Part #013 - Necropolis I

Part #013 - Necropolis I

The possible means of escape were effectively cut. Nothing looked promising to Sybel.

As for little Filius, he was absolutely mortified. He couldn't comprehend the situation as clearly as Sybel, but he understood that where he stood was where others have died.

He didn't know what to do, he didn't even know what to think. His mind was absent of any real thought other than, "I'm going to die." This same phrase repeated over, and over, and over until it was all that filled the void conscious thought.

As the group standing in front of this wooden platform quieted down from a conversation they were having amongst themselves, one of them stepped forward and rolled out a scroll. This person read the following decree aloud for all in the courtyard to hear: "By order of the Ninth Sect, and all subsequent denominations as well as the Queen Regent of our Glorious Country, these two criminals are to be put to death for their crimes against the living and the dead."

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

"I told you that it's only a facination with the dead!"

"They are to be put to death via executioner."

Filius looked even more terrified that, after everything, he was just going to bite the dust just like that. No grand spectacle, no fiery explosions...nothing...

This realization of nonexistence began to sit, idled in his stomach. He just couldn't bear the weight of knowing that he'll cease to exist after this. He didn't know where he was or how he got here, but all he knew was that this place was not the world he knew and that he may not get a third chance after this.

So he quietly murmured to himself, having fallen into a deep state of despair that he had not reached before.

"H-Hey Fil! Stay with me," Sybel whispered over to him in order to try to get him to snap out of it. "FILIUS!!" She whisper-yelled at him to no avail. He was gone, he had completely given up at this point.
