I awoke to a familiar warning.

"Looks like a monster is coming"

I got up and looked around, and a small wolf-like creature appeared from the trees. the creature ran away when it saw me.

"Damn, that scared the hell out of me"

I looked around, and the sun was rising.

"Looks like it's almost dawn. Time to make my way to the dungeon, which direction was it again?"

"Alright, time to go"

I began walking and the scenery began to change. The trees became less dense and were replaced with grassy fields.

"Looks like I'm leaving the forest. Hopefully, the dungeon isn't too far"

I continued walking, and the scenery changed from the forests, to rocky terrain.

"It looks like a mountain range. Is the dungeon here?"

"Abyssal Tunnels huh? Interesting. So, what can I expect to find there"

"Sounds fun. Do you think I can defeat the lich?"

"I see. So, I'm already strong I just need to use the right approach"

I continued walking and came across a signpost.

"Hmm... 'The Abyssal Tunnels: DANGEROUS, DO NOT ENTER' huh? Sounds like my kind of place"

I chuckled and continued walking towards the entrance of the dungeon.

"Looks like I found the entrance. Now, how do I get in?"

"That's convenient"

I walked up to the large stone doors and placed my hand on it.

"Okay, here goes nothing"

I began to channel mana into the doors, and a magic circle on the door glowed a faint blue light.

"Hm.. seems this dungeon is a labyrinth. I wanted to avoid a labyrinth but I guess Lumina wouldn't send me into a situation I couldn't handle, I hope"

I watched as the magic circle on the door slowly faded, and the stone doors creaked open.

"Looks like the dungeon is now active. Well, time to get started"

I walked through the stone doors and entered the Abyssal Tunnels.

The Abyssal Tunnels were a maze-like dungeon filled with traps and monsters.

I walked through the entrance, and the air was filled with a cold mist.

"Hmm... looks like it's pretty dark in here. Maybe I should use my common spell "Abyssal Vision" to see in the dark. It should be useful here"

"That's not good. Looks like I can't use it continuously. Wait, I thought if I channel enough mana into my spell it should extend its range and time limit"

"Yeah, I know that. Anyway, time to get started"

I cast Abyssal Vision, and the area around me was bathed in a dark purple hue.

"Alright, looks like this place is a bit different. It seems like the walls are made of a strange black metal, and the floor is covered with a strange white mist"

The area around me was an endless maze-like corridor, with several branching paths.

"Alright, let's get started. Which path should I take?"

"Right, I forgot about that. Well, better start moving"

I headed down the left path then I took a right and found myself at a crossroads.

"Left, right or straight?"

"Okay, thanks"

I went straight, and I could see a faint red light coming from the other end. I haven't came upon any monsters yet but considering how monsters spawn in heavy mana concentrated areas, following the mana concentration with Abyssal Vision will lead me right to them.

"I wonder what kind of monsters live here? Hmm.. maybe there's a map or something around here"

"Seriously? Damn"

"Well, that's handy. Alright, let's try it"

I activated my ability "Ethereal Great Sage".

My vision distorted and everything turned white, then suddenly everything became clearer and brighter.

"This is incredible"

"I see a lot of treasure. This place is like a treasure trove"

I walked down the corridor and noticed a large figure. It was a humanoid-looking monster, it stood around 2 metres tall, had blood-red eyes, and a pair of wings on its back.

"What the fuck is that thing?"

"A demon? I thought those were a myth"

"Interesting, well let's see if I can defeat them"

I pulled out my daggers and channelled mana into them so they extend. I resume the signature shadow style combat pose.

The imp looked at me and let out a deafening roar, then it charged towards me.

"You're not so tough"

I was going to use my offensive sword technique "Blade of Death". The attack is overpowered for this monster considering its a God-Class attack.

"Shit"

I quickly channelled mana into the Abyssal Vision and had to use my defensive sword technique "Shadow Veil" which causes me to blur the target's vision and make my movements seem impossible to track. It was too late to use "Blade Of Death">

The imp was enraged and began slashing at the air in a wild frenzy.

I took that opportunity to swiftly move behind the imp and stabbed it in the back.

The imp howled in pain and turned around to face me.

"Looks like you're pissed, but that won't stop me from killing you"

I channelled mana into the dagger, and the blade grew to its maximum size. and then I used my offensive sword technique "Blade Of Death"

The imp was split apart in an instant, and its body dissolved into a black mist.

"I guess they aren't that tough after all"

"Fuck, more monsters?"

I quickly scanned the surrounding area, and a group of 6 Imps were standing in a line. They were all staring at me with a menacing look in their eyes.

"Guess there's no running away"

The Imps charged towards me and started swinging their claws wildly.

I dodged their attacks and used my "Void Devourer" common spell for creating a portal that sucked the Imps in.

"Wow, that was easy"

I collected the loot and headed towards the second floor. There wasn't any treasure on the first floor probably due to it being the beginner floor.

"So, what's the second floor like?"

"Sounds fun. Lets destroy them"

"Gotcha"

I headed down the stairs and into the second floor.

I saw a zombie wandering aimlessly around.

I used my "Icicle Shard" common spell and threw an icicle at the zombie, the zombie fell to the ground in an instant.

"Damn, this is too easy. I bet the higher levels will be more fun"

I explored the floor, and there was a large cavern filled with treasure chests and loot boxes.

I was able to defeat the monsters that appeared and collect their loot, I gained some nice items from the monsters I defeated.

The monsters were mostly zombies and skeletons, the latter were a bit harder to deal with but I was able to defeat them without much effort.

I reached the end of the floor and saw a staircase leading down.

"Well, that was easy. But I doubt the third floor will be as easy. Well, time to head further in"

I headed down the stairs and entered the third floor.

The third floor was an open cavern filled with a dense fog.

"This is different"

I used my "Abyssal Vision" again, and I could see better, however the fog was still pretty thick.

"This is a pain. If I knew a simple wind spell then I could blow the fog away. I wonder if "Ethereal Great Sage" knows any incantations for any wind spells.

"Okay, and do you know any wind spells I can use"

Do my bidding, let your power show.">

"Alright, let's give it a try"

I recite the incantation and a gust of wind blew the fog away revealing a massive chamber.

"That worked, good job Ethereal Great Sage"

"You're welcome, anyway let's keep moving"

I walked deeper into the chamber and saw a group of Imps patrolling the area.

"Looks like these Imps are stronger"

"I'm always careful"

I used her "Void Devourer" common spell, a small rift opened in the floor beneath the Imps, causing them to fall in and get swallowed.

"That was easy"

"Looks like they are coming from all sides. Guess I'll just kill them"

"Oh yeah, Ethereal Great Sage can you make a list of my spells and abilities"

A group of skeletons appeared, each carrying a weapon.

"Looks like I'll have to use an ability"

"Oh, you're back"

"Yeah, sorry. I just needed some time alone"

"That's fine, just make sure you don't disappear for too long"

"I'll try"

"Okay, anyway. Time to go"

I was standing at the entrance to the third floor. I started pouring mana into my daggers watching as the blade grew in length and performed the shadow style combat pose.

A group of 6 skeletons came running towards me.

"Here we go"

I charged at the skeletons and used the offensive sword technique "Blade of Death." The entire group skeletons were split apart instantly, their bones turning to dust.

"Too easy"

"Time to head further in"

"A powerful monster? Sounds like a challenge"

I headed deeper into the third floor, defeating the monsters and collecting their loot.

I continued fighting until I came to a stairway leading down to the fourth floor.

"Holy shit, that's a lot of monsters"

"Right, better start fighting"

I ran towards the monsters and used the offensive sword technique "Blade of Death," destroying the monsters instantly.

"So, the boss room is on the sixth floor and the entrance to the fifth floor is on the other side of the fourth floor I assume. Better hurry"

I used "Void Devourer" on the remaining monsters and continued on my way, defeating the monsters and collecting their loot.

"Wow, there's a lot of treasure down here. I've got a ton of gold coins and weapons"

"Right. I'm doing that"

"Okay, that's a lot"

I found the hidden treasure chest and opened it, inside was a strange looking gem.

"This is a weird looking gem. What is it?"

"Oh wow, that sounds awesome"

I placed the gem in my bag, and then I collected all the loot from the boxes and chests. It seems I have collected enough mana crystals to leave.

I used "Void Devourer" to get rid of the remaining monsters and then I headed down to the fifth floor.

"Yeah, yeah. I got it"

I headed deeper into the fifth floor, and I could hear the sound of footsteps.

"Looks like something's coming. Let's see what it is"

I activated my ability "Ethereal Great Sage" and began walking down the corridor.

The footsteps got louder and louder, and a figure emerged from the shadows.

"So, we meet again"

It was the S+-class monster, a dragon.

"Right, I'll try to be careful"

I ran towards the dragon and used my offensive sword technique "Blade Of Death" the dragon roared in pain, and retaliated with a magic beam of energy.

I used my "Starfall Cataclysm" ability, and the magic beam didn't overpower the dragons attack. I tried pumping as much mana out my hands as possible and I was able to overpower the dragons beam. This ability needs a lot of mana to be effective, at least my mana is an endless pit

"Looks like I won't be able to kill it without a bit of struggle"

"Let's try another ability"

I used my ultimate spell "Cosmic Obliteration" and the beam hit the dragon, it howled in pain.

"Alright, now to finish you off"

I was going to use "Blade Of Death" but the dragon started thrashing around, I managed to dodge its attacks but I wasn't able to counter attack.

"Looks like this will be a little harder than I thought"

The dragon was able to get a few hits in, and I could feel myself getting weaker.

"Damn it, looks like I need a plan"

I decided its time to finish it, I had the perfect spell to use. I made some distance between me and the dragon and pushed a crazy amount of mana into my daggers, I then pointed them towards the storm dragon and used my most powerful spell I have "Nova Burst". Its an ultimate spell that creates a huge sphere of celestial energy. Once it is released it will explode in a devastating burst of cosmic power.

The sphere impacted the storm dragon and caused a massive explosion, I was thrown back by the blast but managed to land in a shadow style combat pose.

"I defeated it! Hell yeah! That was awesome. So, what's this about a new ability?"

"Abyssal Flame huh? Interesting. I wonder if I can somehow take the spells and abilities of the dragon I just defeated. Like absorbing them.

"Great! So, let's try it"

I channelled my mana and cast "Void Devourer" and a portal to the void opened up in front of me, a dark aura surrounded the dragon and it disappeared into the void.

"Sweet, looks like I just gained a new ally"

"Damn, I already had plenty of mana, now I have 3 times more"

"That's really nice"

"That's a nice reward"

I looked around and noticed that the area was covered in rubble.

"This place looks a mess, the storm dragon really did a number on the place"

"Better collect the loot and move on"

I went around collecting the items, then I headed to the end of the fifth floor. The dragon was a challenge I can't imagine how strong the Lich king is.

I found the stairway leading to the sixth floor and went down.

"Right. I'm ready. Let's go"

I continued down the stairs, and the air became cold and dense.

"I'm fine. I'm used to the cold"

I continued walking until I came across a massive stone door.

"Looks like I've arrived"

"Of course, I want to proceed. This is my chance to become stronger and defeat Nyxara"

"I got it, just open the doors and let's get this started"

The doors creaked open and a dark mist began to pour out.

"Well, looks like he knows I'm here"

I walked into the room and saw a man wearing a black cloak and thick shiny armour, his skin was white, and his eyes were glowing blue.

"Looks like the boss is waiting for me"

"I see you have arrived"

"Yeah, I'm here to destroy you"

"Hahaha, you are nothing but a speck of dust compared to me"

"We'll see about that"

"Then, come and face me, mortal"

"You asked for it"

"Huh.. I don't understand"

My body started glowing white and a set of white armour with gold accents materialised around my body.

"Whoa, this is amazing"

"This is really awesome. Well, time to fight this guy"

I charged at the Lich King and used my offensive sword technique "Blade of Death."

"Tch"

I slashed at the Lich King, but he blocked the attack with his sword.

"So, you are a warrior huh"

"I'm not just a warrior"

"Oh, is that so. Let's see what else you can do"

I used the "Starfall Cataclysm," the Lich King's arm was blown off by the spell, and his body was burned.

"Impressive. But I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve"

"Well, let's see them"

"As you wish"

"Tch"

I activated "Void Devourer", and a rift opened beneath the lich king and attempted to pull him in but he was able to escape with ease.

"Nice trick"

"Thanks, but that won't work again"

"Let's see what else you have"

I activated my ability "Ethereal Ascension" and travelled through the Astral plane, appearing behind the Lich king and activating my offensive sword technique "Blade of Death", the lich kings torso was cut in half.

"Impressive, but you can't hide from me"

I watched as the lich's torso reformed.

"That's new. Time to finish this"

I activated my ability "Shadow Blade" and conjured a blade of pure shadow. I was surprised when it appeared in my hand. The blade was my ideal size, I decided to put away my daggers and wield the shadow blade in both hands.

"Time to die"

"I don't think so"

I ran at the Lich king and sliced his body into pieces with my shadow blade, however his body just kept regenerating.

"Tch, this guy is annoying"

"I have a trick up my sleeve"

The Lich King's body grew to twice its original size, he was now about 8 meters tall.

"This is a special form that I created. It's called the 'Dreadlich'"

"What the hell is a Dreadlich?"

"You will find out soon enough"

"Alright then, let's do this"

"Hmph, I'll show you my power"

The Dreadlich began to charge up a large ball of dark energy.

"Time to die"

I charged at the Lich and activated my ability "Shadow Blade", slashing at the lich. The attack didn't seem to hurt him much, and his regeneration was still going.

"Damn, this is tough"

The Lich finished charging the energy ball, and it began to grow rapidly, and I could feel the pressure building.

"This isn't good"

The Lich fired the energy ball at me, and I quickly shouted "Divine Shield!"

"Hahahaha, you think that little shield can stop my attack?"

"We'll see about that"

"Heh, I'm gonna destroy you"

I focused all my mana into the barrier, and it began to glow with a golden light.

"Impossible!"

The Lich's attack was repelled, and his body was destroyed.

"Looks like you underestimated me"

"How?!"

"You are not the only one with a secret weapon"

I charged at the Lich, using my offensive sword technique "Blade of death" once more, the Lich was cut in half.

"You may have won, but you can't kill me"

"If you believe I can't kill you then you are wrong"

"No, you won't be able to"

"You won't be able to regenerate if I turn you to ashes"

I channelled my mana through my body and activated my ultimate spell "Nova Burst"

"Impossible, how can a mortal know this kind of magic?"

"I'm not just a normal mortal"

"I see"

"Looks like your body won't regenerate"

"You won't kill me. I have the power of the shadows on my side"

"Not anymore"

"Tch"

The blast from my spell sent me flying back. there was a giant crater in the ground with nothing but dust remaining.

"Well, that was a bit overkill"

"Nice, this is great"

"Well, I guess it's time to go back to the adventure guild in Valorian City. I hope they have another mission for me"

I walked through the entrance to the dungeon, and the sunlight was blinding after spending so long underground.

"Now, time to go home"

"I will never step foot into the Abyssal Tunnels again. I'm done with dungeons"

"Thanks"

Aveline left the Abyssal Tunnels and made her way back to Valorian City.
