—The Reality War—
-Season 2, Episode 1-
-Dimension 2-
Second Verse, Same As The First-
France, 1918-
The cold wind bites at the young mechanic’s skin. Her plane dodges nearby enemy fire, rocking the small aircraft with each explosion. She glances behind her, the Eiffel Tower lit up like a beacon of hope for the soldiers fighting below. Another plane suddenly appears right in front of her, firing their guns at her. The pilot checks her wings, noticing one has been blown off completely. “FUCK!” She shouts as the plane starts to spiral out of control. She braces for impact as the ground rushes at her. After a while, she slowly opens her eyes. “Fuck me… how did I let that happen?” The young pilot asks, checking herself for wounds. Her brown hair brushes against her back, collecting the dust and debris on her green Army fatigues. She looks around the darkness, her brown eyes scanning the building she’s found herself within. Pews, a pedestal, and some skeletons scattered among the rubble. “Way to go, Abigail… way to fucking go…” Abigail mutters to herself, climbing over some of the broken wood and stone. The church seems to be ancient, built long before the establishment of Paris itself. “What the fuck…” She mumbles, spotting the strange wooden box resting on the pedestal where the Bible should be. A beam of moonlight seems to be beckoning her to examine it, to pry open someone’s treasure. She shrugs, approaching the wooden box. Red velvet surrounds the interior of the box, with a golden and purple amulet resting softly within the velvet. She smirks, opening the box carefully. She looks around and snatches the necklace. She puts it around her neck, and a warm feeling of power flows through her blood. A mixture of arousal and anger overwhelms her, and she notices her wounds from the plane crash close. “Score! This’ll be worth a fuck ton!” She shouts, turning and heading for the door. Just as she opens it, several German soldiers are waiting for her. They open fire, the bullets ripping through Abigail’s chest and stomach. She falls on her back, blood pooling around her. She notices a strange emblem on their uniforms, what appears to be a cross with their German insignia behind it. “T-Thule…” She mumbles to herself, before passing out.
A Second Chance-
France, 1918-
Abigail wakes up to find a German woman standing over her. “Hello, American.” She says. Abigail sits up, rubbing the back of her head. “H-How am I alive?” She asks. The German woman scoffs. “You don’t know? You poke your head into the world of the occult and yet you know nothing of it!? Ridiculous!” She exclaims. Abigail shakes her head. “I’m sorry?” She asks. The woman groans. “Isabella Steiner doesn’t need this type of SHIT! Give me that damn amulet!” Steiner exclaims. Abigail shakes her head. “Fuck no, did you see the shit this thing can do?” She asks. Steiner nods. “Yes, that’s precisely why I WANT IT!” She shouts, but an explosion interrupts her. Several American soldiers burst in, firing at the Germans. A man wearing a General’s outfit, bearing a strange emblem. “Hello, Abigail Bright. I’m General Brenner, and we’re here to rescue you.” He explains. Abigail gets up, cautiously. “Really? Me? Why?” She asks rapidly. General Brenner smiles. “We’re here for that amulet of yours, but instead of simply taking it, we’d like to offer you an opportunity!” He says. Abigail narrows her eyes in suspicion. “Go on.” She says. General Brenner smiles. “Care to join The 18th Paranormal Regiment of The United States Military?” He asks. Abigail looks confused, yet slightly intrigued. “The what?” She asks in response. General Brenner chuckles. “Think of The Thule, but not as evil… or German.” He says. Abigail smiles widely. “Then count me in, Sir.” She exclaims, shaking the General’s hand.
The Visitor-
Saint Louis, 1971-
“This is Abigail Bright, reporting to HQ on the mission to Saint Louis,” Abigail says into the radio. Her white tank top is covered by a white lab coat, and she wears grey carpenter pants holding an assortment of tools and weapons. A man responds, almost instantly. “Go on Abigail. What’s the situation?” He asks. Abigail looks out over the Gateway Arch, lit up a bright red. Lightning bolts strike the metallic frame of the structure, and a strange red portal is forming in the center of the building. “Seems like some sort of portal, probably some sort of rift or fracture…” She says. Another lightning bolt strikes and the portal shatters, revealing what appears to be Hell. A woman stands in the center, and she falls. “Getting a sense of Deja Vu…” The woman mutters to herself, stepping forward. Abigail rushes up to her, waving her down. The mysterious woman wears a white shirt, torn at the stomach to reveal her abdomen. A black hoodie is charred at the bottom, and short jean shorts barely cover her legs. She has red hair, and dark red eyes that seem to glow in the dark. Two horns protrude from her forehead, and a small tail whips back and forth. “Can I help you?” The Demon asks, cautious of Abigail. Abigail catches her breath and waves. “Hi. I’m a doctor. Are you a Demon?” She asks. The Demon nods. “Uh, yeah, I think so. I got two horns and a tail, so…” She says. Abigail nods and claps enthusiastically. “GOOD! I needed a Demon!” She says happily. The Demon cocks her head to the side. “Need a Demon?” She asks. Abigail extends a hand, revealing the golden chain from her amulet resting around her neck. The Demon’s red eyes follow it down to her cleavage, where her golden and purple amulet rests snugly between her breasts. The Demon shakes Abigail’s hand, staring at the amulet. “I’m Lucy Daemon, and I’m guessing you’re… Doctor Bright?” She asks. Abigail nods. “Yeperinos! Abigail Bright, Head researcher for The 18th Paranormal Regiment. Researching and understanding the paranormal!’ Abigail says. Lucy continues to stare down at the necklace, and Abigail blushes. “Hey, uh, Lucy, was it? Yeah, um… my eyes are up here…” She says sheepishly, and Lucy’s face runs red. “WOAH! Sorry, you just remind me of someone…” She says, waving her hands around. Abigail shrugs. “Oh well, you know how it is. Being a smoking hot chick with a good hefty rack and all, it’s hard to ignore.” She says. Lucy raises an eyebrow. “You think I’m hot?” She asks. Abigail’s face runs red. “What!? No!” She says, covering her face with both of her hands. Lucy chuckles. “Listen, take me back to your base. I can give you the rundown on Hell and whatnot.” She says. Abigail nods, leading Lucy back to the jeep she drove in on. Lucy smiles and looks over to Abigail. "Hey, do you think we could make a difference if we teamed up?" She asks. Abigail smiles softly at her in return. "Of course we can. If not, we just need to try." Abigail replies.
Another Division-
Wolfrun, 1980-
Abigail and Lucy find themselves sitting in on a Paranormal Research meeting, when David Dragon, CEO of The Omega Corporation, makes an extreme proposal. “What do you mean, Demonic Holocaust!?” Abigail screams at the board of directors for The 18th Paranormal Regiment. “Simmer down, Doctor Bright.” The CEO says. Abigail flops down next to Lucy, defeated and annoyed. Lucy leans over to Abigail and whispers in her ear. “Don’t worry, I know his type,” She says. Abigail looks over at her. “Really?” She asks, confused and relieved. Lucy nods. “Yep. He’s all bark, no bite.” She responds. Abigail takes a deep breath and stands back up. “Why don’t you tell everyone your plan on this Holocaust?” She demands. Dragon stops talking. “Go on, Dragon. Tell us.” Another chairman says. Dragon swallows. “I’ll need full control of the Division in order-” He’s cut off by Abigail. “And there it is. He wants to control everyone and everything, just to wipe out an entire species that’s slightly different than us! He’s no better than Hitler!” She says. The other chairmen nod in agreement. “How about we elect a proper leader? We can either have Hitler lead us, or a bad bitch like Moi!” She says. The chairmen whisper amongst themselves. Everyone looks towards Abigail. “Alright, it’s settled then.” She says. She stands up and towards Dragon, narrowing her eyes. “Guards! Arrest him. We don’t need any usurpers in my ranks.” She says coldly. Dragon is taken into custody, and Lucy is awestruck. “Holy shit…” Lucy says quietly. Abigail stands tall in front of her new board. “I propose something risky, but something to benefit us!” She proclaims. “I want to recede from the United States Government,” Abigail says. Lucy’s jaw drops. “What the fuck?” She asks. Abigail smiles. “Look, all they do is restrict us, and stop us from really making a difference! We need to stretch out our wings and make some progress! America is the land of the free, after all.” She argues. The chairmen clap, and Lucy nods. “I said I need to make a difference, and I guess Abigail really can help.” She mutters to herself.
The Wolfrun Incident, II-
Wolfrun, 1993-
The skies are dark as rain pours down onto the streets of the overrun city. Abigail and Lucy sprint down the flooding streets as tornado sirens blare across the city, warning them of any incoming attacks. Smoke rises in the distance, as helicopters shine spotlights over the downtown areas of Wolfrun, Colorado. “What’s happening?!” Lucy shouts over the sound, knowing what's going on all too well. Abigail looks around, panicking. “I think an Outbreak of some sort, but I don’t know of what!” She responds, almost being drowned out by the sirens. Zombies wander the street, disoriented by the sounds and sights of the flames rising from the buildings. “If I remember correctly, I think I read somewhere in the files that this started in the Water Treatment Plant, so we should go there!” Lucy calls out over the noise. Abigail nods, heading out the the Facility. The duo arrives, where they find another scientist waiting for them. “Gears! What’s happening!?” Abigail calls out to the man in the doorway. Gears turns around, looking Abigail in the eyes. “Nothing good! We think Omega might’ve caused a mass outbreak to frame us.” He says. Lucy can’t look away from the man proclaiming himself to be Doctor Edward Gears. “I think it’s stable, but we need to go, NOW!” Gears says. Abigail turns to run, and Gears follows. Lucy tails behind, and once they’re out of the plant, Lucy stops Gears. “Who the hell are you?” Lucy demands, scanning the scientist up and down. Gears looks confused. “I’m Edward Gears, head of R&D for Division 18?” He answers. Lucy looks him in the eyes. Her eyes glowing red ever so slightly. “Harold Bright, Cass, and Richard Frost?” She asks. Gears’ face instantly becomes relieved. “Thank God, it is the right one.” He says. “I couldn’t tell if you were the same Lucy or some imposter.” Gears says. Lucy looks confused. “You’ve been to other realities?” She asks. Gears nods. “Of course I have. Ever since Frost vanished, I decided that the building in The Euphoric Plain is worth investigating.” He says. The Water Treatment plant begins making a low rumbling sound, followed by alarms, causing him to cut himself off. “We need to leave the city, NOW!” He says to Abigail, who’s sitting in a nearby car she’s been hotwiring while the two old friends were chatting. “Gotcha, let’s go!” She says, opening the doors for them. The sirens continue wailing as the trio flee Wolfrun. TLucy looks back at WOlfrun as memories of her previous life and time within the Outbreak flash in her eyes. The city flashes bright, and a mushroom cloud sits where the skyline once was. “Damn,” Abigail says, a tear forming in her eye. “There goes 100,000 people…” She says quietly, her voice shaking in fear and sadness. She calms herself and puts on a stern look. “C’mon guys, let’s go to DC and speak with The President.”
American Address, II-
Washington DC, 1993-
“My name is Abigail Bright. I’m the new leading member of Division 18, a newly created corporation built from the ground up with defense in mind. Division 18 plans to use your funding, along with the United States Military’s budget, to create a safer America for all of us. I’ll be working with my partner, Lucy Daemon, a woman with inside knowledge on how to destroy and defend against Demons, on a weapon capable of destroying any divine and paranormal threats looming over and within our country. We plan to build an orbital space station, running parallel to the Moon, to aim a space laser toward America in the last-case scenario of an outbreak unstoppable by anything we can use. The Frontier will disable enemy threats as well, and act as a base of operations for Division 18. Once again, I am Abigail Bright, and I pledge to stop all evil in the name of America!” She exclaims. After the cameras are off, Abigail and Lucy meet up behind the stage. “I liked the speech,” Lucy says. Abigail smiles softly. “Thanks, I put a ton of thought into how to phrase ‘Hey, we’re the dominant power in the world now. Hope you enjoy our reign!’ without making it sound like I’m a supervillain.” Abigail responds with a laugh. Lucy laughs too, shaking her head. “You’re not, right?” She asks. Abigail’s face grows stern. “Of course I am. After I build a space station, I’ll stop world hunger. Then, I’ll overthrow the Government and wipe student debt.” She says, breaking the evil character she made up. The two girls laugh as they head for Abigail’s car.
The Frontier-
Hanover, 2003-
“Start with your name,” Abigail says to the man sitting across from her. “My name is Brady Garrison, and I want to be Chief of Security,” Brady says. Abigail nods. “Why should I allow you inside of my Division?” She asks. Brady swallows nervously. “Because I want to make America safer, and I believe I can do that in your group.” He says. Abigail leans in close. “What does ‘safe’ mean to you, exactly?” She asks. Brady straightens up. “Safe is where my girlfriend can sleep soundly. Safe is where I can walk down the road without fear of another Zombie Outbreak. Safe is when America is the America I grew up with.” He says sternly. Abigail smiles. “Welcome aboard!” She says, jumping up enthusiastically. She offers him a hand to shake, and Brady sighs while smiling. He shakes her hand while Lucy watches from behind a one-way mirror. “I don’t know about him…” She says to Gears. “It’ll be fine, I trust Abigail’s intuition.” He replies. “Isn’t that what you said about Harold?” She retorts. Gears frowns, glaring at her from the side of his eye. “Shut up,” he says coldly.
Hellbreak-
Mars, 2014-
Heavy machinery clangs loudly as a soldier walks down a dimly lit corridor. “Hey! Finnigan!” A voice calls out. Rev looks up, searching for the source voice. “There you are, we need you in Section 12!” The man says. “Yes, Commander Shepard,” Rev says. He heads towards a nearby elevator, and presses the glowing button reading “S12”. At the bottom, Rev finds himself surrounded by miners working deep in the Earth. Rev shakes his head, chuckling. He’s not on Earth. They’re mining out Mars to find resources to rival Division 18’s Space Station. Rev smirks as he falls asleep at his post. Alarms jolt Rev out of his blissful slumber. Rev jumps up, drawing his signature revolver, Ellie, and his radio from his vest. “Commander? You copy?” He asks. Static answers him. He frowns. “Guess I’m too low, for fucks sake,” he mutters to himself. He readies his revolver and walks down the dimly lit corridor. A figure stands at the end of the hallway, kneeling over another figure lying down. “Hey! You okay?” Rev calls out. The figure slowly turns, blood covering his face. He growls at Rev, lunging at him. Rev fires at him. The man falls to the ground, blood pooling around his head. “A… Demon?” He asks aloud. “Yessir.” A voice says behind him. Rev spins, gun ready to fire again. ‘Woah, calm yourself. I’m here to help.” The man says. Rev shines his flashlight at the man. Messy brown hair, a halo, and pale white skin. “The fuck are you?” Rev demands. The man sighs. “I’m an Archangel. Yes, we exist. I’m like your guardian Angel of sorts.” He says. Rev lowers the gun slightly. “What’s your name?” He asks. The Archangel smiles. “I am Alexander, Archangel of the Lord,” Alexander says. “Just call me Alex. It’s easier to shout if you’re in trouble. ALEX, HELP!” He says, laughing. Rev rolls his eyes. “Whatever. I need to get topside, okay? Can you help?” Rev asks. Alex nods. “Of course! You know, you’re more fun in the future.” He says. Rev stops. “The future?” He asks. Alex nods. “Of course, I’m an Archangel. We can fly through time!” He says. Rev shrugs. “Whatever. Let’s go.” Rev says, boarding the elevator with Alex.
Section 5. Rev checks both directions before stepping out of the elevator. Alex, however, doesn’t care. The elevator falls shortly after that. “Wow, that’s not certified safe…” Alex comments. Rev shakes his head, pressing on. Fighting through Demons, Rev and Alex make it to Security Command, where Shepard is waiting. “Finally, what took you so long?” Shepard demands. Rev looks back at the doorway. “I was cornered by some Demons, but I had some help.” He says. Alex walks in. “Who the fuck are you!?” Shepard shouts, drawing his pistol and aiming at Alex. “Woah, simmer down. I’m Alexander, Archangel of the Lord.” Alex says, smiling. Shepard frowns. “No. Angels don’t exist.” Alex laughs. “Yet your people are being slaughtered by Demons? Funny.” He responds. Shepard considers this and nods. “Fine. Welcome to The Omega Corporation’s Mining Colony Beta.” He says. Alex looks disgusted. “What a mouthful, why not just ‘Colony Beta’?” He retorts. Shepard shrugs. “I don’t make the names, I’m just stuck repeating them.” Alex chuckles. An explosion rocks the facility, knocking most of the survivors to the floor. “The fuck was that?” Rev calls out. “Hell,” Alex responds. “Come on, let’s go!” He shouts, running out of the door. Rev and Shepard follow close behind.
Section 1. Alex, Rev, and Shepard have made it to the surface of Mars. They discover a large, blood-red portal in the center of the Mining Colony, where the mineshaft is. “Holy shit…” Rev says. Alex nods and jumps in. “The fuck are you doing?” Shepard calls after him. “Going to Hell!” Alex calls up, dropping into the rift. Rev shrugs and follows. Shepard wants to, but he’s stopped. Rev watches as Shepard is thrown aside by a large Demon with wings. Alex and Rev find themselves in Hell, and Alex’s wings reveal themselves. As do his horns, and his blood-red Halo. “The fuck…?” Rev asks. Alex puts his hand up to his mouth. “Whoopsie Daisy, did I tell a little fib?” He asks sarcastically. Rev draws his gun. Alex flips his hand, and Rev is sent flying into a nearby rock. “Well, not entirely. I AM an Archangel. Just not the one you wanted to see.” He says, walking up to Rev. “I’m the Fallen Angel. The one cast out by God, the one forced to be the bad guy. I am Lucifer, Archangel of Hell.” Lucifer says, smirking. He kicks Rev while he’s down, and flaps his wings. “Seeya, loser!” Lucifer calls out as he takes off. Rev sits up, looking around at Hell around him. “Fuck.” He mutters.

Hellwalker-
Mars, 2014-
Wandering alone through Hell, Rev comes across a small portal. He peers inside, discovering a view of the Mars Colony. He jumps through, ending up in Section 2. Rev discovers that the Omega security forces have begun fighting back, and the large Anti-Spacecraft canon atop Section 1 is firing at the Mine Shaft where the Demons are emerging from. “Good, now where do I go?” Rev asks aloud, noticing the bridge between Sections 2 and 1 has collapsed. He looks around, jumping across a small gap into the ventilation shaft.”Fuck me…” He mutters, crawling through the dusty vent. He drops out in Section 1, surrounded by Demons. “FUCK ME!” He shouts, firing his gun at the swarm of Hellish figures. They tear him apart, and he wakes up once again Hell. “God damn it.” He says, sighing. He emerges once again in Section 2. He crawls through the same vent and kills the Demons waiting there. He kicks in a door to find Shepard and some other soldiers waiting. “Good, you’re back. How the hell did you escape, well, Hell?” Shepard asks. Rev grunts. “Fucking slowly, Sir.” He responds. Shepard laughs. “At least your humor is still intact. We’re gonna assault the Mine Shaft, you in?” Shepard asks. Rev smiles. “Damn right, I’m in.” He says. Shepard smiles. “Atta boy, let’s go!” He shouts, motioning towards the Hell Portal.
Rev leads the charge and notices Shepard climbing inside the Anti-Spacecraft canon. “You lure them out, and I’ll blast those fuckers to Purgatory!” Shepard shouts into the radio, laughing. He stops once he notices an Angel rising from the rift. “Hey, isn’t that your Archangel friend?” He asks. Rev swallows. “No. Alex never existed. I was following Lucifer.” He admits. Shepard’s radio falls silent. “Well, let’s send his ass back to Heaven! Hiya!” Shepard shouts, firing at Lucifer. Lucifer catches the missile, smirking. “Oh, nuh uh.” He says, hijacking the radio signal. He throws the missile back at Shepard, killing him and destroying the canon. Rev cries out, and fires at Lucifer. Lucifer laughs. “Oh, you think that hurts? It just tickles!” He says, waving his hand. Rev doesn’t move, however. Lucifer looks at him worried. “Oh no, already?” He asks aloud. Rev growls. He aims Ellie at the Fallen Archangel, pulling back the hammer. “Eat this, Fallen Fuck!” He shouts, firing. The bullet hits Lucifer in the forehead, not killing him, but knocking him unconscious. He falls back into the rift, with the other Omega security collapsing the Mine Shaft afterward. Rev sighs, falling down. He notices a small escape pod in a nearby building, and he crawls towards it. He fires himself at Earth but instead discovers himself hurtling toward a massive space station orbiting the planet. “OH FUCK!” He shouts as he braces for impact.
Releasing The Beast-
New Reunion, 2014-
The scientist scans his ID card as he enters the New Reunion Facility, disguised as a Wal-Mart. “Morning, Sir.” One of the security guards says. Doctor Mark Holloway walks down the dark hallway, scanning the walls for a sign reading ‘TMB-0002’. He finds it and enters. The guard jumps up, grabbing his MP5. “Hey! You can’t be in here!” he shouts, aiming the gun. Mark grabs his pistol and shoots the guard, and his corpse falls with a loud thud. Mark walks over to the containment pod, holding a man wearing a gas mask fused to his face. A Division 18 straight jacket holds his arms around his body as he floats in the liquid keeping him pacified. Mark smiles, running out of the room as the bulkhead holding the creature back begins to slowly open.
Tears-
New Reunion, 2014-
“Mark! What’s happening!?” Another soldier asks. Mark shrugs. “I don’t know, but it’s gonna be good!” He shouts, rushing towards Prisoner 0002. The duo arrives to find the bulkhead containing the creature is almost broken. “Oh God...” the soldier says, and Mark leans in smiling. The door flies off the hinges, and the bulkhead crashes into the wall adjacent. A man wearing a white Division 18 jumpsuit emerges, his face obstructed by a gas mask grafted onto his face. He laughs, his voice distorted by the air filter. “Holy shit…” the soldier says, running away. The creature snaps his attention to the man and snaps his fingers. The soldier explodes into a red mist. “Foolish creature… Fleeing from the new God of this damned realm.” The creature says. He looks down at Mark. “Hello, human.” He says, raising a hand. Mark smiles. He raises his hand back. “Hello, God,” Mark responds. The creature approaches the soldier. “I am Veritas Deus. The Reality God.” The God says. Mark bows his head. “Welcome to Earth.” He says. Veritas visibly smiles beneath his mask. “Thank you. I must test to see how powerful I remain.” He says, placing a hand on Mark’s head.
Mark’s eyes open to find himself alone at an intersection. He looks around and notices the street names are familiar. His dead wife and daughter’s name are printed in white on the green metal. “No…” He says, falling back. He begins sprinting down one of the roads. He slows down once he reaches the next intersection. He looks at the signs, only to stop altogether. His wife and daughter’s names once again. “How the fuck can this be happening,” Mark mutters to himself. “Because I control reality,” Veritas replies, appearing behind the scared soldier. “No… Leave me alone!” Mark screams, busting inside a nearby house. His own home, where Sarah and Emily were murdered. Two shadows dance atop the staircase by the door. Mark slowly approaches, his pistol drawn. His wife and daughter dance together in the bedroom where they were killed, and Mark enters. The duo turn, their faces melting and their eyes lifeless. The zombies lunge at Mark, Emily biting his arm. Mark pushes them off and rushes to the door. He bursts out, witnessing a sight he wishes he had forgotten. The city’s skyline burns, and sires blare across the city. Mark finds himself in Wolfrun, Colorado. “How the hell…” He asks. Veritas appears once again. “I control reality, so get a grip.” He says. Mark takes the pistol and shoves it into his jaw. He fires, and his vision goes dark.
He awakens inside a hospital, a woman standing over him. “Hey, you okay? We barely got you out safely…” The woman says. Her long, dark hair tickled Mark’s face. “Doc.. Doctor Bright?” He asks. Abigail smiles and nods. “The one and only. Now, I need to ask you some questions…” She says. “About Wolfrun?” Mark asks, raising himself in the bed. Abigail looks at him confused. “Wolfrun? That case has been closed for 28 years.” She says. “I wanted to ask you about New Reunion.” She says, facing Mark. “And the Mind Breaker’s escape.” She adds. Mark looks at her. “Veritas Deus?” He asks. Abigail nods. “Yep, that’s what he calls himself. But he’s just a mutant like the rest. He distorts reality to torture my victims.” She says. Mark nods. “Yeah, he did that to me. First, a street repeating itself, then my dead family, and finally Wolfrun. Then I woke up here-” He says, stopping himself. “My?” he asks, nervous. Abigail giggles. “Yeah, ‘My’ bad. Guess I’m not a great actor, huh?” She asks. She stands, her brown hair falling over her face. She pulls it back, revealing The Mind Breaker’s gas mask. The hospital room falls, revealing a white void. “Only one way out, disciple.” The Mind Breaker says. He hands Mark a pistol with one bullet loaded. He aims for his head but stops. “I’ll do it, but grant me a wish first.” He demands. The Mind Breaker sighs. “This isn’t a charity, what do you want?” Mark sits for a moment. “My daughter gave me a music box that played my wife’s favorite song. Can I hear it one more time?” he asks. The Mind Breaker nods, a music box appearing beside Mark. He winds it and listens. After a moment, he aims the gun and fires at his chin.
“GOD DAMN IT!” Abigail Bright shouts, arriving at Site 0002’s main entrance. The entire armed force protecting the Mind Breaker all seemingly killed themselves, and she finds Mark slumped over in the Security Outpost. Gun in one hand, and weirdly, a music box in the other. “There goes our only witness to his escape. Now I have no goddamn clue where Lucy is.” She mutters to herself. Brady steps behind her. “Ma’am, I have a report.” He says. “Go on, Brady. And stop calling me ‘Ma’am’, it’s dehumanizing.” She says. Brady nods. ‘Sorry, Abigail. And a strange spacecraft impacted The Frontier. It seems to have come from Mars, of all places.” He says. Abigail stands. “Okay, what else wants to crop up during this stressful ass day!” She mockingly shouts. She sighs. “I need a fucking drink.” She says. Brady stops her from leaving. “Abigail, I think these might be connected.” He says. Abigail raises an eyebrow. “Oh? How so?” She asks. Brady smiles pulling out a notebook and pencil. “Oh my fucking god, not the notebook. Please.” She pleas, sitting down next to the body of Mark Holloway.
Open Your Eyes-
The Frontier, 2014-
Lucy opens her eyes to find herself aboard a ship. She notices the lack of rocking, and she looks out the window. Space. “Why am I here?” She asks herself. She looks in her breast pocket and finds a note. “Meet me aboard The Frontier at 12:00- DD.” The note reads. “Ah, that’s right. Doctor Dragon wanted to discuss an idea for containing incidents like Wolfrun.” She tells herself, yet the feeling of uneasiness in her stomach doesn’t go away. She enters The Frontier’s lobby to find David Dragon waiting. “Welcome aboard The 18th Division’s crowning achievement!” He says, hugging his partner and co-CEO. Lucy smiles. “I’m glad it got up easily, I remember some trouble with Brady. Something about New Reunion?” She asks. Dragon shakes his head. “Nah, don’t worry about that. It’s taken care of.” He reassures the Demon. Dragon and Lucy enter the main cabin to find a parasitic organism attacking the space station. “What are they?” She asks. Dragon sighs. “The sins of the past. The Spencer Virus has gone space-bound, attacking and infecting anything they come across.” He says. Lucy backs away, shocked. A sharp piercing pain cracks across her skull. She grabs her head in pain. “You okay?” Dragon asks concerned. Lucy looks around the room, her eyes darting frantically. “This… This isn’t right… Division 18…” She says, fainting.
Lucy opens her eyes to find herself alone in a dark spaceship, flying towards The Frontier. She looks around, discovering the station has gone dark. She lands, and The Frontier’s empty corridors hum with dying electricity. “Well… Space is a great grave to rest forever.” She mutters, grabbing a flashlight and a small pistol. She ventures out into the derelict space station, its low humming growing louder with each step she takes toward the elevator shaft. Lucy peers down the shaft only to find the humming isn’t the electricity, but the Organisms attacking the survivors holding out in the elevator. “HEY! UP HERE!” She calls out, firing her pistol at the Organisms flooding the hallway she’s running down. They catch up and trip her, her chin smacking the cold, metal flooring.
Lucy opens her eyes to find herself aboard the small shuttle heading towards The Frontier, the 18th Division’s orbital satellite. No. Lucy frowns. “That’s not right… It’s reassurance. Not a satellite…” She mutters. A nearby TV lights up, its white light blinding her. She squints and can make out several words on the screen. “HANG TIGHT. IM COMING TO SAVE U- AB” The note reads. Lucy closes her eyes, as AB causes some memories to resurface. She shakes her head, knowing she needs to focus on Dragon’s experiment. She looks out of the window, and spots what seems to be a meteor hurtling towards the Frontier. It impacts the hull, entering the loading bay. Lucy lands, immediately grabs a rifle, and heads off to investigate. Once inside the loading bay, she spots an Omega Corporation escape pod sitting amongst some debris. A man lies on the floor, a mere foot from the open door. “Hey, you okay?” Lucy asks the man. He groans, rolling over. “HEY! Wake up!” Lucy says, shaking him. Dragon approaches the duo. “Who’s this?” He asks, looking towards the man. “I don’t know, he crashed into the hull-” She says. Dragon reveals a loaded pistol, aiming it at the man. The man wakes up, his eyes immediately resting on the barrel of the gun. “WOAH!” he yells, rushing to his feet. His hands raised high above his head. “I’m Rev Finnigan. I work for- Worked for Omega. Until my unit was wiped out on Mars by Demons.” He says. Dragon looks at him confused. “Demons?” He asks, smiling. “Demons don’t exist, dumbass.” He says, cocking the gun. Lucy is alarmed. “I’m a Demon, David.” She says. Dragon looks at her. “Oh yeah, I forgot. Silly me.” He says. Dragon turns towards the wrecked ship. When he turns back, a gas mask rests where his face once was. “You got me.” The Mind Breaker says. Lucy steps between Rev and The Mind Breaker. “Let us go, NOW!” She demands. The Mind Breaker laughs. “Sure, you’re boring anyway. Plus-” He motions towards Rev. “-He ruined the illusion.” The Mind Breaker says. He snaps his fingers, and The Frontier falls away.
Lucy opens her eyes. Rev is lying next to her, and the pair are stranded aboard a small shuttle. The Frontier is nowhere to be seen, and Lucy doesn’t feel the uneasiness from before. “Hey, wake up.” She says, nudging Rev. The young man opens his eyes, looking up at the beautiful Demon resting above him. “Hello, gorgeous,” he says, sitting up. Lucy chuckles. “Nope. I like girls.” Rev lays back down on the steel floor. “Figures.” He says. The pair share a laugh as a Division 18 spacecraft approaches. “Lucy, you okay?” Abigail asks over the radio as the spacecraft attracts the shuttle. Abigail boards, drawing her pistol at the sight of Rev’s Omega Corporation jacket. “WOAH! He’s cool, trust me.” Lucy shouts, stepping between Abigail and Rev. Abigail looks at her, confused. “You sure? He’s working with the bad guys!” She argues. Lucy nods, slowly reaching for Abigail’s pistol. “Yeah, he helped me out of the false reality.” She says. Abigail nods, lowering her gun. “Alright, I trust you.” She replies. She extends an arm towards Rev. “Welcome to Division 18, man.” She says. Rev grabs her hand, shaking it. “Rev Finnigan.” He says, introducing himself. Abigail smiles back at him. “Abigail Bright.” She responds as the small ship they’re on heads towards The Frontier.
Veritas Deus-
The Frontier, 2014-
Abigail, Rev, Lucy, Gears, and Brady all stand around the desk. “Well? Any suggestions?” Abigail asks aloud, with silence as her answer. Lucy looks over at Gears and smiles. “Remember how we dealt with Harold?” She asks. Gears nods. “Yes. What of it?” He asks in return. Lucy gets up, grabbing some notebook paper and a pen. She draws a schematic from memory, one of Frost’s old inventions. “This. With your ability to stall time with your Quantum Lock, we should be able to banish him to the gap between dimensions.” She explains. Brady shakes his head. “What the fuck do you mean ‘Gap between dimensions?” He asks. Lucy clears her throat. “Gears and I are from another reality, one where Division 18 failed to save the world. I’m here to stop that from happening again, and Gears… I dunno why he’s here. But this worked to stop another similar threat.” She says reassuringly. Abigail glares at Gears. “I didn’t know you’re from another reality.” She says coldly. Gears nods. “It’s the same as being from a foreign country. It doesn’t matter.” He says. Abigail nods. “Whatever. Will this device work?” She asks Lucy. Lucy nods. “Yep, and even better: We need Rev to get it working.” She says, looking over at The Hellwalker. Rev looks up, confused. “I’m needed?” He asks. Lucy nods. “Hell yeah, you are! I need you to lure this asshole out of hiding with me!” She exclaims. Rev’s face falls flat. “You’re fucking joking…” He says in disbelief. Lucy smirks. “Fuck no, I’m as serious as Hitler when he sees some jew walking on his lawn.” She says. Rev shakes his head. “Weird comparisons aside, this sounds like a horrible idea. Nothing quite like handing him two previous victims to get his… attention.” He stops, dropping his head. “I see why I’m needed now.” He says bluntly. Lucy smiles. “I’m glad you do. Let’s move out!” She says, and Abigail nods. “Exactly what I was gonna say!” She says, and Lucy’s face glows red as she blushes. “R-Really?” She asks. Abigail nods, smiling with confidence. “Hell yeah, my little Devil.” She says, heading for the door. Lucy feels an attraction she hasn’t felt since meeting Cass for the first time. “H-Heh… guess I still got game.” She whispers to herself.
The Reality War-
Hanover, 2014-
Abigail, Rev, Lucy, and Gears all meet up in Hanover, where Division 18 last reported The Mind Breakers located. “Alright, Rev and Lucy, you guys lure out The Mind Breaker. Gears, you tether him with the Gravitational Harness. Brady and I will work together to rip open time and space. We set?” Abigail asks. Rev and Lucy nod, and Gears smiles. “Good. Let’s kick this fucker’s ass.” She says. Lucy and Rev arrive down in Hanover, the city barren after The Mind Breaker kidnapped all its civilians. “Like a fucking ghost town…” Lucy says. Rev nods. “Like Wolfrun.” He says. Lucy frowns. “Yeah, like Wolfrun. But we won’t let that happen again.” She says firmly. Rev smiles. “I figured, I never blamed you guys, by the way,” he says. Lucy smiles back. “Let’s talk after the mission, we need to focus.” She says. The duo continues to search for The Mind Breaker. Gears, sitting outside the city limits on a motorcycle, complains into a phone. “No, I know what I’m doing. This won’t affect the timeline. Trust me, I’d know.” he says. “No. They don’t know yet, and hopefully, you didn’t alert Hellwalker when you fucked with him. Well, WILL fuck with him.” He continues. Abigail clears her throat. “Who are you talking to, Gears?” She asks over the radio. Gears swallows. “Another contact, Doctor Philips.” Abigail scoffs. “I don’t know of any Doctor Philips. But just keep the chit-chat to a minimum, we need to focus.” Gears sighs. “Yeah, gotcha.” He replies. “Good. Rev and Lucy have spotted him, you ready to go?” She asks. “Rarin’ to ride.” Gears says, revving the motorcycle. “Good. NOW!” Abigail shouts. Gears floors it, riding straight towards the center of town. Brady and Abigail watch from The Frontier, waiting. Lucy and Rev throw the harness over The Mind Breaker. “This won’t work. I’ll see you all again soon!” He shouts. Lucy rolls her eyes. “Yeah, fat chance.” She says. The Mind Breaker. “You think I’m bad? There’s always a bigger fish. I’m just a blip on the radar. Wait until you meet God-” He starts, but Gears pulls up, activating the harness. “NOW!” HE yells up to the radio. Abigail and Brady activate their switches, and The Frontier charges up. “NO! This is not how it’s supposed to be! You can’t be here!” The Mind Breaker cries out, looking at Gears. Gears smiles. “Yeah? Neither are you, so piss off.” He says, watching as The Void opens up to swallow The Mind Breaker whole. The harness becomes loose, and Lucy notices. “Hey! He’s gonna escape!” She calls out. Rev tries to run for it, but Gears stops him. “Relax, I got this.” He says, revving his bike. He rides towards The Mind Breaker, hopping off the bike and latching onto the harness. “You aren’t going anywhere, asshole.” Gears says. The Mind Breaker laughs, grabbing onto Gears’ sleeve. “Neither are you, Chronos.” He says as The Void swallows them both whole.
Lucy, Rev, and Brady all meet outside Hanover. “Did you hear him? The Mind Breaker called Gears ‘Chronos.’ Weird.” Rev says. Lucy shrugs. “It’s The Mind Breaker, so we can take anything he says with a grain of salt.” She replies. Brady looks up. “He was experimenting with time, after all. The Mind Breaker probably just knew about that.” He adds. Abigail walks in, cracking open a few beers for her friends. “To a job well done.” She says, holding her beer up in the air. The others clink their cans together. “Still, I think it’s odd. How the hell did you get through The Mind Breaker’s illusion, Rev?” Lucy asks. Rev swallows a mouthful of beer. “I’m just that awesome, I suppose.” He replies. The group all laugh, happy the problem is resolved.
Epilogue-
The Institute, 2014-
“What the fuck were you doing?” The Director asks, slamming his fist on the desk in front of Gears. “You almost blew your fucking cover, you dipshit! Hell, He even gave out your name!” The Director shouts. Gears shakes his head. “Don’t worry, He’s a pathological liar. They won’t trust his word.” He says. The Director leans back. “And what about Lucifer? Does he know you’re here?” He asks. Gears smirks. “Of course not. He’s a moron, you of all people should know that.” He replies smugly. “Whatever. Just get back to where we need you.” The Director instructs. “Yeah, I gotcha. Catch you later, Alexander.” Gears says, disappearing. The Director groans, returning to the screen to observe Lucy and Abigail. I’m doing all this work for you, Mike. Dealing with these fucking morons ruining our plan, and this is the thanks I get? A two troublesome Gods Of?” He asks himself aloud. An Angel lands before him, her silver hair is messy from flying faster than the speed of light. “You summoned me, Master?” She asks. The Director nods. “Yes, Eris. Listen, I need you to help another of my subjects. I need you to help him find someone, so he can cause another massive outbreak. Worse than Wolfrun.” He says. Eris nods. “Yes, Sir. Has my father reported back to you about my relocation?” She asks. The Director’s eyes glow blue in anger. “NO. Stop asking, please. Michael will respond when he finds time.” He says. Eris nods, flying off again. The Director sighs. “Rather, when he feels like it. Smug prick.” He says to himself as he spins slowly in his chair.
