Kazuki sat at his computer, completely absorbed in a MMORPG. His bedroom was filled with posters of various video games and consoles, a testament to his love for the industry. As he played, Kazuki couldn't help but think about how much he had always wanted to turn his passion into a career.
His love of games often drove him to spend long nights in his bedroom tinkering with game engines and modding tools. He had a natural talent for it, and his creations were always impressive and well-received by reviews online. But despite his love for gaming, he had struggled in school. He was never a straight-A student, and often felt like an outsider among his classmates. He struggled to connect with them and often felt like he didn't quite fit in.
Just as Kazuki was deep in thought, his email notification dinged, pulling him out of his reverie. He opened it to find a message from the local college's admissions office. His face lit up with a huge grin as he read the email. He knew that this would begin his path towards becoming a successful game designer, not a self-proclaimed one like he was at the moment.
Just as Kazuki was deep in thought, his doorbell rang, pulling him out of his celebratory mood. He sighed and got up to answer the door, wondering who could be interrupting him at this late of an hour.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
When he opened the door, he was surprised to find a delivery man standing on the other side, holding a large box.
He looked at the delivery person quizzically and asked, “Are you at the right address? I didn't order anything."
The delivery person nodded and replied, “The address appears correct. Do you want to check the shipping label, we can also crosscheck with your identification to confirm?"
Kazuki examined the shipping label and saw that his name and address were indeed on it. He also cross-checked his identification with the delivery person, who informed him that everything truly matched.
"Thank you for the delivery," Kazuki said to the delivery person, while remaining unconvinced that the package was meant for him, especially as he didn't have any close family.
"No problem, sir," the man replied, sounding a little tired. "Just glad that my shift is over. These late-night deliveries can be a bit of a hassle, you know?"
"I can imagine," Kazuki said, trying to think of who could have sent him this package.
The delivery driver nodded and handed Kazuki a copy of the delivery receipt. "Is there anything else I can do for you?"
Kazuki shook his head. "No, that's all."
"Alright then," the delivery driver said, turning to leave. "I'll see you around. Have a good night, sir."
"I will," Kazuki said, already closing the door.
Kazuki walked back to his bedroom and placed the package addressed to him right in the middle of the room. He stood there for a moment, staring at it, feeling a little bit anxious about its contents. He had no idea who could have sent it.
