Operation: Eelinum
Episode 3 – Lurker
----------------------------------------
“I fucking told you they sent us to die!”
Inside the small shop, Sergeant Dren was sitting with his back against the wall in a corner with both hands on his head.
He shouted loudly in anger.
They had already finished packing Kurg’s body into a bag.
The team leader had reported their loss a moment ago.
At this moment, everyone had turned off their flashlights to save the battery. Only one flashlight was shining to one corner of the shop.
The team leader was staring into the darkness beside where the light was shining, silently, as if he was thinking about something.
“Our object is to find survivors. We all know that we may not be able to return with 206 bones.. or 7. If you’re so scared, you can withdraw first.”
A stout male soldier said sarcastically.
He felt that Dren was acting too cowardly, so he felt annoyed.
“Hey.”
“I’ll fucking withdraw. But I’ll go back with your fucking body bag.”
Sergeant Dren stood up and walked towards the stout soldier with a hasty attitude. A female soldier saw that things were going south, so she tried to stop Dren.
The arrogant soldier spoke to the stout soldier with a hateful look and tone.
"Stop acting like a child and think about how that thing got Kurg!”
Another female soldier spoke with a fed-up attitude because how immature of her two friends.

The two soldiers stared at each other for a moment before turning their faces away from each other.
"... Shadow..."
The team leader spoke up while still staring at the dark corner.
"Come again, Captain?"
The female soldier who had stopped Dren earlier asked with a puzzled and disbelieving expression.
"That weird black thing... It might have emerged from shadow."
He spoke up again with a louder tone.
"A shadow..."
Another male soldier repeated as he thought about it.
"If it emerged from the shadow, why didn't it just attack us right away as soon as we entered? I don't get it. We shined the light in front of us. Anything other than the front would be considered a shadow. Right, Captain?"
Dren said with a frown. He felt that the assumption was not very reasonable.
"That's right...."
"Don't walk into the light, Venz!"
Another female soldier agreed with Dren before stepping forward to block the light from the flashlight.
However, her leader immediately shouted causing her to pause half way in shock.
..
"Hehehe..."
"Fucker!"
The male leader slowly extended his hand to block the light from the flashlight. In less than three seconds, a pair of mysterious eyes opened from the shadow cast by his hand.
It laughed softly at them. When Dren heard its mocking laughter, he was furious.
He rushed over and pulled out the dagger from his leg, hoping to stab it.
He cursed in anger.
But the team leader quickly turned off the flashlight.
"We got it, why did you fucking turn it off?!"
Dren shouted angrily.
“If that freak can stab through a muscular man and a thick bulletproof vest, your knife will definitely become its toothpick.”
The team leader said calmly.
.....
..
Dren sighed loudly and made a tsk sound with his mouth. He tried to calm himself down.
“I apologize for being thoughtless, Captain.”
After calming down, he apologized in a sincere voice.
“Hoh? You can think?”
The stout soldier sarcastically said again.
“I’m a fucking man, not a big-legged imbecile who was born to run away only,”
Dren sarcastically replied with a fierce tone.
“Our shadows are its door. Stop using the flashlight and use the infrared instead.”
The team leader said in a tone that seemed to imply can’t help it then press the button on his helmet to turn on the night vision.
“Understood, Capt-”
“Shh!”
“You’re asking fo-”
“Shh!”
Dren tried to confirm to his leader with a guilty tone. However, the stout soldier shushes at him abruptly.
Dren felt that he was really asking for it and became slightly angry before shouting back.
However, the stout soldier raised his voice again immediately and this time, his tone was very serious.
Dren and everyone else felt the seriousness in his tone and were dumbstruck. Their hearts beat faster again.
At that moment, everyone's mind started to question.
What now?
Didn't it come out of the shadows?
What did he see?
How should we deal with it this time?
Have we been ambushed all this time?
However, the stout soldier's mind had only one question, which was
"Fuck! How the fuck can it still be walking?!”
He was closest to the entrance. The moment he turned on his night vision, he saw a familiar large animal outside.
However.....
Its head was gone!
