Most of the bands sets went off without a hitch and by the second to last Sebastian had learned you can enjoy a concert from a seat too. It wasn’t until The Screaming Banshees entered stage left and started their set that Kaeri noticed any of the songs that had gotten vetoed. All night she hadn’t missed out on any of her favorite set songs until they began with their usual list only to notice they had skipped one of her favorites from there first album. So much for it being their ‘Remembrance’ Tour, must not include VIP events.
It was enough to make her feel upset, but she was still there to show Sebastian a great first music festival. He deserved a good experience after how she had started it for him. Luckily for her, since he’d discovered seated entertainment, she was already playing on her phone. Sparing a glance at Sebastian lounging in the metal chair across from hers, “Hey, they usually have some epic Wi-Fi around the pavilion for MMO players, wanna raid a dungeon to some live music?”
Nothing like reviving a poor introverted gamer with exactly the kind of fun that takes your mind off everything else. His eyes lit up as he abandoned the fries. He’d been mowing down on to dive both hands into his pockets, he fished it out loading, before he’d even looked at it.
“Let’s do this thing.”

I'd like to say that the rest of the night went off without a hitch but it's not a fairy tale ending. As a whole the two barely made it to the rave and not because of the dungeon raid, Kaeri simply forgot how tired you can get, just waiting. The adrenaline of the day wore off quick once they started to work on the dungeon boss and the lack of comfortable chairs only added to their exhaustion.
Once the rave began Sebastien regained some sort of energy and at least enjoyed the first featured EDM artist, but he quickly deflated from his second wind and joined her in the booths where she wondered whether to leave or not.

“Is that all you have in you for today? Past midnight now I think.” Her voice wasn’t any more energetic than she was, but he’d gotten used to her low energy monotone.
Sebastien’s body was lanky on it’s own but he seemed particularly lanky with the clear physical exhaustion of having thrashed around the last 20 minutes to Electric Unicorn Crack’s trance set. He looked happy though. Maybe suggesting he’d partied enough was the way to suggest he give up for today and just come back with her again next year, at least without directly saying it.
He was still semi out of breath trying to form his answer. “Ya know *pant* I was thinking I could *pant* try to run a marathon home. *Heavy inhale sigh* But maybe we should just get some late-night snacks on the drive home.”
Cackling at his sarcasm, “Sure thing agent 009, what’d you have in mind for snacks.”
“Why must you call me that.” he huffed, taking a deep breath in and exhaling deliberately slow before he continued. “It’s not like there’s a lot of choices around but if we take the side road across and come back on the turnpike off ramp we could at least get some fast food.”
The kid couldn’t gain a pound if he tried, and he did. Eating something like a half pound of meat and bread with extra cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and extra slivered onions, not to mention enough mayonnaise on top to give me high cholesterol by proxy. Didn’t matter, he lost weight trying to make a viral mukbang video once. Kaeri didn’t have much to say because the kid struggled with anything but muscle, she on the other hand would gain at least 5 pounds if she even smelled the things he’d put away. Fast food would ruin her digestive system and what little self confidence she still had if she ate it.
“Ya know, it’d be one thing if we could both eat there but isn’t the only other option off the ramp gas station cuisine?” Having a 24/7 gas station right off the ramp made sense for the area, not much traffic was actually taking the ramp to come to their Podunk town. Most of the drivers were looking for a gas station because there was a huge stretch before the next off ramp. She slumped over in her booth seat, the upholstery almost squeaking in protest from the friction. Kaeri sighed, “If that’s the case then we are feeding me first or I’ll have to turn around to get something for myself. That shit ruins me and isn’t even good unless you order it fresh and eat it while it’s ungodly hot. Plus, you know I don’t like having to backtrack in a game, never mind real life.”
