Well, first of all sorry guys, this isn't a chapter.
But we're at the end of the first volume so I thought I'd share some insights of the process in creating the characters for, of course fun, and to clear up their personalities...
I'll be talking about Ralph and Leila.
Very first draft: Ralph is a God who can't even see his own body, he wasn't given a land or anything, he just kinda woke up with a Menu.
He was too OP that he could manipulate terrain and everything since the very beginning.
If he goes into a cave and clicks on the wall, the Dungeon menu will pop out for him to do everything he wants.
His powers' capabilities were too wide too early on, thus I didn't have enough skills to guide the story and be in charge of his bunch of powers all at the same time - Failed.
*Leila's actually a newly high elf slave that hasn't been touched.
Second draft: Ralph dies in a hospital and the goddess gave him a character creation menu.
He creates the new "himself" in the new world as a Vampire.
I tried to put my own spin of Death March on him, meaning that he gains abilities through behaviors.
But yep, way out of my capabilities, I couldn't manage all the abilities and guide the flow of the story itself without making its cogs loose everywhere
FAILED
*Leila's a ragged Elf slave at this point and later on evolved to a Dhampir, didn't get too much into her...
Third draft: this one's kind of better for Ralph...but Leila just dies off the story within 2 chapters...
I was seriously depressed writing this draft...
If you have seen my side story project on RRL, you'll notice this: Ralph is a skull face.
Everything about him is human except for the face that of a Skull.
Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road.
He has this absurd ability of darkness to devour things around him.
It seriously went well until Leila appeared as a Vampire Princess that has mental problems due to a trauma.
I couldn't make out what is the trauma for Ralph to work on, thus the character of Leila just kinda dies off away...*sobs*
Then the very last and final draft I suddenly came up with by jumping out of bed first thing in the morning:
Our current Ralph-sama with the miko bunny-chan Leila...
So with that said, I want to clear up Ralph's personality...
I'm getting some feedback saying that Ralph is unrealistic as a grown man.
Dude. I'm sorry for those of you who have never met a grown/adult/middle-aged/grandpa man who is still playful and carefree like in his teens or 20s, I seriously am...
When I build up a unique MC that stands out from the generic world, our world, I intentionally had him as a man who isn't depressed with his life, otherwise it wouldn't just be a fantasy if you stick the big rod of 'depressed/serious adults' into Ralph's butt...
He only likes games and stuffs like that, he's just happy with his life that he's really carefree and goofs off a little despite the number 35 in his age.
So to close this up, I would like to hear from you guys YOUR DEFINITION of a real villain, alright?
I'm working very hard on Bagdur, I need a few more references to work with, so...please get in the cmt (if you can) and throw at me some opinions on what do YOU think would make an extremely badass Villain....
Thanks for sticking with this shit, guys...Hatter's out.
Alright, I went full retarded and made a whole new post...I'll merge the illustration into this post...
