Andrew would have liked to say the move was a monstrously difficult task but it wasn't they had started early in the day moving through the woods was quite enough for it to almost be peaceful they didn't even run into any roaming bands of birds, and they spent most of their time boredly walking. The only thing of any real interest was the plethora of small talk and gossiping that the group engaged in, Andrew not being the sort for gossip left with the other hunters to look for any useful materials in the surrounding woods. Even here Andrew was disappointed by how mondain everything was although he did let himself have a moment of self derision at having come to find anything here normal. As the day came to a close he even sat out for the watch only to find nothing happening the entire night, and so with strange feeling of relief and disappointment Andrew started the next day.
They moved slowly well the probably moved as fast as a thousand people could through a new and unknown forest the trip was rife with falls and trips. Twisted ankles and splitters were the least of their problems though keeping everyone together and on the same path was a gargantuan task even considering the number of people that were working together. Even so they had to send people to backtrack and find stragglers and their pace slowed as a result and by the end of the day the still hadn't reached the pass. As the group settled down to camp for the night Andrew took out his spear and began to clean it, it was one of the few bronze pieces that Lee and Don were able to make before they left it was of poor quality like most of their stuff however there were signs of marked improvement the wood of the spear's shaft was well cut and straight not the crooked and almost strat things they had used before now when he moved the weapon he felt its power as it followed his movements.
Andrew was no martial artist but he learned enough to know how it was supposed to work how strength was supposed to flow from the ground through your legs to your core and out from the arms the kinesthetic links or some such thing. Andrew briefly moved as he thrust the spear forward it felt good, cool, but also a bit embarrassing he was playing around with what was basically a sharp stick and most likely if someone saw him he would be scalded for swinging around a weapon. Still he felt proud being able to hold it it was one of the best things they had managed to make here after all a little piece of history and hope. Andrew looked at his refection in the bronze spear head, he looked at the color that strange mockery of gold that was bronze and he wondered what the people of antiquity felt when they saw it where they impressed by these things or did they hold them in no hier regard than he would a cell phone? sighing Andrew pushed those thoughts away as he tried to get some sleep they were in for a long trek tomorrow.
Andrew woke to a chill breeze as he moved to stand the condensation of the night dropped of him as he stretched he looked up to see the large moon it's crescent shape as it hung over head. Yawning Andrew began to gather his things as he prepared for the day's journey they were close now and would probably get threw the pass today. After gathering his things Andrew went and began to build a fire it was the rules of the group if you got up first you had to prepare the fires for breakfast, as he stoked the flames Andrew chewed into one of his remaining power bars he had strangely enough grown to like them in the short time he had to eat them. Soon though his thoughts turned towards the newly formed fire as he feed it sticks of wood and other debris he could pull out, warming up by the fire he took out a few of the bird eggs he had on him and the crude clay bowl he had made and started to cook himself some food.

"God dammit five more minutes couldn't you let us sleep for five more god forsaken minutes!" David moaned he was wrapped up in what looked like five layers of blanket and had his head completely covered.
"Person ... *Yawn*... ah personally I like having a new space heater." Lance said as he got up and moved closer to the fire before laying down close to it.
"Keep that close to it and I'll light you on fire." Andrew told Lance who just grunted before minutely shrugging away he moved such a small amount Andrew had to wonder if he even moved at all. Rolling his eyes Andrew turned his attention to his other friend.
"And you you're going to die from carbon build up if you keep sleeping like that." Andrews speech was interrupted by David as he let out a rather heated. "Fuck off!" before trying to further collapse in on himself in his weird blanket fortress.
Shrugging Andrew went back to fixing his breakfast he had to use lard to grease his bowl in order to keep the eggs from sticking to the clay that and add some type of tuber that they had found it wasn't very good. But Lee and Maril add it to the must eat list for the group saying that it satisfied nutritional needs. Andrew didn't like them the tasted like someone mixed a potato a onion and a carrot then said 'This is awful let's make it worse by making it sour!' Some people liked them of course and Andrew pitied them the poor sad fucks.
As Andrew sat down and ate his now slightly sour eggs he had to wonder if they would ever find salt or pepper or really any herb that would make this taste better and not cause weird magical problems. The thing that really terrified him though is the fact that he would probably get used to the taste of the things maybe even like it. Taking another bite of eggs Andrew started to rant about it in his head. 'Honestly if your body tells you something is poisonous your response should be to spit it out not keep forcing yourself to eat it till your body just gives up on you and accepts its fate! Only a fucking nutjob would do that Andrew finished his rant with his eggs and drank some water to get rid of the after taste.
'Damn im thankful at the brains horrendous ability to multitask I barely tasted a thing.' Having one last stretch to loosen up Andrew got to cleaning his dish and putting it away with the rest of his stuff.
"Well guys I guess this is the day hope you guys are ready for another perilous trek to the promised land." Andrew said sarcastically.
"Yay..." Lance mumbled as he lazily lifted one arm up.
"In five minutes." David groaned from under his blankets.
Andrew ignored the two as he gazed at the distant mountain and the pass it held that would hopefully take them to a less dangerous and more plentiful land or at least some farm land. Sighing Andrew shifted the weight of his backpack the starry sky above him looked even more massive than usual with caused Andrew to smile as he turned around to find that two blanket fortress had set up shop closer to the fire.
"Oh come on! Just get the fuck up already!"
