Chapter 18: Enter the Dungeon

Chapter 18: Enter the Dungeon

Atlas was able to make plenty of very interesting skills, he attempted to use it on all his skills and found that there were a couple skills that it couldn’t be combined with, for whatever reason. Endless Strength, Blitz, Fade Away, Damage Resistance, Herbalism and Crafting. Atlas quickly found that passive skills couldn’t be combined with an active Z-grade skill, or at least, that had been what he thought until he tried to combine Ultimate Debuff with Weapon Mastery.

You have successfully made a temporary (passive) skill! Debuffed Weaponry! To use this skill, you must be able to activate Ultimate Debuff (Z) and Weapon Mastery(A). You now have 2 temporary skills, see list?

He now thought it just depended on the skills he was combining and if they had synergy or not. He had then gone on a combining spree and used every single one of his skills that could be combined, into a temporary skill.

You have successfully made a temporary (active) skill! Elemental Debuffs! To use this skill, you must be able to activate Ultimate Debuff (Z) and Elemental Affinity (SSS). You now have 3 temporary skills, see list?

You have successfully made a temporary (active) skill! Ultimate Consume! To use this skill, you must be able to activate Ultimate Debuff (Z) and Consume (SS). You now have 4 temporary skills, see list? This skill is not one of your main three, add?

You have successfully made a temporary (passive) skill! Sense of Death! To use this skill, you must be able to activate Ultimate Debuff (Z) and Reapers Senses(SS). You now have 5 temporary skills, see list? This skill is not one of your main three, add?

You have successfully made a temporary (passive) skill! Demonic Debuffs! To use this skill, you must be able to activate Ultimate Debuff (Z) and Demonic Claw (S). You now have 6 temporary skills, see list? This skill is not one of your main three, add?

You have successfully made a temporary (passive) skill! Armor of Debuffs! To use this skill, you must be able to activate Ultimate Debuff (Z) and Toughen (B). You now have 7 temporary skills, see list? This skill is not one of your main three, add?

You have successfully made a temporary (passive) skill! Debuffing Beam! To use this skill, you must be able to activate Ultimate Debuff (Z) and Lightning Beam (S). You now have 8 temporary skills, see list? You cannot make any more temporary skills! One Z-grade skill can only make up to 8 temporary skills on its own, and you can only have a maximum of 16 temporary skills total. (You can get rid of temporary skills on the list)

When that last message had shown up, Atlas had been slightly sad, but it wasn’t too disappointing, as he didn’t really have any more skills to even test it on. He had gotten lucky and now had the maximum amount of temporary skills possible right now. He finally gave in and clicked on the list, bringing up all the skills to test them and see which skills would fit best in his repertoire.

Temporary Skills-

1. Ruinous Mist -In use

2. Debuffed Weaponry -In use

3. Elemental Debuffs -In use

4. Ultimate Consume -Add?

5. Sense of Death -Add?

6. Demonic Debuffs -Add?

7. Armor of Debuffs -Add?

8. Debuffing Beam -Add?

Atlas collapsed on the ground, breathing laboriously. He had just completed another wave. He had tested out every new temporary skill in his arsenal, and had a decent grasp of what they all did. Unlike normal skills, he couldn’t just bring up a screen that told him the general information of the skill, he had to figure it out by himself. On the plus side, they were far more powerful than normal skills and seemed to be more specialized than his other skills.

But that cost a TON of mana. He had run dry more than once and had to wait an hour for it to fill back up before continuing testing. He was not idle during those times though, jumping into the mine or felling dozens of trees while he waited. He managed to gather quite a bit of resources, and was feeling pretty good about the rest of the waves.

Resources: Lumber: 634, Stone: 543, Iron: 389, Tin: 522, Copper: 423, Gems: 41

He had gathered quite the amount of resources in the brief waits, and was sitting on quite a large pile of them. Earlier, Atlas had found a journal and pencil in his room, and now he was using it to keep track of the powers of his temporary skills as testing. He looked over all the written information and nodded to himself.

Ruinous Mist-

Creates a large mist, similar in volume to Death mist. The mist will spark randomly, inflicting debuffs on creatures in the mist. Does not affect the user.

Mana cost: 1000 Mana

Time before dissipating: 10 minutes

Other: Works on inanimate objects, and at a glance seems to inflict less debuffs than Ultimate Debuff, but the inflictions stay for far longer than Ultimate Debuff, and the cost is worth 4 Ultimate Debuffs, but inflict far more debuffs than it does.

Weaknesses: Can be blown away by both non-magical and magical winds, dissipating the mist far before it is usually dissipated. It cannot be used in quick succession, requiring a 10 second wait to cast again. Inflicts debuffs over time, where Ultimate debuff gives 5 at once.

Strengths: Is very effective against a large group of creatures.

Ruinous Mist seemed to be one of the better skills in Atlas’s arsenal, but it was not nearly as effective on single opponents as opposed to crowds.

Debuffed Weaponry-

Continues to give proficiency in all weapons, but now adds a debuff every hit, no matter the weapon being used.

Mana cost: None

Other: The weapons can only add the normal debuffs, and are not able to add any of the rare or super rare debuffs.

Weaknesses: Only add one debuff, and doesn’t work on projectiles.

Strengths: Costs no mana, and is automatically added to every weapon without needing to activate.

Atlas had decided to use these two skills, and one more.

Ultimate Consume-

Causes the target to vanish from existence, leaving no trace. The user does not gain a skill, but instead gains one to five stats from the creature's highest stat, depending on the creature's level in relation to the user. High end may be higher as it hasn’t been tested on stronger creatures.

Mana cost: 100 Mana

Time that it must be used after creatures death: 5 minutes

Other: Can be used on a living creature, but instead of stealing their stats, it instead gives them a random amount of debuffs (Costs 2000 mana). The reason for this high cost is because the skill can inflict anywhere from 0 to seemingly infinite amounts of debuffs. No upper limit has been found as of yet, but the most in one cast so far is 126, and instantly killed the target from the sheer amount of debuffs.

Weaknesses: Requires a couple seconds of concentration to use either of the two effects.

Strengths: Can potentially one-shot a creature and also gives stat points.

Atlas didn’t know why Ultimate Consume was so powerful, but he definitely wasn’t complaining. It both gave him free stat points and a roll of the dice attack.

Atlas stood up and stretched, happy with his gains, but now he wanted to try the dungeon that he had found earlier.

He ran through the woods and came across the dungeon once again.

You have found a dungeon! Impossible dungeon may not be entered until wave 5 has been cleared. Time will halt while inside of the dungeon. Do you wish to enter the dungeon?

Atlas smiled and mentally selected yes, entering the depths of the dungeon. He felt the familiar and nauseating sensation of being teleported and found himself in a large white room. There was a dome above him that held a massive crowd of people. They all roared and clapped when he saw them, but none of the sound reached him. Either they were projections, or the dome was sound proof.

A strange group of people did catch his eye though, and he quickly inspected them.

???

Level ???? Tier ??

The message was the same for all of them, and Atlas looked closer at them. They were all clad in dark black robes that reminded him of the grim reaper, and their faces were shaded in a way that didn’t look natural, to the point where he could only see their eyes shining through. They all had glowing red eyes that looked like they wanted to eat him up just by staring at him.

Atlas shuddered, deeply unnerved. As he tried to make sense of his surroundings, a message popped in front of him

You have entered the impossible dungeon! You will be tested 7 times, one for each stat, and then a grand finale! You are not able to use any skills, spells, or titles (Stat boosting titles still boost your stats, but do not do anything else.)

Enter the Trial of Strength. (Red Torches)

Atlas blinked and then frowned. He couldn’t use skills or titles? That was harsh, but it wasn’t called impossible for nothing it seemed. He glanced around and found different colored torches all around him. He walked over to the ones with red torches and entered, walking quite a distance before coming to an edge.

It overlooked an arena, and the same dome hung over it. The walls of the arena were made of a deep gray stone, and the sand on the ground seemed to glow, filling the room with light other than the dome hanging overhead.

Taking a deep breath, Atlas jumped.
