Chapter 2: Children of Prophecy

The three kings of Ostoria had been gathered into a meeting room within the Elven Capital, Prudinia. They were all standing around a small brazier set into a raised platform in the middle of the room. The flame within the brazier had gone out a long time ago, seemingly from the palpable tension between the three men.

Each of the kings had received summons from the Elven king but when asked what the meeting was about he was at a loss for words, having not known about their summonings until now. In the first few minutes of waiting the human and dwarf king had accused the elf of plotting their demise but he quickly assured them that it wasn’t the case.

“I’m tired of waiting around here just staring at both of your ugly mugs, how much longer must we be kept waiting?” The one who had spoken first was the king of the human kingdom, Atharia. King Aurelianus Mildenhall was a man with long dark red hair that flowed down past his shoulder blades. He sported a short goatee on his chin, the color matching with his hair. Aurelianus had slammed his hand down on the edge of the platform as he leaned forward, his light brown eyes studying the other two kings.

A mere grunt sounded from Thurdroick Mountainheart, the king of Uthwastell. He, much like Aurelianus, carried long hair but his reached down past the middle of his back and was silvery in color. This was a sign of the dwarf’s old age.

“Please Aurelianus, I’m sure whoever sent the letter must be close at hand…. Besides, you wouldn’t want to upset her would you?” The elven king, Aywin Sol-Andrea, had a gentle smile painted across his thin lips as he attempted to calm down his fellow king. Aywin raised his hand and brushed back his silver colored hair that just reached the top of his shoulders.

The human king placed his hands on the platform as he leaned forward, his eyes narrowing towards Aywin. A hint of curiosity mixed with apprehension appeared in his eyes as he spoke. “Aywin, do you know who sent for us? Why haven’t you said anything you damn bastard?”

A soft sigh escaped Aywin’s lips as he shook his head in disappointment. “I didn’t say anything because I was waiting for one of you two to realize who it was and say something. Think Aurelianus, who is the one person that can summon each one of us and has the gall to make us wait?”

“You don’t mean her-”

“I do”

Thurdroick finally raised his gaze and looked towards the two kings with him. His eyes were clouded with confusion before realization dawned on him. The moment he went to open his mouth to say something the door to the meeting chambers burst open as a certain elven woman strode in with an aura of pure confidence. The three kings simultaneously turned towards the woman and bowed deeply, each one of them showing her the utmost respect.

“My my~ three dashing men all bowing for little old me? It’s enough to bring a tear to my eye!” As the woman spoke a single tear slipped out from under her blindfold and rolled down her pale cheek.

The woman striding into the room was none other than Pyria, an elven woman who was centuries older than the next oldest person alive. However not a single wrinkle or blemish appeared on her face, giving her the look of a young woman.

Pyria is the sole person who held the power to not only summon all three kings but to also make them bow to her. This was because she carried the extremely rare power of future sight and had helped each of them to avoid disaster for their kingdoms, while also repairing the tensions between the three kings.

She approached the brazier with a soft hum as the three kings straightened up and took a few steps back.

“Ma’am it is a great honor to be summoned by you once again.” The first one who had spoken was Aurelianus, yet again.

“May I be so bold as to ask why you have summoned us here, ma’am?” Aywin’s voice followed up right after Aurelianus had spoken.

A small laugh escaped from Pyrai’s lips as she turned her head to each of the three kings, studying them with something other than eyesight. The laugh soon ended as a small frown was placed upon her lips before she spoke.

“Hmm I am disappointed, I wanted to see the lovely Queen’s as well.” The three kings began to mutter apologies to her before she cut them off and continued to speak. “Oh don’t worry yourselves! I understand all too well why you had left them behind, besides all three of you are much too young to start developing worry lines.”

“To answer Aywin’s questions I have summoned you three to impart crucial knowledge unto you. My greatest master has bestowed upon me a great prophecy and the knowledge of who is required to fulfill it. While I cannot recite the prophecy until they all have gathered I can at least tell you who to gather.”

Pyria reached her hand out towards the brazier and a second later a black flame erupted from its center, searching well over ten feet in the air. She began to recite the names given to her as the flames contorted to match her words.

“The man forsaken by the divine elements: Auguste Einhardt

One who peers into the future: Dahei Nakamura

The epitome of truly, absolute wasted strength: Bolo Jin

The last pure blooded Ferrar: Jarnomi Gongir Ferrar

Twin elves born under the royal crescent moon: Sol-Andrea twins.”

Both Thurdroick and Aurelianus turned their gazes towards the pale-faced Aywin, whose eyes had gone wide with surprise. The elven king had curled his hands into fists as he took several deep breaths before forcing himself to speak.

“My children eh?... Pyria, can you promise me that they will be safe? That they won’t be in harm's way?”

“I’m sorry my dear Aywin… I cannot promise anything because my master has prevented me from seeing into the future regarding this.” The elven woman approached Aywin and gathered him into a hug, trying to comfort him.

A few moments later Aywin pushed away from Pyria and took a deep breath before asking another question.

“When do we need to gather these people?”

“In two weeks time they need to be gathered here.” Pyria set down two nondescript discs and looked towards the other kings. “Thurdroick and Aurelianus when you gather the members use those discs to teleport back to this room.”

The two kings picked the discs up and inspected them carefully, their expressions filled with wonder and excitement.

Aurelianus spoke up, “Where did you get such artifacts? I thought that they were merely rumors such as Imara?”

Pyria shook her head slightly, “I am unsure of their origins, my master gifted them to me for this purpose. He does want them back however.”

“Of course ma’am, these are such amazing gifts… How are we supposed to find the members though?” Thurdroick finally asked the question that the others had been wondering this entire time but didn’t want to ask, in case Pyria doubted their abilities.

“Bolo and Jarnomi are in Stanlow,

Dahei and Auguste are currently in Lutharia but will be traveling to Stanlow within the next few days.

As for the last two… Aywin can take care of his children.”

After giving the locations of each member Pyria smiled once more at the kings before turning around and striding out of the room, her head still held high with an immense aura of confidence.
