THE NARWHALS: RIACA'S RESEARCH (FIRST PART)

----------------------------------------

It doesn't often happen that a species rises above all others (much like humans) and evolves in such a way that it develops consciousness and its own ability to survive, becoming one of the most intelligent forms of life on the planet.

The Humanoid Narwhals are one of the oldest species (from the earliest stages of their evolution) to have ever inhabited the planet Aquarus following its formation. With an extensive culture, art, and history, they prove to be a complex species, full of pieces yet to be discovered.

Like humans, the Humanoid Narwhals possess different traits that can vary from individual to individual, such as sex, body structure, possible disabilities, or ethnicities. Nevertheless, there are still common characteristics shared by every member of the species, defining who they are:

First of all, they have bodies similar to that of a human (which is why the word "Humanoid" is included in their name), though with notable variations from the usual human appearance.

* Height, body structure, and weight: Narwhals are significantly taller than humans, with an average height around 2 meters, and the tallest of them reaching up to 3.5 meters. Of course, these factors are influenced by age or simply by genetics at birth. It is important to note, however, that Narwhals' bodies are more prone to physical strength due to the simple fact that, because of their height and the corresponding effort required for movement, they burn fat more quickly, revealing their muscles much more easily. Another important thing to note is that there are no real, concrete biological "advantages" between males and females in this species. Unlike in humans, men are not biologically stronger than women—they are equal.

* Horn: All Humanoid Narwhals have a horn as a basic feature, located above their forehead, on top of their hair. It is a yellowish horn with a spine-like shape, featuring several ridges along its outer surface. The horn also serves an additional purpose. It is technically connected to the face, allowing water, for example, that is held in the mouth to be transferred through the horn and expelled in a pressurized burst. This feature, in particular, has various uses among the species. One example is its application in metal refining, similar to the process of Water Jet Cutting, which is practiced in various Narwhal communities.

* Tail: Their tail is similar to that of a dolphin, consisting of a caudal fin with two horizontally oriented, symmetrical lobes. It is flat and wide, without bones, made of fibrous tissue, and covered in smooth skin. It is used for propulsion, moving up and down to push the Narwhal through the water.

* Gills: Gills, in general, are respiratory organs found in many aquatic animals, such as fish and crustaceans. They allow gas exchange with water, absorbing oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide. Since Narwhals originate from a marine species, they still have gills, but over the course of evolution, these have lost much of their effectiveness.
