Akeem-Spectre, the brown-skinned Celestian, appeared at the center of the city's park. Around him, giant Terran sunflowers stood among the colored roses. On his left, four male Dwargs in black jackets, spun their swords as if they're on a parade. They seemed to be another party of sorts.
On his right, the remaining colonists stayed at the park. While at it, some of them chattered by the flower beds. Other characters walked around, while a handful sparred with their fellow players for fun.
He watched the roses and the sunflowers swayed together. Fleym called him through the communicator in a jiffy.
"Where are you? We'll be right there, after our new Brazilian party members get the hang of the game.” Fleym said in a cheery Russian language.
Akeem-Spectre stuttered, "Can you speak in English?"
"Da! Sorry, but I can speak a bit of English though." Fleyn answered, "So Akeem, where are you?"
Akeem-Spectre looked around again. He noticed the huge Terran Oak tree covering then with its large branches. As he glanced at the tree, he stroked his chin for a moment. He's one of the 10 Iraqi players chosen for the beta, yet he feared of speaking the wrong words. Worst-case scenario? Put his country under IP ban due to stereotypes thrown onto his race.
He popped out a holographic window from his left palm. «Welcome to Kanpeki Sekai, the flowery Walled Metropolis in Briarwelt!».
Three seconds after. he replied to Fleym, "I'm on Kanpeki Sekai, standing beside the huge tree."
Fleym answered, "Got it! Zoloto and I are helping two Brazilian newbies right now.”
“Okay, I'll be waiting.” Akeem-Spectre turned off his communicator.
He gazed at the huge tree at the center, until a green-haired Gnome girl pinched his wing. "Hablas español, Akeem?"
His eyes narrowed for a moment as he waited for Fleym's response. I don't know what's she saying, but she might be asking for something.
He tapped his left temple, and small holographic windows appeared above the girl's head. «Name: Camilla ; Race: Gnome ; Hit Points (HP): 100%; Energy Points (EP): 100%»
"No, instead I can speak a bit of..." he said in Arabic.
He scratched his head again, as he peeked at the young Gnome girl, "English?"
“I can understand a bit as well.” Camilla, the green-haired Gnome, nodded at him.
He smiled at her, that the weight of doubts from his chest dissolved in an instant. By chance, the giant Terran oak tree shed its leaves. It let the old and weak leaves flutter elsewhere.
“You okay, Akeem? You seemed to be tense.” she patted his arms.
She brought out a plastic-looking «Training Baton» from her small hip-mounted PerDin Terminal. “Maybe we should go out, and hunt some monsters together?”
“That'd be fun,” he shook his head sideways. “Though I belong to another party right now, Camilla.”
“Then, tell your leader to add me!” Camilla pressed her hands on her waists.
“I'll tell her later on, as she, or her trainees may die if we distract her right now.” Akeem-Spectre said.
Her beady emerald eyes gazed at his mouth for a second, then he also looked at her face. Why is she gazing at my mouth? I'm not lying on what I just said at her today.
She pouted at him, “All right, but for now...”
She popped out a small holographic window in front of him. It displayed a full green HP bar & blue EP bar encircling her whole body picture. Also, lot of icons representing her equipped items displayed around it.
“Why don't we buy ourselves some potions or anything?” Camilla asked Akeem-Spectre.
“I'm okay.” He put his hands on his hips, “Because I can fly and—”
“Get yourself hit from below?” She laughed at him. “Only if you'll play as tank for me, Akeem.”
“I think I'm fit for being a kiter instead.” Akeem-Spectre said.
He heard his communicator ringing. Alas, it's Fleym on the line. “We're done, and we'll meet up exactly where you stand now!”
“Okay, Fleym.” He nodded, then he turned his communicator off again. “They're coming, Camil—“
Camilla raised her «Training Baton», and summoned a three-footer floating copper coin. Another holo-window popped at their right. «Some of you might have the ways to summon the «Coinault». Yeah, that lame coin-themed monster. Don't worry, get him battered to save yourselves for now, okay?»
“Maldita Sea! Is this game mocking at us at some way?” Camilla raised her «Training Baton» against the holo-window near her.
If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement.
“Not at all, Camilla...” Akeem-Spectre raised his palms up.
The holo-window spun by itself, then it printed out another message in Spanish. «Don't fret, Camilla. I may be blunt, but we're trying to help you out in surviving this new world, okay?»
The «Coinault» monster nodded at her. It spun around them at a snail's pace, itching for combat. Two seconds later, Fleym and her party materialized in front of them.
“So, where do we go now before nightfall?” Fleym asked.
“How about we look for good gear by fighting monsters in the nearest forest?” Akeem-Spectre said.
“That'd be a good idea after all.” Zoloto Archer nodded at them.
“Let's go!” Fleym yelled in Russian, with fist raised to the sky.
He and Camilla joined Fleym's party. They headed out to the closest forest around the Walled Metropolis.
« Briarwelt Moon\Kanpeki Sekai First Path »
The calm winds caressed their faces, as they followed the lit concrete roads. On their left, they saw a glimpse of flowery plains. The Earth-like flowers swayed sideways as the wind stroked their petals. The girls watched the creatures around the plains. The boys searched for dropped items on the road.
Camilla noticed large furry creatures hid among the Earth-like flowers. She patted Akeem-Spectre's wings, “Look at them, aren't they large & fluffy?”
He nodded at her, then they looked at the alien creatures together. Their furs turned green, then assumed themselves as a mound of land with a patch of grass on top. The name's a «Plaipushistaya», a large faceless creature found in the Briarwelt moon's plains. So far, the «NOAH Foundation» discouraged the colonists from killing them.
“What are you guys waiting for?” Fleym yelled at them. “Some of us are itching for a fight in the forest, and you guys are sight-seeing?”
Camilla and Akeem-Spectre followed Fleym's party to the forest. She brought out her character status window. She peeked at her EP bar, then she asked Fleym, “Mind if I summon a «Coinault» as a lookout?”
“Go ahead, Camilla.” Fleym put her hands on her hips. “It'll be good for scouting the forest, if you ask me.”
She summoned the coin monster beside her. She commanded it to move into the forest.
The summoned monster hovered away from them. A greenish holo-window popped on her right side. “My summon's seeing a group of Dwargs chopping wood!”
“Are they players, Camilla?” Akeem-Spectre asked her.
She shook her head, “I dunno, but they can cut down some trees, and replant one quicker.”
“I think it'd be better if we ask for a quest from them,” Fleym smiled at them. “Y'know for leveling up your skills or stuff?”
Akeem-Spectre and others nodded at her suggestion. They walked fast to the forest at once. He heard faint, growling sounds among the trees. Without a second thought, he armed himself with his «Wooden Sword».
“Seen any monsters around?” he said to Camilla.
“Yes, and—” Camilla enlarged her holographic screen. She saw her «Coinault» scratched by the ivory-clawed bear-like monster.
“Do a «Headbutt»!” she yelled at the summoned monster's holo-screen. The coin monster smashed itself to the furry bear-like creature. It never flinched, then it tackled Camilla's monster down.
“My monster's runnin' out of HP!” Camilla drew a star in the air. “Cover me, while I'm unsummoning it!”
Akeem-Spectre flew to the forest, with his sword drawn out. The monster bit the «Coinault»'s face, and shattered into white holographic cubes. “It's dead!”
He swung his sword to the right. The bear monster, called «Olgama», peeked at him. Too bad, the wooden blade cut through its eyes. As it wailed in pain, the monster swayed its right hand overhand.
As he flew away from the creature, the «Olgama» slammed him downward, face-first.

Akeem's flat-screen monitor flashed white as his avatar kissed the ground unconscious. He screamed in his native language — Arabic, “Huh? What the—”
The in-game moment flashed a part of him. He was knocked down by a marine's assault rifle, face-first. As he fell down, the dusts from the war came onto his mouth. Last things he heard is a girl's scream, and a nasal laugh.
He shook his head, regaining his consciousness back to gaming. He saw his in-game character dragged away by Camilla and others. Why am I remembering that thing? I'm done with that shit!
He wiped his face with his dirty white shirt. It smelt salty, and more droplets of water drenched his nose, forehead and cheeks. The afternoon sun, and the warmth of his customized desktop computer, swamped his palms.
He typed in fast in-game, « Am I dead yet, Camilla? Sorry guys, I AFK'ed. »
