Julia Xirce - Diary Entry

Julia Xirce - Diary Entry

From the diary of Julia Xirce, former queen of the Xirce Kingdom.

Day 2.

We've been hiding since last night, after the fall of the capital, the imperial knights came to kill the entirety of the Xirce lineage, we fled the castle and towards the untamed lands in hopes of survival. The imperial knight are still chasing after us, though their numbers have seemingly dwindled. We are a few days out from the sand that is the main feature of the untamed lands. Nothing can grow in the untamed lands, which makes it a lot harder for anything to survive there.

Day 3.

Our pace has slowed down. They say we can't expend too much energy or we will struggle with food supplies even more than we already do. They grabbed some supplies when we escaped but the food supplies are depleting quickly.

Day 5.

The men managed to hunt a wild deer, so we will have a good dinner tonight.

Day 8.

We have no water left. We've reached the untamed lands, but if we can't find a water source, going in is suicide.

Day 9.

One of the women in the group died in the night, we had to leave her body as it was, we had no resources nor time to spare a proper send off. Luckily we managed to find a water source to refill our water skins. We started the trek through the untamed lands. The imperial knights won't be able to chase us here, but that doesn't mean it's gotten any easier. Procuring food or water in these lands is close to impossible. So we have to think of a plan to survive and fast.

Day 11.

We are running out of water again, we lost another person last night, I think it might be over for us.

Day 12.

Another died last night, there are only four of us left. It's not looking good.

Day 13.

After entering what seemed to be a natural fortress of rock, we found a pong of drinkable water and some wild carrots. We could rest for now, but how long that would last we do not know.

Day 14.

When I woke up, my son was gone. Nobody saw him leave, it was like he had disappeared. All that remained was my husband and a knight from the first order. I had seen the others die, but no death will be as harsh as a child you have given birth to. As much as I would like to mourn, I cannot.

Day 15.

We have started putting together whatever we can find to make a temporary shelter. Rocks, mud, leaves, anything. The are was have to work with is large, It's like an oasis in the middle of the untamed lands, no one would think something like this were here, if we're able to use the few resources here to survive, I will do whatever I can to avenge my son. The loss of my son, and my people will not be forgotten, nor shall it be forgiven.
