"You are lying. I heard your heartbeats." Viette argued.
"Is that so?" Boian let out a deprecating smile. "Then maybe I have it."
"Then why are you still safe." Viette curiously asked.
"Why? Haha. What makes you think my heart is on the left chest?" Boian questioned back.
"Are you saying your heart is in the right side? No. That is a lie. I spend hours beside you. I heard your rhythmic heartbeat. Either I stabbed your heart but you have some ability to still survive or…..you could...move the location of your heart according to your will. Which is it? You moved it, right? I knew it. I knew this will be a stupid idea."
"Aren't you clever? Oh, Viette. I didn't think you have such intelligence in that cute head of yours." Boian teased.
"Now, you know. My aunt always says that I am so clever and obedient. I am a good girl." Viette seemed pleased with that tease as she mistook it for a praise. Her smile was still exquisite despite her face was half pressed on to the bed.
"So, what are you?" Boian asked.
"Human. My aunt told me I am a special human." Viette told him proudly.
"Haha. Then your aunt is wrong. There is no such thing as a special human. If they have something that makes them special, then they are not human anymore." Boian sighed looking at his own hand.
Boian then looked at his chest. The wound made by the pencil was slowly healing up. His healing power had degraded due to the lack of blood in his heart. Despite him acting like he was fine, Viette's attack did him some harm. It expedited his deadline. Now he had to get the blood as quickly as possible.
"My aunt is always correct. When she said, drinking hot water after eating spicy food will make your insides feel like burning, it did. So, whatever she says will be correct." Viette did not want to concede.
"Do you know anyone besides your Aunt?"
"No."
"Have you met or talked with any others?"
"Hmm." Viette's smile disappeared with Boian's array of questions.
"You have no outside contact and you say everything your aunt says is correct?"
"Who told you I know no one else besides my aunt?" She pouted.
"You know others?" Boian asked expecting her to leak information useful for him.
"Yes. I know you and I have talked with you a lot today." Viette said with pride.
"Are you really like this or you are just acting like a stupid child?" Boian stared at her.
"I am not a child.
I have grown up.
Do you know how old I am?
Why did you call me stupid?" Viette rambled on with a sad face until she heard an angry shout from Boian.
"QUIET."
'I need to think this through.' Boian thought about the best solution to get out of this situation.
He could escape or confront.
These two choices had many variables he needed to keep in his mind.
If he runs away, he could be hunted by the owner of the house. She might file a complaint against him and with Viette being the witness can make his appearance known to authority. He had to change his appearance if that happens. If Viette recognizes his energy imprint or if the house has a mechanism that records his Energy imprint, it will be very difficult to hide. He had used his Soul Energy to dismantle the Umbra Araneus without thinking this.
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
Changing his appearance was not a big deal for Boian, but he did not want his Energy to marked on. That will give him tight restrictions and prevent him from making a public appearance unless he wanted to have an all-out fight against the authority.
The severity of the hunt will depend on the influence of this Aunt. Since he broke into this house and destroyed the Umbra Araneus, leaving like this will make her bear a huge grudge against him. If he left, he will not be able to explain himself at all.
He could only escape temporarily if he kills Viette and destroys any evidence against him in the house. If she is a human, the Enforcers will be on his tails and that will make it extremely difficult to escape. Even if she is something else, he would be marked by them for the crime. The functions of that STONE was very mysterious. The Omniscient Stone just made it so much hard for people like him to do a couple of mischiefs. In the name of protecting people, poor Evil beings like him got no privacy at all. Can't even have fun nowadays. Boian could only sigh thinking about this. It sure was enjoyable in the Nefarion world despite the pain. On the bright side, his life here was peaceful until today.
Viette could be important to that owner since she called her Aunt all the time and seemed to be very close to each other. This would make their conflict irreconcilable and create a fight to the death. If Viette was not considered a toy, then the act of just breaking in would get him an angry enemy. Also, he somehow did not want to harm her.
The other option was risky, but it would give him a higher chance to get out of this mess without trouble.
His initial plan was to confront the domain's owner and explain his situation. He did not notice that the house was Evil being's domain until Viette excitedly hit the wall when he transformed himself into a bat. Others might not have noticed it, but he could tell that the excited jumping up and pummeling was partially an act Viette did to 'communicate' with someone.
The rhythm was a code for communication. He could remember this code from somewhere. It was a common communication method in Nefarion. Since Viette knew it, she had relation with the Evil side of this world.
But she appeared to be a human. No matter how many times he pried her soul and body with his senses, she appeared to be a complete human. This made him curious. Extremely curious.
If Viette was human, then the other person must be an Evil being to know the code mainly used in Nefarion. There were multiple cultural acts that the Evil beings in this world use from Nefarion, but the creation of the treaty and the closing off agreement had led to the isolation of the world from having contact from Nefarion.
Boian assumed the other Evil being taught Viette the code. But that made even more curious. A complete human knowing the existence of the Evil side was forbidden. The ease at which she received him and how she dealt with the situation by alarming the other person made him interested in Viette.
Usually, Evil beings make their presence known in their domain, much like animals make boundaries of their territory. This practice was to notify and warn other Evil beings to avoid the area if they ever plan to hunt for humans. They usually keep sufficient distance from these domains to carry out their activities as a sign of courtesy.
But this house did not have that.
It did not have any marking of a domain.
It did not have any protective features.
It did not have any sort of indicator that announced the presence of an Evil being until he entered and observed.
Even though he felt something fishy when Frank pointed here without accompanying him, his confidence made him jump into this. Maybe he was used to jumping into these traps in Nefarion. He was assured that there was nothing that could threaten him. The beings in this world were weak. He could face against a Lord with little trouble. But this time the human factor of Viette made it different. Touching a human intensified everything because it made the Enforcers to jump into the equation. Enforcer's involvement meant trouble and restriction to his freedom.
Viette appeared to be stalling for time as she was dealing with him and he quietly accepted it as his curiosity made him want to spend more time with her. He was planning to confront the Evil being when it gets back and talks his way out. It might sound difficult, but with his mysteriousness and gimmicks, he was confident in making the being wary and leave him as the situation of this World made violence less convenient for both parties. He could explain how he was led here by DBSL and get himself out unless it was a trap set for him. Boian disregarded that conclusion seeing how Viette reacted. Despite acting odd and scheming a little, he felt she was completely curious and frank with most of her reaction.
He looked at Viette, who was struggling the urge to talk but controlled it by puffing her cheeks, with interest.
"Why did you stab me? When you were tapping on the bed and communicating with your aunt, I did not hear her asking you to do that?"
Viette didn't answer him but made some whining voice with her puffed cheek.
"Oh...What is it? Just talk."
"Fuuuu. Do you know how hard it was to not talk?" Viette pouted.
He couldn't help but get mesmerized by her cuteness. 'Was she waiting for me to permit her to talk?'
"You did not answer."
"Answer what?"
"Since you decided to hurt me instead of stalling for time, there is no reason for me to hold back. Right?"
He bared his fangs.
Boian understood he had gotten himself into a deep pit already. He still could climb out of this. But he would have less chance to hide his existence at this rate. Regardless he did something to Viette or not the person behind was coming for him. That person will most likely hunt for him.
This could be the craziest thing Boian had done in the last decade. With new resolution, he declared in his mind.
'I am not going back. I will not climb back. I will dig through this pit to reach the other side of the Earth.'
