Chapter Six, Fear.

...
Wiping away the leaking blood, Isaac continued to creep forward. He and Sina silently approached the battling undead from behind, but once they had reached a certain distance, she paused.
"I'm going to show you what I am able to do in my nineteen years of being a witch." She looked back, standing up fully. "There have been many times I contracted with demons to permanently increase my power, and it has paid off well." Her face was resolute and stern. There was a drastic contrast between the normal girl from before, and the hardened veteran he was seeing now.
"Witches toy with reality and the mind at the same time. With enough power, you can do a lot of things."
"Get out of here!" A man yelled. His sword was fending off a ghoul, and his friends were stuck in the same situation.
It was a four on four, but one could see that more corpses were rising from the ground.
Sina took a deep breath, and the surroundings seemed to darken. All the lights in the nearby vicinity went dark, the fire lit road lanterns being blown out.
It turned rather dark, but the dim lights from a far distance kept things a little lit.
Sina stepped forward, and as Isaac blinked, she was gone.
There was a growl, and a snap. Isaac's neck whipped towards one of the fighting men, watching as Sina dropped a ghoul to the ground, it's head turned a complete 180 degrees.
In another blink, she was gone. Once again, there was a growl, and a snap.
There was a tinge of fear in his heart, as he watched another ghoul falling to the ground, it's neck completely snapped.
Sina was warping around everywhere. She moved so fast that Isaac couldn't tell if she was in multiple places at once.
In just a few seconds, the lights returned, and Sina was standing in the exact same spot she was before. Though, the key difference between the two scenes, was that now there were four immobile ghouls, and four rather stunned men.
"To you, and everyone around, I just vanished and appeared behind those four consecutively, it might've seemed as if I was in two places at once even." Sina said.
"Yet, I didn't move a single inch from this position." She pointed at the ground.
"I gave the illusion that I was teleporting around, but really all I did was some simple telekinetic tugs, and all four ghouls had their necks snapped." Sina glanced back at Isaac, the boy himself biting his lip to calm his nerves.
"In truth, witches and wizards are descendants, or just followers of the satanic. We feed off fear, and the more fear we bring, the stronger we get." Isaac looked past her, noticing all four men trembling in fear, and the women and children behind them even more scared.
"W-Witch!..." One of the men yelled, pointing and falling backwards.
"Unfortunately that's just how things are." She explained. "But you don't have to cause fear. Though I recommend it when you really need it. It could be what saves you in a dire battle." She turned towards a different direction, towards more people that were attempting to fend off ghouls.

"Just watch and learn." She walked forward, Isaac still being slightly dazed.
He stumbled after her, being rather far behind. But, things went dark rather quick.
All the lights were blown out, and Sina vanished.
She reappeared, countless times, almost in a gust of wind. She snapped the necks of countless ghouls, saving countless people before they could even realize.
Isaac glanced upwards, seeing Sina reaching out from the top of a house. Both her arms were extended, and she uttered a word.
Isaac could barely make it out, but he understood once he saw what happened to the remaining ghouls.
"Confractus." The seven remaining ghouls, were instantly folded, dropping to the ground.
It was like watching an origami master go to work. The ghouls were bent into completely new shapes, being rendered immobile with a rupture of their neck.
The lights returned to their rightful places, and all the frightened men and women looked up at the roof of the home. She was crouched, her hands being lowered, her face still having the same flat expression.
"Behind you Isaac." She spoke.
Like a bell, her words reverberated in his ears. The hairs on his body stood up, and he felt goosebumps. I instinctively, he ducked, rolling to the ground.
In the process, he dropped his sword, but he didn't care.
He heard a body tumble to the ground, and he quickly got up.
There was a ghoul, scrambling with itself as it tried to get back to its feet. It roared at Isaac, making him gulp in hesitation.
There was about a fifteen foot distance between the two, Isaac having rolled rather far and the ghoul having stumbled quite a ways away.
It roared, and Isaac hesitantly rose his hand.
With clenched teeth, Isaac furrowed his brow. His nose scrunched, and his body tensed.
The ghoul took one quick step, dashing towards him.
He felt all the fear and anger, the confusion, the everything. He tapped into his emotions, and his wants, and he thought of the word.
Thinking about it, he could recognize it as Latin. He didn't know exactly what it translated to in English, but he understood what it would do.
He wanted his opponent to break.
"Confractus." He said flatly.
In an instant, he felt his arm lock up. There was a pressure within it, and it truly felt like someone's hand was gripping at his very own.
There was a firm pressure, and he could almost feel the hand slip from his grasp, but he tightened his grip.
The ghouls leg snapped, it's shin breaking, forcing it to tumble to the ground just a few feet in front of Isaac.
He kept his grip tight, feeling the tug on his entire arm. On the same leg, it's knee bent inwards, shattering it's patella.
Slowly, he pulled his arm backwards, imagining he was pulling the hand up from the cliff.
Bones broke in sequence.
It's ulna.
It's femur.
It's pelvis.
He could see it's ribcage cave in.
With a nervous smile on his face, Isaac could feel the power high. Being able to do all this with his mind...
He tugged once more, as hard as he could, and he stumbled backwards.
He could feel the... spell? breaking. But, he could also feel the sheer force that had been forced onto the ghoul.
With that final tug, it's entire spine was destroyed, being twisted and turned and broken into pieces.
Isaac stood there with a smile, the ghoul completely unmoving. Sweat dripped down his face, and his hand slowly lowered.
He could feel something in him. He felt a little better, he felt calmer, his mind a little clearer.
"That's the effect of absorbing fear." There was a hand on his shoulder, and Sina took a step past him.
"This is honestly... Scary, for this being your first ever time incanting." She muttered, stepping over the body.
At that moment, both of their ears seemed to poke up, a scream reverberating throughout the entire outpost.
But... they could recognize that voice?
"Akain?..." Isaac mumbled.
Sina grabbed his arm, pulling him.
They broke out into a full sprint, Isaac in pure shock at house fast Sina was.
"He's a fucking four star swordsman. Why can't you handle a Wight?" She said, rather annoyed.
Isaac didn't quite understand why she was so frustrated, but he did notice something else. She seemed to be acting completely different compared to the girl in the carriage.
Though, he didn't have time to think much...
In the next moment, he felt a little dizzy, and things darkened before light quickly invaded his eyes.
They had stopped running, and now they were back in the courtyard.
They had just... teleported?
Before them stood Akain, a huge claw mark on his chest, and... this time, there were two wights standing before him. ...
