All the gods from all across the realms gathered around at a particular spot to do a very specific thing.
They were all being especially quiet and weary, not wanting to disturb their surroundings. As if they were afraid of disturbing something.
The thing that made the thousands and thousands of gods afraid was a being unlike any other. This being currently had a humanoid appearance, but everyone knew what the being really looked like. The towering size and unimaginable power of the being caused nightmares for all the gods and they whimpered like little children would.
This being was called ‘The Overseer.’ As the name suggests, the job of the being was to oversee over everything, making sure that everyone did their jobs correctly. It would watch over the gods, and if anyone of them did something wrong, it would appear out of nowhere and kill them before vanishing again. No god would be given a second chance, or a chance to explain or to give excuses… If you did something wrong, you die. It’s as simple as that.
It’s said that billions of years ago a group of about 300 of the strongest gods in existence challenged the Overseer, tired of being unable to do as they wish. They were gods after all! Why were they subject to rules and regulations?!
The battle, if it can even be called a battle, didn’t even last a second. The Overseer simply looked at the gods and waved its hand, and all the 300 gods were wiped from existence, never to be seen again.
Coming back to the present, we find the humanoid appearance of the being surrounded by thousands and thousands of gods. The being was huge even in this humanoid appearance, with its size larger then most suns. Although unlike suns, instead of releasing light, the Overseer looked as if it was sucking all the light from the surroundings. The body was completely pitch black and looked like an endless void.
The reason all the gods were being so quiet was because they knew that the only chance of getting rid of this nuisance was with the element of surprise. One mistake and The Overseer will wake up and wipe them all out, or worse…
The gods kept getting closer and closer, inching towards the monstrous body. They soon had it completely surrounded and they were in such a formation that no god would hurt another with their weapons or spells. It looked as if they had been preparing for this day for years…

Finally, with a signal from the god leading the charge, everyone present attacked The Overseer with everything they had. The front lines consisting of the melee fighters unleashed their divine weapon’s most powerful skills. The back-lines supported them with magic so powerful it would be capable of destroying whole Solar Systems with ease. They kept on and on attacking, they knew they only had one shot. If they failed, they would die. So they went all out, not holding anything back. It was the first time they had used their powers to such an extent, and they all hoped that it would be enough.
After days of unrelenting attacks, the gods had finally exhausted all their powers. They backed away from the place The Overseer had been, waiting for the dust and debris to settle. When the area finally cleared, what they saw was exhilarating! The ground was full of craters, but what excited them was that the Overseer was nowhere to be found!
They had killed the most powerful being in the multiverse! Cheers erupted all around as the tired gods hugged each other! They would finally be able to do whatever they wanted, and most of them were already thinking of what they would do with their newly found freedom.
As the cheering gods started to leave the place, they failed to realize that something was weird. How were they able to defeat such a powerful existence that had been present since the beginning of time so easily?
The answer to the question was simple: because The Overseer had allowed them to do so.
He had been tired of being all alone at the top, with everything and everyone afraid of him. He had never actually ‘lived’, he had just existed with all this immense power since the beginning of time. Now, he was tired of his empty life, and had allowed all the gods to ‘sneak’ up on him and ‘kill’ him.
For The Overseer knew that truly killing him is impossible. He somehow knew that as soon as he died, he would just be born again somewhere. How he knew this was a mystery to him, he just knew it since as far back as he could remember.
The Overseer, finally free from his duties, prepared excitedly for the adventure up ahead. For the first time in his long, long life, he would actually be born!
