“Nonsense.”
That’s what I wrote on the page.
This is the introductory word to my new story, and I can’t figure out what happens next.
I studied the word a bit more, and thought about it. Maybe I should write a conversation between two people. One guys says, “Nonsense.” The next says, “But it’s all true!” But where I would I go from there?
One of my friends walked up to me. She looked over my shoulder and read the word out loud. “‘Nonsense.’ What does that mean?”
“That’s what I’m trying to figure out,” I said. “Currently, it’s all just… nonsense!”
She sits across from me. “Well, what if I helped spark the ideas? It can’t be that hard, right?”

I had to admit, it could work for me.
She starts: “Nonsense.”
I go next: “But it all happened!”
Her: “Yeah, well, you’re going to have to prove it.”
I’m writing it all down as we speak.
Me: “(I snap fingers, and a little flame appears.) Do you believe me now? No one can make a flame appear just out of thin air! Don’t tell me it’s nonsense.”
Her: “Oh, wow! You’re right! We have to tell someone. This isn’t something you keep secret!”
Me: “We can’t tell anyone! You’re the only person I trust with this information. You have to help me keep it a secret.”
My friend nods her head. “There you go. That’s the start of your story. I hope that helps!”
“It really does, thank you so much!” I smile and close the journal.
