Brody entered the break room when he checked that no one was around, he veered to the left. He walked towards Rameriz's office.
Not his office for long, he thought, curling his lip. He walked up to the door, realizing one critical flaw in his master plan. What if the door was locked, what if Rameriz or someone else was in his office? He’ll wing it if that’s the case. He knocked a few times.
A few moments passed.
No response. He turned the door handle.
Locked.
“Dammit”. He considered the fact that the warehouse was loud and no one was around him.
He’ll be quick.
He took a step back and slammed his shoulder with full force into the door.
The door opened with a hard thud.
He looked around him, the breakroom was still empty and he could hear the common loud noise from the warehouse in the distance.
He noticed the room was well-lit with no one in sight. He closed the door quietly behind him. The room had four windows with blinds. Two windows revealed the outside parking lot, and two adjacent windows revealed the breakroom. He opened the blinds a smidge so he could tell if a shadow walked by on the breakroom side of the room. He rushed over to the computer. He placed the photos around the monitor with some tape that was already on the desk. He could just leave and complain to the corporate heads about the office, but he couldn’t resist the urge to add more fuel. The computer screen was on the login screen. He glanced at the screen. What password would Rameriz set on his computer? Brody tried different passwords like numberoneboss, boss247, bossman, kingofthewarehouse, and-
The screen gave flashed a warning. A popup warned that the login would be locked if there were any more failed attempts. He pondered for a moment and decided he’d guess one more password. The opportunity to leave a questionable search history on his computer would be used as a backup if this photo plan fails. He’ll just leave if the last password attempt doesn’t work-
He heard a flush and click of a door being opened..
He was stupid, he thought the other door in the room was a closet door.
The unmarked private restroom door opened. Rameriz walked in and froze on seeing Brody suddenly in front of him.
Brody cursed loudly, today was not his day for scheming.
Rameriz looked at Brody, then down at the computer.
“If you’re trying to erase all your tardies and absences off record, it’s not gonna work” Brody looked like he was about to break out into a nervous sweat, but adjusted his stance to portray confidence. “You are so going to be fired today Rameriz, I have evidence that will get you fired”.
Rameriz looked confused for a moment but that was quickly masked with a confident smile.
“Why's that? So far, it looks like you’re the one who's going to get terminated. I already have you for breaking into my office, threatening management, not being on task, and trying to access company property without authorization. (Rameriz started at Brody intently and then raised a brow) Plus, conspiring with staff to frame me” It took Brody a moment to realize that perhaps Rameriz must have heard his conversation with Dani at lunch somehow, or Ramieriz just tacked that last reason on just to top as a coincidence. Brody suddenly had a difficult time focusing and started to slouch.

Rameriz walked over to the office door, using his body to block Brody's only doorway of escape, “I was at the vending machine getting a drink when I overheard part of your conversation. When I heard of your plan, I walked away and decided to stay in my office for the rest of the day. That was the best way of thwarting your plan. I was waiting at my desk and you just happened to arrive the moment I was busy. That look of guilt you had was worth the surprise, but I’m not done” Rameriz took out a walkie-talkie, “Security, could you please bring Daniella and Latana to my office please” Brody was freaking out, sweat dripping down his brow, “Please, don’t involve them in this”.
Rameriz ignored him.
Dani and Latana walked in. The guard stayed outside the office.
“Thank you both for arriving on such short notice, but you need to hear this. First, Latana, I’m sorry to have to share with you that your coworker Brody has been taking photos of you. Brody, hand her the photos.
Latana looked over at Brody deadly verosity in her eyes, "what type of photos Brody??"
Brody averted his eyes, "I'll...I believe it will be best if I just shred them instead" Brody pulled the photos off the computer monitor. He leaned over towards the paper shredder that was on the floor next to the desk.
Latana caught a glance of her face on one of the photos he was about to shredding. Latana yanked the photos from Brody’s hands.
Brody's expression was a mixture of defeat and embarressment, he tried but failed to avoid eye contact from Latana as she used her free hand to grab his head and forced him to look at her. Latana pushed the photos towards his face, "Where the fuck did you get these photos Brody?! Have you been takening photos of me? Have you stalking me online? Tell me now Brody before I make you wish your were never born you sniveling shit"
Latana's hand not holding the photos did a swift punch to Brody's gut. “Don’t you dare ever look my way again, or you'll experience true pain”, she then backhanded him hard enough to hear the smack echo off the office walls.
It was loud enough to make the security guard's eyebrows raise. The guard looked over at Rameriz, an quizzical expression asking if he should intervene. Rameriz raised his hand, “It’s ok”
Dani watched, feeling no sympathy towards Brody. She turend towards Ramirez, “Why am I here if you don’t mind me asking?”
Ramirez answered, “I’ve brought you into my office today to go over your recent behavior. You’ve failed to advise me or HR of Brody advising his scheme to conspire to get me fired. I'm going to have to write you up and-" Ramirez glanced over at Brody, "security, please take Brody out back, he is no longer an employee here. Please make sure he understands”. He sat in his chair and adjusted his tie. “Dani, I have some documents I’m going to need you to sign...”
Brody stared at Dani. After everything that occurred, he truly only felt pain in his heart for what he's done to Dani. He felt a deep guilt for the trouble he put her in. The sounds and voices around him faded away. The guard led him out of Ramirez's office and past the breakroom. The security guard took Brody's vest and badge, instead of the front entrance, the guard led him through the warehouse, giving him the walk of shame. They were heading towards the emergency exit at far end of the building. Brody wasn’t sure if it was intentionally Rameriz's idea to give him the walk of shame, or if it was the guards' idea. He shrugged away that idea. It didn't matter, he felt small as the entire floor of employees stopped working and watched Brody get escorted out the back. His coworkers, the one's he'd known for years...stared at him quizzical or comical expressions.
The security guard shoved him out of an emergency exit and slammed the door closed behind him. Brody stumbled and fell. When he got up, he saw Rameriz standing over him, helping him up. “It’s time for your annual employee evaluation. In summary, you did subpar work. I'm disappointed that. after all these years, you've never truly learned how to be a team player. I believe it would be best for the organizaiton if you forced to leave and to never fucking return”
A punch was slammed right into Brody's kidney.
Rameriz lifted him by the collar. “I’m sorry that you’re a worthless shit who won't amount to in life. You couldn’t even cheat your way to the top. In conclusion to your final evaluation, it would be best if Brody whatever the fuck last name never showed his sorry as face in my warehouse ever again”. Rameriz flung him to the ground and stepped on Brody's fingers on his way back inside.
“Don’t mess with the boss man”.
