Operation Rise
5:Abnormal

5:Abnormal

Ameila stared down a man with two katanas behind his waist. He wore a black kimono and had short black hair, as well as blue eyes.

"Quite pale are ya?" Amelia asked, the man's eyes narrowing.

"So, what's your name?" She asked in a playful manner.

The man sighed, "I suppose I should tell you, seeing that we're going to be opponents. My name is Inaro Yoshinaka."

"Ahh! Okay! My name is Six." She said in the same playful manner.

Inaro slowly drew his katanas, getting into a stance.

"I already know you're not normal. Even with body enhancing magic, no human, or any other race that's not a brute can do the stuff you can do physically." Inaro said, looking behind her.

Behind her, was corpse after corpse. Some were even mutilated, quite crude as well.

"So, Six. Let me ask.... What are you?" Inaro raised a brow, inquiring of her race.

Amelia remained silent, only looking down slightly.

"No answer, hm? Well, you're obviously at least part of a race that's magical. That means of yours is being suppressed, yet it's still so intense. However, it's unstable... Meaning you probably can't control magic well. Judging by your speed and strength however, you're part of a more warrior bound race. That would also explain the instability..." Inaro rubbed his chin.

"You talk a little too much." Amelia took a step forward and disappeared.

Inaro's eyes widened, his instincts screamed at him to block from the left. He raised both of his katanas just in time for the punch not to actually strike his face.

He got sent through the wall, sliding across the dirt as he noticed he was in a field now.

Amelia stepped out from the hole, humming to herself as she flicked her glasses. "Come on dude, I know you can do better!"

Inaro stood up, coughing a little. His left hand was shaking from blocking an impact like that, but he steeled himself.

He dashed forward at a surprising speed, catching Amelia off guard.

He swung the right katana upward, breaking through Amelia's block.

She was caught off guard once more. "Did you get faster? Cute!" She giggled, which was soon replaced with an "Ouch!" As she got slashed across her torso.

She jumped backwards, landing on top of the building. Her wound began to heal, which caused Inaro's eyes to narrow

"No sign of healing magic... You're one of the Celestial or Abnormal races, correct?" Inaro raised a brow, Amelia once again refusing to answer.

"I see why you won't answer. Revealing what race you are means I can respond accordingly and take measures to go against you fairly. Judging by how you've been fighting so far... You like to toy with your opponents, even though you can kill them so easily. However, once your identity is at stake, you try to finish them off a-" Inaro was cut off by Amelia landing right next to him.

She reached out and grabbed his face, kicking him right in the gut and sending him flying back. He rolled on the ground but immediately got back up to his feet.

Amelia appeared in front of him, her arm cocked back.

Inaro blocked the first strike, a shock being sent throughout his body. The two began to clash for little, Inaro backing up.

"I have to strategize... As much as I hate to admit it, she's got the total upper hand in physicality." Inaro thought, sweat starting to form on his face. "If I get a look at her eyes, I can determine what race she is..."

Inaro stabbed his left katana into the ground, and sliced open his left palm. He coated the edge of the blade in blood, which slowly began to light on fire.

He picked up the other katana and got back into stance, the left katana starting to freeze.

"Oh! Interesting!" Amelia began to run forward, but Inaro was faster in this instance. He swung the left katana upward, aiming for her face, but she immediately stepped back.

He tried to slice her abdomen once more, but she caught the blade this time.

"Tricks don't work on me twice, sweetie." Amelia giggled, raising her leg in the air and brought it down.

Inaro was gone however, the blade of the right katana being held in her hand.

She looked up, seeing him drop down. He attempted to stab her, but she spun the katana around, grabbing it by the handle and blocking.

"Tch..." Inaro jumped back and dashed forward, doing a front flip and bringing down the Katana once more.

Amelia blocked again, and the two began to clash weapons once more. The sound of metal clashing filling the area.

Their slashes continued to get faster and faster, slash marks beginning to line the dirt beneath them.

Finally, Inaro saw an opening. He grabbed her wrist, struggling to keep her from continuing her attack.

He flipped his katana in hand, reversing the grip on it and swinging it upward, managing to get her face. Amelia dropped the katana she was holding and jumped back.

"AHH! MY FACE..!" She clenched her face, her shades falling off right down the middle. The gas mask was cut as well, though not enough to fall off.

"Just kidding..~" Amelia said, her wound immediately healing.

Inaro's eyes widened as he tried to gauge what he was looking at. "Wait... No... That can't be right. You're a hybrid, but... Your features.."

Amelia stared at him, her left eye having a green iris with blue narrowed pupil, and her right eye being the opposite.

"The only ones that have features like that are Demons... That strength that's comparable to yours in terms of physicality only can be from ogres or Oni... Judging by your eyes, it's the latter, right?" Inaro said, trying to inquire more.

"Actually... There's something off... There was a king who was the exact same hybrid, with the exact same eye colors; though the colors of the eyes were opposite of the eyes yours are on. That's not right... Are you related to him? He died over 3900 years ago." Inaro's eyes soon widened as he came to a revelation.

"Figured it out, huh?" She looked sympathetic, but began to giggle. "I'm a little different from the rest, as I'm only one side of the coin. You can deduce what I am, right?" She asked, crossing her arms.

"I've heard tales of people like you before. Not from the material plane, but instead manifest as others... You're-"

"An Alter. My actual name is Alter Amelia Novia. Now that you know, you die now. Though, I guess I'll grace you with who I really am. This is a sealed form after all." Amelia said, taking off her gas mask to reveal a twisted smile. Her teeth were sharper than the very blades Inaro wielded.

He felt her mana skyrocket, the pressure itself forcing him to the ground.

Amelia sighed and giggled, seeing hands cover her eyes as everything went dark.

Inaro struggled to look up, but once he did, he wished he didn't.

In front of him was Amelia, except something about her drove him insane. She looked very human, but he couldn't comprehend what he was looking at.

Amelia had longer, now blue hair that went down to her waist. She kept the uniform, although now it was dark blue. Her sclera in her eyes were blue, the iris being a lighter blue, and the pupils being a narrowed black. She had on a dark blue military cap on, having a blue and black coat over her shoulders.

"Y-you! Stay away! Please!" Inaro began to try and back up, but chains shackled his ankles. "Wh-what..? When did.."

"Should've kept your mouth closed." She said, her voice going from her usual playfulness to serious.

"Call me Alter Etikamoni. Or just Moni, not that it matters." A bright red spear was summoned overhead, aiming for his head.

Inaro realized something. He knew this wasn't a person from their world... No Outer Horrors are from the material plane. Meaning she had to have been from somewhere else.

His thoughts were cut off as he was impaled in the head.

Amelia went back to normal, looking at the body as she returned to normal. "Shit... That could've given away my position... Good thing mages are rare. Mason and Michael might've felt that though... They're each like... I dunno, quite far."

She took out spare glasses from her back pocket. They were round in frame and were polarized, making her eyes unseeable. She went back to the truck she came in and took another gas mask out of a bag she brought with her. "Ugh... Boys annoy me."
