“You're just unconscious!” Camilla said to Akeem-Spectre, as she rolled leftward. The hairy claws of the «Olgama» almost reached her olive green hair! The blinded bear-like creature roared louder, as it ran towards them.
“How about you eat this!” Fleym yelled in Russian, as she grabbed a sharp stone from the ground. “Camilla, make another Coinault!”
“How about I 'tank' that creature!” Helmirr, the Gnome warrior, tried to hack the creature's thigh with his «Wooden Hatchet».
The bespectacled brawler threw the sharp stone at the monster. It hit the monster's nose instead. “You'd better play as a rogue, Helmirr. As much as I know, Gnomes like you and Camilla won't—”
The «Olgama» howled louder, and gashed Fleym's back with its sharp, hairy claws. At a split second, the monster sunk its fangs on Helmirr's left shoulder. The sorry Gnome warrior's shoulder gushed bluish smoke, and he screamed in pain.
“Helmirr!” Fleym turned back, then jabbed the monster's left jaw. “I told you to go Rogue or Mage instead!”
The wounded Gnome shook his head sideways, then struck the same monster's thighs.
White airy smoke came out after Fleym's fists struck the monster's jaw. “Do another Coinault now, Camilla!”
Camilla nodded, then she formed another star in thin air. She cast a «Summon Coinault» spell. Two seconds after, a new «Coinault» monster emerged from her summoning circle.
“We'll be a decoy this time!” Camilla spoke in English to the party, as she jumped backward from the monster. An airy aura wrapped around her feet, then lifted her 8 inches away from the ground.
“You can float off the ground?” Zoloto Archer asked, as he shot the monster's sides. Energy arrows went through its spine, yet it scratched her summoned monster.
“Of course, I'm a Gnome.” She chuckled at Zoloto Archer.
She drew a sword & an upward arrow over her monster's holographic window. Her coin monster expelled reddish fiery waves around them. It slammed itself against the monster's head. Too bad, it didn't stun it!
«You have cast «Atako Levi – Familiara (Level 01)» on your «Coinault» monster.»
The «Olgama» regained its sight, then galloped at her summoned creature. Akeem-Spectre got up from the ground, then flew at that monster. Stay strong, my friend!
She watched the Celestian swordsman gashed the monster's spine. Would he be my knight in shining armor? If he lives around here, I won't hesitate to find him.
She sheathed her «Training Baton» back to her inventory, and drew a «Trainee's Peashooter» from her right hip.
“Morir! Morir! Morir!” She aimed her pistol on monster's head, then fired few rounds on it. One of her shots struck its nose, and the other shot landed at its furry neck. The last shot bounced off the tree trunk.
“My turn!” Maldranza, the female Diablon magician, hurled a glowy «Fire Ball» at the monster's buttocks. As it struck the «Olgama»'s butt, its fur burnt into crisp. They have not known each other, yet the feel of being in a family showed itself in this battle.
Camilla's «Coinault» slammed itself against the monster's neck, then flew back at her.
The lone bear-like monster wailed in scorching pain, as its body parts turned into crystalline cubes. Seconds later, some of the cubes transformed into various items contained from the creature.
They obtained: a brand-new «+1 Generek Knife», a «Summon Olgama» skill disc, three pieces of «Olgama fur», and a worn-out pair of purple «streaked leggings» from the slain monster.
Another holo-screen popped around their heads, «Wow, that was a bit overkill for a common creature. Sure, it's fun to take thing down as a team, but try to deal those problems on your own for once at least.»
Camilla's heart throbbed for the moment, that she fired her gun at the sky, “Maldito! You're no longer funny!”
Her clothes' hip-mounted «PerDIn terminals» glowed twice, then turned red for a second. «Y'know, you can always do things in your way.»
“Fine then!” Camilla stored her gun back to her inventory, then Akeem-Spectre hugged her.
Another holographic message box popped in front of her, «I say again: I may be blunt, but we're trying to help you out in surviving this new world, okay?»
“What's wrong, Camilla?” the dark-skinned Celestian swordsman stroked her back.
“The game belittled us again.” She cried at his belly. “If that guy shows up right now—”
“Calm down, we might be luring more of those bears.” His fingers caressed her hair. “And don't worry about that invisible guy.”
She heard the tall green Terran grasses rustled around them. The two drew their weapons, and pointed at the patches of grass.
“Now, this is what I'm talking about.” Akeem-Spectre cast an «Atako Levi (Level 01)» to himself, then small reddish lightning sparks embraced his wooden sword's blade. “And worse, I don't think it'll be another Olgama!”
“Drop your weapons!” A loud raspy voice came out from the tall grass patches. “Put your hands & knees to the floor now!”
«Mexico\Nuevo Laredo, Taumalipas\Matilda Azarola's House»
The new character's phrase echoed inside Matilda's mind thrice. She had heard rough voices, and few gunshots played over her head. Why of all things, did the anime sandbox RPG shot a part of her past back?
She spoke through her headset's microphone, “Helmirr, don't let 'em get me!”
A drilling pain went through her forehead, like a bullet train mounted with a tunnel-boring drill.
“You're mine now, chica!” Tears from her brown eyes drove across her cheeks, as she heard the smooth & deep voice in her head.
The silhouette of a muscular man flashed onto her mind again.
“Get away from me.” She shook her head, as her eyes shed more tears. “Why are you coming back!”
“Ummm... Okay.” A young Brazilian boy stuttered. “I might die first this time!”
The moment Helmirr's player spoke to her in-game, the man she saw in her vision got shot in his shoulders. She regained focus to finish their first trip in the game.
“You okay, Camilla?” Esfirasya, known as Fleym in-game, yelled.
“Is there something bothering you?” Akeem asked. “They're harmless if you ask me.”
She looked at her screen for a moment, then she saw Akeem-Spectre and others surrounded by the Dwargs in leathery tribal clothing. They're armed with bone-tipped spears, longbows with tusks, and a curved sword made of an animal spine. Looked like a bit out of place for this game, but they might be playing as anti-technology peeps, or a bunch of colonists out for exploration.
“We're not your enemies!” She moved her character closer to Akeem's avatar.

They followed the short & hairy Dwargs back to their village. A blonde-haired Dwarg chieftain spoke to them as he led the way, “Sorry kiddos for that welcome. We thought you're all a bunch of Olgamas that time.”
“Nah,” Fleym replied, “We just killed one a while ago.”
“Yea, and we've heard enough of it.” the Dwarg chieftain lit his cigar, “Anyway, we need your help in expanding our village.”
Fleym and others nodded at his request. A yellow holographic window popped in front of their heads. «Your party has accepted a spontaneous quest chain. Actions done throughout the quest may leave some impact to the land, and its residents. Behave well, kids!»
Without a second thought, they followed the Dwarg chieftain and his guards back to their village.

She noticed the ten moons, and the gigantic star shone brighter than the stars in the night sky. Nighttime wildlife chirped and crowed around the forest.
She popped out her skill window, then peeked at her «Summon Coinault» skill's growth bar. If she kept summoning her monster, and lasted enough in battle, she'll be able to choose extra features for her skill — or she had to go around the universe for some unique skills.

“Here we are!” The Dwarg chieftain led them to the nearest campfire. “Welcome to our li'l hamlet!”
She glanced at the huts made from reddish-brown wooden panels stood around the campfire. Few seconds after, she noticed a fat armor-clad Dwarg. He brought a roll of skinned Olgama fur to the nearest hut. So, this game doesn't live through combat alone after all?
The Dwarg chieftain told them to get him wood for their houses. Preferred material? «Oak wood logs».
Fleym raised her thumb up. “Leave that to us!”
He asked them for Olgama fur, Olgama meat and some fruits for their dinner. The Dwarg chieftain cleared his throat, “Though it's best ye deal with them together!”
While Fleym and others gathered materials around the settlement, Camilla and Akeem-Spectre headed out to the forest.

They walked unscathed amongst the towering coney trees. Glowing green and blue mushrooms dotted most of the tree trunks. If one would recreate one of those trees in the outside world, lots of Christmas lights would be tied on the pine, spruce, fir, and even redwood trees in the United States.
“I wish they're real,” she caressed the glowing mushrooms.
Akeem-Spectre glanced at her, as he looked at his skill screen. “Yes, and they're more beautiful over city lights at night.”
The sight of the ember-like skyline of Ciudad Juarez flashed on her mind. She made few good friends during her elementary years, yet they tend to occupy the top 10 spots in their class.
The dark-skinned Celestian swordsman stood by her, “Camilla, you seemed to be thinking of something eh?”
“Yea, I used to have good friends back there.” She rubbed the last cluster of glowing mushrooms, two small holo-windows popped above her hand: «Briarwelt Azure Glowshroom» & «Briarwelt Verdant Glowshroom».
“Until we're attacked by gangsters in school.” She picked four of the glowshrooms, then she sighed for a moment.
“What for?” Akeem-Spectre asked, as he counted his healing supplies in his inventory screen.
She stuttered, “Two of my friends' families belonged to Lazaros drug clan.”
“Y'know, I've seen enough of that in my place.” He also began collecting glowshrooms, herbs, and flowers on the ground. “Say, let's not stress ourselves with those things, okay?”
She nodded at him. She rubbed the last cluster of glowing mushrooms, two small holo-windows popped above her hand: «Briarwelt Azure Glowshroom» & «Briarwelt Verdant Glowshroom».
Akeem-Spectre stroked his chin, “I don't think we can eat—.”
She ate a glowshroom, then her flesh-colored shell unleashed a bright, bluish aura. So far, another perk of being a Gnome: near immunity to biological debuffs. She offered one of the glowshrooms, “Would you like to try it?”
“You want me to glow to death with that?” Akeem-Spectre shook his head, as he watched her glow like a firefly.
She grinned at him, “At least, we can travel safer with more—”
Even though the towering trees rendered a typical day into a night, bluish grasses danced with the gentle winds. She heard faint footsteps around them.
“I could have asked Helmirr to come with us,” she sighed, as she descended to the ground.
“Great.” Akeem-Spectre clicked his tongue, “He might die earlier than you.”
She yelled at him, “So what, at least he did his—!”
Unseen creatures purred, howled and growled across the forest. One of the tree's branches fell off beside them. Her chest tightened, beyond her character as a «Gnome Summoner». She looked around, with her staff held tight.
“Now, be quiet and stay here.” He unsheathed his sword, “Remember, you have monster compa—”
She shook her head, “C'mon! You're letting me fight 'em alo—”
In a blink, Akeem-Spectre flew toward the creature's sound. One tip in role-playing games: Never leave magic-oriented buddies alone, at all costs.
“What a prick!” She tried summoning her Coinault monster, until a purple blur knocked her down. Morir!
New monster identified: «Briarwelt Hazefang», also known as the Hazefang! That four-legged purple blur has a pair of arched, glittery eyebrows. Its pearly cyan eyes locked onto her, and bared its saliva-soaked fangs above her neck.
She may have been left alone in her bloody real world, but not in this growing world this time!
“I can stand—!” She threw a heavy kick on the purple creature's face away from her. The Hazefang's face turned into pixelated swarm of cubes. She rolled away, then fired her «Trainee's Peashooter» on the Hazefang's forehead, “—On my own!”
Three shots. Yet, only one shot punched through the Hazefang's glitched forehead. It let out a shrilling howl as its head transformed into someone she met: Darius Brown.
“No.” She stepped away from the creature. She took a deep breath, as she aimed her peashooter at its forehead again. “You're not going to mess me again, maldito!”
The Hazefang jumped at her, yet she rolled leftward. It scratched one of the glowshroom-dotted trees instead. She jumped farther backwards, then she summoned her Coinault monster.
«Waste those persistent bastards of yours...»
“What are you trying to tell me, game?” Camilla popped out a holographic window from her right hand, then commanded her Coinault to defense mode.
The lone Hazefang howled at them, until four other Hazefangs jumped down from the tall trees around her.
«Do you want to let them get the best out of you?»
The other four Hazefangs howled in pain, as their heads turned into her friends' bearded killers from Ciudad Juarez! No way. Am I the only one seeing these monsters having human heads?
The small pack of glitched, human-faced Hazefangs galloped toward her coin monster. One of them clawed its face, while the other two bit its sides. At this rate, that beloved coin familiar of hers will be turned into scrap metal!
She may have Coinault, yet she has enough «Energy Points (EP)» for another summon. She can just gun their eyes down, or thrust a staff to their nose but, she's a Gnome! Among the ten playable races, Gnomes are not good for front line combat!
«This world's already giving you a chance to put them to rest!»
“Either on my own, or with the help of my friends...” She whispered to herself, as she materialized a skill disc from her hip: «Summon Olgama».
“LEARN: «Summon Olgama»!” She materialized a skill window in front of her chest, then she thrust the skill disc on it. The holographic image of an Olgama appeared in front of her.
«You're now set to fight your troubles, my dear.»
At the same moment, the smiling photographs of her friends, the armed gangsters, and her rapist's grinning face flashed on her mind for the last time.
Her Coinault slammed itself against the closest human-faced Hazefang's head, yet its sides bled pixels. Two of the Hazefangs' heads turned back into their real wolf-likes heads, bared their bloodied fangs on her.
She jumped backward, then summoned the furry bear-like creature in front of her. Her summoned Olgama gashed one of the Hazefang's face, while the other monster sunk its fangs on its left shoulder.
“You better get away from my new friend!” Camilla, the Gnome Summoner, fired five shots at the Hazefang's head with her peashooter. She giggled at her target, as four of her shots went through its skull. Though, the fifth headed to one of the glowshrooms nearby.
One down! Four at large! The mental image of her grinning rapist shattered into reddish crystals, the same way how monsters— or even avatars die, and respawn in this game.
Camilla's Olgama bit the face-wounded Hazefang's neck, then snapped it sideways. “That's for killing one of my crying shoulders!”
Two Hazefangs offed! Three others remained to bite the hell out of a summoned Coinault. She cast an un-summoning spell on her wounded Coinault, while her Olgama swung its hairy claws against the surviving Hazefangs.
«That's the spirit! You'll never always deal with problems alone! I commend you for that.»
