Orders of WILL
Solha- the start

Solha- the start

As Jorun gazed at the towers of WILL peaking over the top of the walls of Solha, he admired the play of light between the towers. Coloured a deep royal purple, the light played within his deep Alexandrite coloured eyes.

Flicking his long deep auburn hair out of his eyes, he continued walking along the cobble stone road teeming with merchants, peasants and sightseers.

As he got closer to the open gates spanning thirty feet, he saw the guards of Solha, dressed in plate mail coloured purple by the journeyman blacksmiths of the academy of Will, wearing long tabards the colour of white, with the emblem of the city, three towers connected by purple lines on a field of red. A long sword, in a gold coloured sheaf, hung on the waist of the three guards conducting random searches.

As Jorun neared towards the open gates, he noticed a slightly doughty man sitting on his cart asked to step down. As the man eased folding steps to the floor to help him descend from his cart, a guard asked to search his goods.

“ Of course my good man, not really much to look at. But it is my lively hood” the man replied. Shaking out the creases in his coat and hiking up his belt Jorun noticed him tap his purse hanging on his belt slightly. The guard also saw this and a slight smile appeared on his face.

Jorun walked past the two into the city, staring in awe at the wide avenue stretching straight forward. Although he had seen this countless times when he accompanied his father on trips to bring the merchants there latest catch of skins, he still was always dumbfounded by the majestic city rising up around the avenue. Tall buildings for residents of the city, classically decorated, formed the first section. Beyond that was spaces for the various parks where people walked, rested and picnicked. Rising in the middle of the parks where renditions of various animals shooting plumes of water into the sky. The park he could see from where he was walking down the wide avenue was packed with people relaxing in the evening heat, some where sitting on the edge of the massive eagle fountain dressed in marble. Nobles dressed in gaudy finery relaxed on blankets being served there picnic by maids, guarded by hired mercerises. To Jorun this seemed like a recipe for disaster, who would be stupid enough to hire protection from mercenaries Normally he would be correct, however unbeknown to him and many others, was when they signed a contract a WILL practitioner would bind them.

Walking along the avenue Jorun, after walking down the avenue for 5 minutes, passed the park into the marketplace from this approach to the city. Looking around at the many stalls operated by the merchants hawking there wares at the throng of people in the massive plaza, Jorun was once again amazed at the things he was seeing. Enclosing the plaza where trees unknown anywhere else, tall trees with a deep blonde colour to there bark. Different shaped leaves following a mind boggling geometric pattern the colour of azure reached for the deep blue of the overarching sky. A deep sense of peace and contentment flooded into Jorun as he stepped within plaza.

Looking around at the people of various stature within the plaza, Jorun started to walk in a particular direction. On the way he saw stalls selling food, weapons and armour forged by the blacksmiths of WILL, beauty products, various souvenirs, gems, clothes, potions made by the alchemists of WILL.

On his way to a certain stall Jorun heard snippets of conversation, many talking about the possibility of war between the city state of Solha and Gal. Others where discussing the merits and prices of the things on display. Still others where speaking of the members of WILL, and what they have done for the betterment of Solha.

Jorun heard a snippet of conversation between two nobles, discussing the situation with a rouge WILL user. Although he would have liked to listened further into there conversation, Jorun was however dissuaded from that by the two mercenaries looking at him.

From the various things his father had told him Jorun knew this was a bad situation, especially if this rouge WILL user had a strong WILL.

He remembered one tale where it took five masters of WILL to take down one, leaving a sphere half a mile where the laws of physics where warped, leaving it uninhabitable. This struck home to him exactly why Will practitioners where so heavily bound by oaths performed by the grandmasters.

Jorun finally arrived at the stall he had come to see, manned by a slighty skinny man with lank brown hair framing a face bronzed by the sun. Mellow blue eyes gazed at Jorun from under a thicket of hair half covering his eyes of softly blown by the wind. The man tapped his forehead to the young man in front him, then straightened his jacket. The man was dressed quite normally considering where they where. Dressed in muted brown leather pants, thin yellow cotton shirt open at the neck revealing swirling tribal tattoes. over this he wore a waistcoat decorated with floral embroidery of soft green.
