Episode 4 – Legger

There is a creature on this planet that is very similar to a large bird on our planet.

Ostrich.

They call it “Ompu”.

A bird that looks like an ostrich. Large legs that specialized for running. They have wings but cannot fly. A long neck to look out for dangers.

However, the Ompu on this planet have two distinctive features that are different from our ostriches.

One, their bodies are much larger than ostriches. They can grow to almost the size of our elephants!

And the second distinctive feature is...

“What’s wrong, Wehng?”

The team leader asked the stout soldier next to the door with a slightly loud voice.

“Ompu!”

The stout soldier named Wehng looked away from the giant Ompu that was hundreds of meters away, and quickly answered his leader while swiped his palm across his neck.

However, his voice was rather quiet, coupled with the confusing hand signals, the five soldiers did not understand what he was trying to convey.

"Damn it...!!!"

Seeing that his teammates looked puzzled, Wehng cursed inwardly before glancing back outside the door again.

And Wehng’s heart almost stopped beating in that moment.

The giant bird Ompu was standing in front of the building next to the shop where they were resting.

Guk...guk...guk...

The female soldier Venz could not stand the confusion and slowly walked towards Wehng near the door.

The sound of her shoes was not very loud, but because the place was a small room, it echoed slightly.

Hearing that sound, Wehng quickly turned and signaled her to stop walking immediately.

And in that second, all the soldiers saw what was behind the small door and window.

They saw two pairs of large, dark black legs covered with scales walking in front of the door.

No one could hear anything!

Even though Ompu was as big as an elephant in our world, its magical feet had a lump of flesh underneath, helping to suppress the sound of its footsteps as if they were cat paws!

The Ompu lowered itself down. All of the soldiers could see its head had been cut off, leaving only red blood staining the fur around the base of its neck and a large, nasty wound.

Some of the soldiers who saw the wound felt disgust.

None of them dared to move even a little.

They didn't know why they acted so, but all they knew was that their instincts were telling them to stay still.

Bang…bang…

Ompoo lifted its body back and took a big step forward, but its foot hit the closed door, making a loud bang noise.

Everyone in the shop noticed the strange movement and slowly lowered their hands for the guns as quietly as possible, preparing to take on this monster.

Bang…bang…bang..bang…bangbang BangBangBang BANG!!!!

The large-legged monster used its feet to rub against the door again making the sound live on.

Within the next seconds, it changed from rubbing its feet to striking it, and from striking it to curling its toes, knocking the door.

Finally, it used that foot to kick the door violently, causing the door to fly inward.

"Open Fire!"

The moment the door flew in, the team leader shouted fiercely. The six soldiers opened fire on the monster simultaneously.

The monster was shocked by the sudden sounds and the impact from the bullets, so it backed off away from the storefront.

The soldiers immediately followed and kept the press.

"VenZ, you okay?!"

The female soldier who stopped Dren earlier ceased her firing and slowly walked back to check on her friend.

The store door was kicked in the direction she was standing. Fortunately, she ducked down just in time to avoid a serious impact, so her injuries were not too serious.

"I'm fine! Let's go!"

Venz quickly stood up with her gun and ran out to help.

"The bullets are ineffective!"

Dren said as his stress increased to the limit.

"Keep shooting!"

Wehng said with a slightly annoyed tone, but he still focused on the task.

After firing for a while, they found that the monster showed no sign of staying down. It kept shaking and swaying its body as if it was in pain.

"Reload!"

In the next second, the four soldiers regretted their actions.

Splatt!

“Nooooooo!”

The female soldier shouted in a heart-breaking tone, as her eyes turned red.

The four soldiers, aside from Venz and her friend, were keep on the firing, causing their ammo to run out first.

The moment they stopped shooting and were reloading, only Venz and the other female soldier were still shooting, the big-legged monster jumped towards them and stomped on Venz’ body.

“VennnnnnnnZ!”

The only surviving female soldier shouted in a resentful tone. They were not that far from each other, but the unlucky one was Venz, her friend.

The Ompu heard her shouting, so it turned to her and immediately charged.

“… sound……Sound!”

Wehng muttered to himself before shouting at the top of his lungs, causing The Ompu to stop running and turn to his direction.

“Come here, you piece of shit!”

Wehng shouted loudly again luring the monster away from his friend.

“Fire!”

The team leader saw the Ompu’s reaction and was certain that what Wehng said was correct.

With his cleverness, he immediately shouted to order everyone to rain down the bullet after seeing everyone finished their reloading.

“It can’t do anything if we make loud noises at the same time!”

While everyone was shooting and closing in on the enemy, the team leader shouted again to explain his subordinates. He looked at everyone and they gave him nods.

“In three yoangs, I’ll give you the signal to stop shooting!”

He shouted again after estimating that within three seconds, the bullets would run out. Although everyone started shooting almost at the same time, there was no guarantee that their bullets would run out at the same time, so the team leader thought of a way to make everyone stop shooting altogether for everyone’s safety.

However, he didn’t expect what’s going to happen next. The Ompu leaned forward and spread one leg out as far as it would go before spinning around, sweeping everything.

"Wehng!"

The leader shouted after seeing Wehng, who was closest to the monster, getting kicked and flew away until he couldn’t be seen.

The other male soldier next to Wehng reacted quickly by backing away.

"Aaaaahhhhhhh!"

However, The Ompu's claws grazed his hands, causing it to be torn apart along with the muzzle of his gun.

He felt his shoulder dislocate due to the force from his hands. His body fell to the ground. He tried to get himself back up, but his torn hands and dislocated shoulder made him unable to support himself.

He howled in pain.

The three remaining soldiers were lucky that its feet did not touch them. However, their bodies were blown several meters away.

After sweeping away everything around itself, the annoying sound finally disappeared.

“Huff, huff, huff... grrrrrr!”

The male soldier with the malformed hands tried to hold back his groan as much as possible. His breath was rapid and loud, but he also tried to make it as quiet as possible.

Unfortunately, the big-legged demon heard his breathing and felt curious and annoyed. It slowly walked towards him.

“Hey! Over there! You damn bastard!”

The furious male soldier was the first to regain his senses and saw that the demon was walking towards his friend, so he immediately shouted to distract it.

“Hey! Over here! Come at me!”

Crack!

“Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ARRRRRRGGGGHHH.”

SPLAT!

Dren quickly stood up and walked towards both his friend and the demon, while making loud noises to attract attention.

But it was too late. The demon had already reached his friend.

Its feet accidently crushed both of the man’s legs to pulp.

No matter how hard he tried to hold back the painful sound, his mouth had to howl as both his legs were crushed to mere lumps of flesh.

His loud scream caused the Ompu fiend to respond by stomping on his face, killing him instantly.

"Hey! Come over here, you Fucker!”

Dren took out something in a round shape from the pocket on his waist and shouted at the Demon at the top of his lungs.

The Big-legged Demon heard his voice, turned around, and ran towards him.

Dren was now quite far away from his two friends.

"Dren! Don't!"

"No, Dren!"

Both the leader and the last female soldier saw what was in Dren's hand and shouted at him.

"This is for Gaolahn!"

Dren saw the monster getting closer to him, hatred could be felt through the eyes staring at the Demon.

BOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!

Dren pressed the button on top of the round thing with his thumb.

An explosion emerged, scattering Dren and the Big-legged Demon’s remains all over the ground.
