In my previous life, I was Kazuki Nakamura, your average overweight computer nerd working at a local tech firm. I lived in Tokyo at the time of my death, and as far as deaths go, it wasn't particularly glorious. I was out celebrating with a few work buddies of mine who were also game junkies. After downing one too many drinks, I decided to take a walk along the streets of Tokyo to sober up a bit. As I walked, the streets were strangely devoid of people. It was around 3 am at the time and the cold air was doing nothing for my drunken stupor. I was looking forward to getting home and jumping into bed. But fate had other ideas.

When I was about ten minutes away from my house, I walked across the empty street with not cars in sight. When I reached the middle of the road a car that was speeding evading the police turned the corner and crashed straight into me. I died almost instantly and that's the end of my story.

But...it doesn't end there. It feels like an eternity, but when I finally opened my eyes, I was in an all white empty room. I didn't seem to feel any pain but I was puzzled to where I was. Suddenly, a woman appeared in front of me, wearing what seemed to be a hospital gown.

She had long flowing navy blue hair with a silver shine and was about 5.5ft. She had a slim body and a face that I would describe as a ten out of ten. She opened her mouth and said "Ahh.. you finally woke up. My name is Lumina, Goddess of creation. I am the one who created everything, starting from Earth and everything else you know, and now your universe. Well...you probably know the whole speech already so I'll skip the details"

"Hmmm... pleasure to meet you, I assume you know who I am"

"Yes, and that is why I have a proposition for you. Would you like to come to my world and become a God?"

"What... you just going to say it out like that? What's the reason your proposing this to me out of all people?"

"I am sure you have heard this question before, but the reason is that the system I have put into place, is about to collapse. I created many worlds, but I was only able to create three gods. One of the gods namely, Nyxara the Primordial Goddess of Shadows, betrayed me and I can't find anyone else suitable for the position"

"What is the purpose of the system then?"

"As a god, your task is to maintain the balance of the universe. Defeat Nyxara in battle and I shall bestow the title of Goddess Of Light on you"

"Hold on did you say Goddess... I'm a man not a women, why should I have to be a women in the new world?

"The system requires it, I am afraid that is not something I can change"

"Fine... but why choose me though? Is there no one else better?"

"Well, there was another candidate but she died"

"Oh, sorry to hear that. Fine, Hmm... fine I'll take your offer"

"Good, I hope you don't mind the change of gender. You'll have to make some sacrifices after all. If you succeed in this, I will bestow you with your title"

"Ok, I'll do it, what's the point in refusing. So what happens now? Are you just going to drop me on the new world or..."

"Well, I have explained your objective which you must complete. Now is the fun part of creating your new body and placing your soul inside it. Oh and also the gender change. Now close your eyes and relax. You won't be able to feel a thing"

Lumina started pushing magical energy from her hands. The light was so bright that I had to close my eyes.

"It's done, please look into the mirror"

I looked into the mirror and saw my new appearance. I was beautiful. Like...really beautiful. My hair was long, flowing and lavender with streaks of pink running through it. My eyes were also the coloured like lavender. My skin was pale and flawless. I was shocked at first, but I got used to it pretty fast. I was a woman, but I was by no means unhappy.

"This is amazing! I look like a Goddess. This will take a while to get used to"

"I tried my best to make you as beautiful as possible. Your mana capacity is also incredibly large, giving you a good chance against Nyxara and her Abyssal Spellblade. Due to your mana capacity, your body is a celestial body. A human body or any other race wouldn't be able to contain your mana and it would have exploded. Now, before we move on. What is your new name?"

"Oh... right. Hmm... can you suggest me one? I'm not that creative and I suck at naming things"

"How about Aveline?"

"Sure, I like that name. Nice to meet you, my name is Aveline"

"Alright then, it's time to choose your abilities then choose the spells you will be start with. You can have 4 abilities, 4 common spells, 3 unique spells and 2 ultimate spells"

"Hmm, let's start with the abilities then. What is the difference between abilities and common spells?"

"Abilities are your innate powers, something that defines you. They can range from controlling shadows to being able to wield the powers of the stars"

"So basically, they are unique and cannot be copied"

"That is correct. Now, have you decided on your abilities"

"Well, I'll need to hear them before choosing. Also, what are the requirements for being a God?"

"Requirements?"

"Yeah, how do I become a god exactly?"

"There are no requirements. You just need to defeat Nyxara and prove yourself to me"

"Hmm, I'll have to think about it then. So the abilities, I'll hear them out and then decide"

"Very well then, here are the abilities available to you. Astral Embodiment, Chronomancer's Veil, Eternal Soul, Starfall Cataclysm, Ethereal Ascension and Aegis of the Goddess"

"Well, the names are self explanatory. Can you tell me more about them?"

"Of course, Astral Embodiment, allows you to become one with the universe. You can become one with any star and draw power from it"

"So, it's basically a way for me to increase my mana and use the star's powers. Next"

"Ethereal Great Sage, allows you to cast spells of all power without the need for chanting the incantation. You will have access to all the knowledge in the universe. However, the amount of spells you can cast will depend on your mana reserves but that won't be a problem for you"

"Interesting. Next"

"Eternal Soul, is exactly as it sounds. You will have an eternal life, not even the strongest attack can kill you, but there is still a limit"

"What's the limit?"

"If your body is destroyed beyond repair, your soul will cease to exist. It will be transported to the astral plane, where you will spend an eternity"

"Hmm... the next"

"Aegis of the Goddess, allows me to protect you and give you a small boost of power and health"

"Hmm... interesting"

"Starfall Cataclysm, allows you to harness the powers of stars and send down a beam of light onto a single location"

"I like that ability"

"Then the last one, Ethereal Ascension allows you to become one with the ether and travel through the astral planes. You can't do anything there and only gods have this ability. You can also use this ability to hide in plain sight and teleport anywhere you want"

"I guess I'll take that one then"

"Very well then, have you decided on your abilities yet?"

"Hmm... I'll take the Aegis of the Goddess, Ethereal Great Sage, and Starfall Cataclysm. I think it'll be enough to get me through"

"That is a wise decision. Now, it's time to choose your common spells"

"I'll choose Water: Icicle Shard, Water: Aqua Barrier and Shadow: Void Devourer. I'll save my unique spells for later"

"Hmm, ok then. Now, you have chosen your 4 common spells, 3 unique spells and 2 ultimate spells. Here are your 3 unique spells, Solar Flare, Blinding Flash and Eclipse of the Stars. These are quite strong and should get you through your fights"

"Hmm, thanks. I think this should be enough"

"Lastly, the two ultimate spells. Do you have any preferences?"

"Let's see... Cosmic Obliteration and Nova Burst. I think those will do"

"Very well then. The transfer will now begin, please relax. Good luck in the new world, Aveline. I hope you achieve your task, i will keep checking in on you via dreams and visions"

"Thanks, Lumina. I won't fail you"

And then my life in the new world began.
