> I always wondered how some people had such shitty lives, and others seemed to be born with the luck of the gods. The slots explained it all, some people had bad fortune even before they were born. However, I couldn't dally around worrying about the fate of other souls when mine could be just as bad. As I floated forward, I could only hope that my previous life would be an indicator of my future. Usually, I had pretty decent luck, well at least up until I got hit by bus-sama.

> I read over the instructions. Ok, let's see here… activated by mind, three, sevens mean you get to choose your destiny. If you strike out we choose for you. Blasé blasé. Alright, seems kind of ominous I thought, but the instructions seemed straightforward enough. I focused all my energy on any remaining luck I had as the slots slowly began to spin. The first number was a seven, so good so far, I effused. It spun again, the second number was also a seven, just one more, I pleaded. My soul trembled as I waited for the last number; gratefully, it too was a seven. I sighed a breath of relief; this is too easy, I presumed.

> "Make your wish," the screen glowed. I wondered if I had to say my wish out loud, I went for it anyway. “Ok, uh, I wish for the power to be left alone in my next life." A simple enough wish. I believed.
>
> Would you like to spin again, the machine read. Shit, I realized I had forgotten to wish for riches. So, in typical smile-chan fashion, I decided to spin again. seven…..seven….. seven…. the slots displayed. Two times in a row, I was on a roll. "Ok, I wish to be unlimitedly rich in my next life!" I exclaimed unable to contain my excitement.

> Would you like to make another wish? The glowing screen enticed me. Why not I implored, thirds time the charm right? ( inner smile-chan: flag) Enthralled, I wondered what I would wish for next. Maybe, I could be a great cook and I would never have to eat scorched pasta again.

> I laughed manically, as I prepared to spin. "Go, baby, go!" I screamed; unaware of the other souls slowly drifting away from me. In the first column, it read a seven. I beamed with anticipation. In the second column, it was a cherry. Cho... I gulped realizing the predicament I was in. Circumstances were beginning to be a bit more panicky, however, all was not lost. The manual did say if I matched 2 out of 3 I could spin again. I frantically hoped that the last column would be a 7, it spun for what felt like forever, finally revealing the third column to be a skull. Shit! I screamed internally. What was going to happen next, how could my luck run out so quickly? (inner smile-chan: wait why didn't I make all my wishes on the first spin?)

> Annette… you will be transported to the world C Æ B- xi . Chotto—, I shrieked. I had so many questions. Who was Annette, and why did the name of the world sound so dangerous. As I was spirited away, I pleaded desperately kami-sama, please help me!
