The inside of the building is utilitarian in design, simple stone walls and only enough lighting to allow sight. Although, I’d apparently be fine with much less light with my weird eyes.
I wonder if my eyes are actually magic or something similar, as the trade off for far sightedness is supposed to be worse sight near you, but my vision is much better in every way now. Maybe I can figure out that later, for now…
Me and Malfer walk down the hall, it’s significantly quieter compared to outside, the walls must be thick.
Eventually we get to a door, inside is Alver, Ellie, Ellie’s dad, and a woman who I do not recognize.
Everyone is busy packing things, they look like they are getting ready for a journey, and maybe they are.
I decide to ask Malfer what’s happening, and he responds that Alver and Ellie are going on a quest, and also me too… WHAT?!?!
Why am I suddenly so worked up(in my head), I’ve been going with the flow for a little while now kind of.
Oh wait, I know why, It’s because I have no choice apparently.
The quest that me and the others are going on is likely very dangerous, which I have been trying to avoid, I just want to mess around once I get situated.
But, this might actually be a good opportunity for a fun adventure, and I only have to go along with the journey during the first part.
What is the journey? I’m not entirely sure.
Anyway, now I have to pack.

I have no idea what to pack, at first Malfer gave me a list of things to get, and unlike in other isekai stories, I can actually read what’s there. BUT, I have no idea what half of these things are. So Malfer packed basically everything for me, but I wasn’t doing nothing at all, I did spend some time preparing.
How did I prepare you ask? It’s simple, with a laser pointer.
Apparently the weird magical cat traits encompass more than my appearance and physical abilities.
Chasing the laser pointer was not fun at all, it was not a game, it was quite serious training.
Okay, maybe it was a bit fun, but it was still a bit of preparation; specifically if I ever need to catch a glowing light(which might happen), I’ll have the skills needed.
Also, apparently my role on this journey will be to carry equipment, as I have no other skills. Eventually I did get a brief description of the quest, its a basic “chosen one” goes off to save the world from a possible calamity.
Who is the chosen one? one might wonder? It’s not me apparently, it’s Ellie.
As the chosen one, she gets to bring two companions with her, and instead of her parents or some mature people, she chose Alver, and me.
Alver I understand because they already knew eachother, but ME?
She doesn’t know me that well, and she even drugged me! Although we had a small agreement to help each other figure out the cat, I didn’t think she’d keep that in mind when going on a grand quest!
I guess we might have to postpone that investigation for now, although I feel like it will be relevant later.
Also something that might be also pretty important; my memory doesn’t extend farther than the past month, some important details are missing too, as what’s left is pretty vague.
I’m not even sure if my real name is Fuori, or if it’s the cat’s, as that information was put into my mind. The strength of the information I get is stronger than my actual memories, so maybe if I do completely lose my past, then I can still hang on.
Or maybe something is trying to override my mind while I’m weakened, why would it do that? Maybe it likes my new ears and tail, who is to say?
To get back on track, me, Ellie, and Alver have started our trek on the road, we aren’t taking a carriage, as the direction we are going isn’t on a a road. We also aren’t taking a horse, as none of us know how to ride.
I also have yet to ask about that portal from the forest to here, like if we can just take a portal to where we are going.
I probably should have brought some type of notebook or journal, so I could write down important information.
If I had a journal, I wouldn’t be at risk of forgetting crucial information.
When we get a chance, I’ll be sure to buy one.
As we all walk on the rode, I decide to ask the very important question of “where are we going?”
Allie answers me with “the town of griddlestone, our goal eventually is to pass into resgold, and at that time we may depart.”
I decide to spend a couple minutes grilling her and Alver on our quest and journey, but Allie gave me very little, as much is confidential and can’t be spread.
This journey seems likes it’s going to be boring, its nearly a weeks walk to griddlestone, and during that time they will be hunting.
I will be doing nothing but holding stuff.
I won’t be learning magic, hunting, or really adventuring.
Hopefully, the next week gets a little better.
