Zemaku, Lea, Toji, and Goki make their way to Thumbs Execution in town square at Thumbs Theater called Thumb Hall Theater. Thumb Hall Theater was once a movie theater used before the war to play movies of various genres; however, the Theater was repurposed to be Thumbs way of making examples of who he deems to be Rebels. So far, this method had been working pretty well for Thumb until now.
Neon War Chapter 16 ESCAPE!!! Thumbs men are on the lookout
"So do you guys remember the plan?" Zemaku said, having prepared his first ever plan, as his father was too stressed to come up with a proper plan for this mission—a first in Bill’s entire career.
"Yes," Lea, Toji, and Goki said all together.
"I snoop around, looking for information on how long the commercial breaks are," Toji said.
"And I destroy cameras from a distance with my A.M.D.," Goki said.
"Then I use my fire magic to burn any guards that will come after us, helping us escape," said Lea.
"Yes, good," Zemaku responded. "Very good."
Let’s get going Zemaku said as Lea Goki and Toji Start out the plan and by the afternoon they have gotten all the information needed
"So then, how long are all the commercial breaks?" Zemaku asked Toji.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
"About 2 hours long each," Toji responded. "All of the ads are just pro-Thumb propaganda that Thumb always plays during these executions. Thumb usually, from my experience, only ever had these ad breaks last 1 minute. From my digging, the reason why he made the commercial breaks this long this time was because he thinks it will be a big event that will stop all rebels as we know it. Still, Thumb's pretty cocky—he’s given us all the room necessary to complete our plan. It does not seem right," Toji said, finishing his report, a bit worried.
"It could be a trap," Zemaku said. "But what’s Thumb’s gain here?" Zemaku wondered.
"I think I know," Lea responded.
"Go on then," Zemaku urged Lea to continue the thought.
"Well, you see, from what I’ve heard from word of mouth around the area, Thumb is apparently worried about you, Zemaku," Lea said.
"Worried about me?" Zemaku said in shock.
"Yeah, apparently Thumb sees great potential in you—so big it’s beginning to scare him a bit. Apparently, your ability to get stronger with your emotions is a sign that you’re a rare breed of fighter, in Thumb's own words. While Thumb has not outright said anything, everyone can tell that you scare him," Lea said.
"I see," Zemaku responded, contemplating what Lea told him.
So then I have untapped potential, Zemaku thought to himself. I guess it’s best to think on that some other time. For now, let’s go on with the plan.
Later on, during the first ad break, Zemaku’s plan commenced. An air of unease was in the air as Zemaku successfully pulled it off, but once they were on their way out on the hoover car, a familiar face stopped them. A man cut their car in half with a flamsword—an ancient Kyozan sword that was said to have fire to burn an infinite amount of fire and flames that could keep burning for one whole month if not put out. The man standing before Zemaku and friends is Joe.
