Fault

Chapter Six: Fault

“So, why didn’t he answer me?” Viktor worriedly questioned.

“Eh… I don’t think Dr. Morris is with us anymore… sorry…” Xavier answered, depressed.

“No, no, don’t worry. It wasn’t your fault. To be honest, it was mostly his fault. He should’ve had his eyes on the road.”

“Yeah… but he didn’t deserve it! I should’ve warned him! I should’ve noticed! I left it too late! He’d still be alive if I wasn’t such a… failure.” he stated grievously.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“Hey, no! None of this is your fault! Don’t blame yourself for things that are out of your control… you’re not a failure. Don’t say stuff about yourself that isn’t true.”

Xavier did this to console him.

“Mm… I guess you’re right. The people who are truly at fault are those damn hooligans terrorising kids at a shopping mall!”

“Yeah, totally! But, let’s maybe talk about this kind of stuff with more privacy. And somewhere safer! We’re in the middle of all of these explosions and toxic smoke and–”

“Yeah, you’re right!” Xavier interrupted with a hopeful tone. “Let’s get out of here!”

“Let’s also maybe try to put the fire out…”

“That too!”
