16 Servant of Zernebog

She instantly appears on the other side. The portal exits to a massive, luxurious room with balconies that have chairs and tables on them. The floor is made of marble tiles, covered with red rugs. There's altars too. Altars to all of the gods, and they're more beautifully decorated and crafted than any she has ever seen before. Around the portal exit are 5 more portals, and they face each other in a pentagon shape. The altars are in between them. One portal entrance is larger than all the others, but currently inactive.

A huge, at least 3 meter tall bird like demon is hunching over a black magic staff. Its appearance is unsettling to Misa, who isn't even half its size.

Greetings. Thou wanteth to leave, yes? Tell me, what is thou name?

Misanthria.

Not a familiar name. Thou areth not from noble blood, most certainly.

Why does thou seeketh to leave thee Arcana kingdom Misanthria, haveth not mine servants treateth thou kindly?

Can't you just let me go. I don't like it here, it's horrible. There's slaves and cannibalism everywhere, everyone betrays everyone, there's constant fighting, there's never any peace or calm. All of my friends are dead.

Kakakaka, the demon laughs.

But Misanthria, such is thee plane thou existed ineth. Thou areth naive much liketh a child. Very well then, leave as thou wish. But thou must knoweth thee following, thee Arcana kingdom is the only place where thou areth tolerated. Us we areth home to demons, feline, humans, elves, valkyrie, anything thou mind can thinketh of. Thou thinketh the other kingdoms would tolerate thou existence? Thou chooseth a life of solitude and hiding. Thei haveth conspireth against us we and they seeketh to exterminate all of us we. Very well then. There's a map on this table here, placeth thee crystal circle on a location thou liketh, then Karawan will activate thee portal. He says, pointing to the largest portal entrance.

Whomth knows, mayhaps thee will reign chaos on thee allied kingdoms before thee passes. Mine sources tell Karawan thou hath defeated one of thee high priests and destroyeth thee main Arcane temple, a formidable fighter, most certainly.

The bird-demon walks away to the distance, where it sits down on a large throne and drinks a red liquid from a chalice, watching Misa.

Misa picks a location. She doesn't know any of these places, she's never even seen a map of the world before. She picks a place with a forest, because she likes animals.

Then she walks over to the death altar to make a final blood sacrifice. She slits her wrist.

What action are thou taking?! The creature screams. Her blood hits the altar, and its symbols begin to glow.

Thou hath been sacrificing to thee death altars, it was thou who activated the death altars, why Karawan must ask? Whom hath taught thou to undertake such actions?! The bird creature panics and hastily walks over to Misa, then pushes her aside from the map.

I was told to do so, she says anxiously.

The altar starts to glow more brightly.

A most dire situation, thee hath forsaken Karawan. The creature hastily places the teleporter's object somewhere else on the map, a small island far from Satharak, then starts reciting a long spell as the largest, inactive portal starts to glow and a small portal in its center begins to expand.

In the midst of his spell recital one of the other 4 portals begins to glow with purple light. He interrupts his spell to talk.

It is too late, curses be upon thou. Dire consequences areth to be experienced. He falls to his knees and faces the portal.

The portal opens, on the other side the inside of a large dark temple is visible, with many black crystals and purple death symbols. It sucks in all the warmth of the room. A massive, tentacled creature moves out of it. It has several eyes and is dark purple, nearly black. It's about 4 meters tall, and 2 meters wide. It looks horrifying.

It communicates telepathically with Misa and bird-like demon.

I am Ahriman, loyal servant to the god of death for 10902 years. The blood of demons has been spilled prompting further investigation, and thereby my presence. The status of the altars in this plane of existence, best described as alarming.

Lord Ahriman, it is merely a false alarm. This half demon here's must hath activated the altars, thee situation is under control, thou presence not required. Worry not, Karawan will make sure to punish thee human adequately.

Misanthria, for your selfless servitude and loyalty to the god of death, as our most loyal servant in the plane of Essanys, I grant you the gift of immortality. A purple aura surrounds Misa. From now on you will not age, and you will not die. Every part of you is immortal. If you were to receive lethal harm, your body will simply re-enter an unharmed state. You are effectively unable to enter a state of death, thereby forcing the god of life to accept you.

Karawan, I require an immediate explanation to the true status of this plane.

Yes my lord. Us we overthrew thee forces of the most prominent human kingdom, thei magical prowess best described as quite advanced. Advanced to a degree, thei were able to form a resistance to our forces. Us we sought to seek a truce, learn from them, create stronger warriors, that us we did. For my kin, they desired to be stronger. No longer do us we wish to be controlled by the other beings. With aid of these technological advancements us we hoped, us we could perhaps advance. Us we aided them, they aided us, that us we did. Created several lesser species, all under control.

Your forces are tasked with exterminating the magically enriched, not assist them. That you should know of, Lord Ahriman replies.

Yes my lord, us we did know. It was a desperate attempt. Us we suffer under thee masters control. Mine folk were unhappy, which led to this cooperation. This plane has gone far out of control, us we removed all altars to to the god of death that we could find, we hid them. If worship waned, we could remain in power, so we supposed. Us we misled you, and Karawan deeply apologises.

You misled us by preventing the demons from using our altars, thereby hiding your true losses and the desperation of your situation, for your own selfish benefits.

I will exterminate all of your kind from this plane. And from here on out you will be permanently silenced, thereby preventing your usage of magicks. Ahriman recites a spell as he absorbs all the mana from Karawan and contains it in a massive crystal.

Misanthria, as the most loyal follower, you will command the further extermination in this plane of existence and report to me.

Karawan, you will witness the extermination of your kind, and then you too will be removed from existence. I will close all portals to other planes on this plane so that none may escape and share the information they have obtained in this plane. You will obey Misanthria for your remaining existence.

This entire plane has grown far too powerful, potentially hindering great lord Zernebog, and our followers. All have to perish, so that this plane may be harvested.

To be continued.
