Obscure-Mystic Media
Sydney, Real World
Upon the steps of the main entrance and beyond was packed with both families of those now trapped inside the digital world of Nimbor and the numerous journalists who wanted to be the first to cover this terrible but unique event, they all wanted to know what was being done to free the trapped players. From inside the building Marcus flanked by Jordan on his left and Arthur on his right stepped out and up to the podium that was covered in microphones.
“Welcome everyone, I wish this was under better circumstances but I’m sorry for all the trouble that Obscure-Mystic Media has caused through the actions of its CEO, Colin Mackenzie.” Marcus paused to sip at the glass of water that sat upon the podium, “My name is Marcus Forrester, Former CEO of Mystic Media, and now current Head of Testing and Development on Nimbor: Labyrinth Survival, and as of midnight last night we here at Obscure-Mystic have lost control of our worldwide servers. As it stands right now 1 million gamers over the world that we here dubbed the ‘First Wave’ are trapped within the digital realm of the game. We also regret to inform you all that through the rash and misguided actions of some employees and medical staff we have permanently lost 2,000 players to the digital world of Nimbor.”
Marcus swept his eyes over the collected faces before him, some families had tears in their eyes, while others showed contempt and hatred at what had happened to their loved ones. Marcus tapped at the keyboard upon the podium, and several of the large projector-like screens on either side came to life.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, to ensure that the remaining players are safe, my second-In-Command and I were working on a side project attached to Nimbor. We named it Project Phoenix, it was to show the talents of those who wished to pursue a career as entertainers. It also doubles as a monitoring system that allows us to live stream content from within the game to the outside world. But due to the current state of the project, we had to limit the number of spots available and could only select up to 5 players per country to live stream.” Marcus paused to take another sip of water from the glass, “Today we’ll be showcasing the first ‘Episode’ of these streams.”
There were a few murmurs of confusion from the families, while the journalists were showing signs of excitement at the thought of the live stream episodes. Marcus tapped away on the keyboard, soon the massive screens showed the beginnings of the first episode of Nimbor: Labyrinth Survival.
“What you are seeing at the moment is the load screen as we log into the streaming project,” Marcus said.
The screens flashed quickly and slowly the stream visualized an area on the edge of a large forest of conifer trees, the camera tightens upon a group of three young women and a young male. From the angle of the camera, it was clear to everyone that what they were seeing was not a happy scene, with one of three women holding a deadly looking spear at the young male. Marcus instantly recognized his oldest child by the raven-like hair that matched his own as well as the two dark auburn heads of his twin daughters, in the moment all he could as a father was to wait and watch as the scene before his green eyes.
