Diablo got into dense mana mode and tried stopping the nail approaching him but he couldn't and to add things another nail came from the opposite direction and smashed him.

Diablo got sandwiched between them .due to the impact nails retracted their paths due to which diablo was falling down .

He fell down on a nail .
