didn’t want to get hit by a box that big and heavy.

“Luke! Let’s find my damn regulator.”

“Maybe if you stopped beating the hell out of these guys we could!”

“They stole from me! They deserve it!”

Luke just grumbled at the fair amount of logic and signaled for Crash to follow him. They hid among the boxes as Beiorg members ran past them and planned on how they were going to find one regulator among probably thousands.

“Well… I could turn on the homing thingy, but it’s pretty damn loud.”

“The what?!”

“Yeah! My antenna can locate my missing parts with a blinking light. It’s just when I get closer it kills folks with ears so I tend not to use it.”

“You had a fucking homing device all this time and I had to infiltrate a secret society to get a fucking coin so we could get here?!”

“It only works at short range bastard!”

Grumbling once again, Luke asked him to start it up. He didn’t really think any of the Beiorg members could overpower Crash, so he wasn’t all that scared of getting killed in here. The robot promptly stuck a thumb in his head and rotated it clockwise.

“BrRrrRRRrrrrRR!”

“You know where it is?”

“THAT WAY!”

“BRRrrrrRRRrrrRR!”

It sounded like a foghorn, stopping brawls all around and causing Beiorg members to surround Luke and Crash. While the nerves were getting to him a bit more than before with so many folks surrounding him, Luke put up his fists.

“To hell with laying back!”

Luke threw a punch, catching one of the cloaked men on the jaw and tossing him into some boxes nearby. Instantly, however, more of them ran towards Luke and he was forced to back off. When he was about to be overpowered a box of robot parts whizzed past his head and caught the three men about to beat him to a pulp unawares. After they went down Luke looked towards Crash whom he expected to have thrown it. Surprisingly enough, it was the leader of the group, Greg… who was missing half his face. Wires fell out from sockets all over his body and he smiled with the remainder of his humanlike features.

“Being a damn android helps in times like this bahaha!”

Smiling, Luke got back up and gave a quick salute to the man, who winked with his robot eye. Crash, Greg and Luke finished the remaining men off, with Luke lagging behind significantly on the takedown count, and soon they were able to find a group of orange boxes. They looked slightly different than the others, but this was where Crash had brought them.

“Is your item here boy?”

“According to Crash yeah, no idea which box though.”

“Well... start searching. I’ll have the men shift over here and see what we can do about keeping you two safe.”
