[Chapter Size: 1800 Words.]
Third Person POV
Fire Country, Year 36.
...
...
Everyone finally arrived at the gate of Konoha. Even Aburema and Yamanaka had joined the group coming to the village instead of returning to the battlefield.
The gate guards soon saw Team 7, Team 2, the two men from the battlefield along with Nara's team, Uchiha, and the civilian approaching the village gate.
Some Anbu spotted this from hidden locations and immediately went to inform the Hokage about it, while the group began moving towards the gate.
"Jiraiya!" The men at the gate greeted him as a student of the Hokage, but at that time they did not treat him with the honorific "SAMA" since he was not yet a legendary sannin.
After greeting the men, they were finally inside the village. Jiraiya turned to everyone, "The Jonins will come with me to the Hokage's tower, as for you..." He looked at the genins, especially his own students.
"Well, you go to your homes, take a bath and rest a bit, I will meet with you later," he said as everyone nodded and then dispersed.
"We will go later," Minato told his team, while the girls nodded and each went their separate ways.
Minato soon started walking towards his apartment, just before he began leaping across rooftops, quickly reaching his destination. He arrived in front of his door while hearing a door open nearby and saw the old lady, looking at him at that moment with an unpleasant gleam in her eyes.
"You're finally back, I've missed you," she said with a toothless smile that immediately sent shivers down Minato's spine. In this world, nothing scared Minato more than this woman, so he quickly opened his door and vanished from the old lady's sight.
"I'll have to make a clone to watch the door later..." He couldn't help but comment with a sigh now inside.
He looked around and his apartment was no different than before, after all, the mission had lasted only a few days. He then went to the kitchen, prepared a pot of hot water and threw in some raw ramen, while he went to the bathroom to take a shower, changing into casual new clothes and returning to eat his meal.
He ate quietly alone and finished up by setting aside the dishes to wash later. After that, he let himself fall onto the bed heading to the bedroom.
"Finally back... I hope to see Kushina soon and see how she is..." He murmured, longing to see the redhead, but today would not be the day for that, after all, he wanted to rest after the intense long days and would meet his team later.
Meanwhile, in the Hokage's office, the place was filled with all the jonins from the mission, passing their reports to the Hokage. While he quickly read through them all, at the end, he murmured, "Well..." Turning back to look at all the ninjas, he continued, "Anyway, you can go rest. I just want to talk to my student," Hiruzen commented as everyone began to withdraw, earning a break for the next few days during their stay in the village.
As soon as Jiraiya was left alone in the office, Hiruzen raised his hand and pulled out a pipe, which he lit and began to smoke quietly while his gaze returned to the window, blowing out smoke. Jiraiya remained silent the entire time.
"It seems it was exactly as you informed me..." Hiruzen commented while turning back to look at Jiraiya. His student had already sent a frog with information about the mission along with his report. This procedure was a common way to review the reports of all involved and discover new details and viewpoints from others.
"It seems we got out of a big mess, even Damayo was captured in the end, which is quite concerning," Hiruzen commented. "I will double the guard, already preparing some teams to head to the capital by the end of the afternoon and even moving some major ninjas from the border." Hiruzen added.
"About the deceased..." Jiraiya was about to comment, but the Hokage spoke before he could finish.
"Don't worry, I've already informed the clans about their deaths, especially the Senju clan, with another member being killed. Tomorrow we will hold a proper funeral with the bodies you brought; they will not be forgotten, for their deaths were not in vain," Hiruzen commented. There were not just three fatalities, but all the security personnel guarding Damayo had also died.
"They deserve it," Jiraiya couldn't help but comment, and Hiruzen felt it, as this mission had removed a significant burden from Konoha's neck, especially since the village would have been in a very bad position with Damayo being taken to another enemy country.
Hiruzen changed his usually calm expression and looked at Jiraiya at that moment with a much more serious gaze. "I knew there were some things the Jonins hadn't mentioned, but it all makes sense with all the reports, and you know how hard it is for me to believe what I read, that one of the boys who just graduated from the academy eliminated an entire squad, which was a force made up of two nations..." Hiruzen commented, waiting for Jiraiya's response, but continued his train of thought.
"I know he was a super prodigy on the bell test you conducted, but still, he should be at least at your level to do such things," the Hokage commented, while Jiraiya remained neutral.

Jiraiya sighed, knowing that Minato's performance would soon be discovered and it would draw attention. He had mastered that jutsu and used it in a way he never imagined; he had to admit that the boy made the Raijin proficient for combat like never before seen.
"He mastered that jutsu..." Jiraiya finally admitted at the end, having no reason to hide this technique.
Hiruzen looked doubtfully at his student, but then his eyes widened. "The jutsu of the Second Hokage?" he asked immediately.
"Yes, hard to believe, isn't it? He's just a child. But you had to have seen what I witnessed... I saw him killing ninjas with that jutsu like I never imagined before. I didn't even know the Jutsu could be used in that way the boy did," Jiraiya admitted, still remembering how Minato easily killed his opponents, with all his kunais and seals thrown through the forest in the midst of the fight, where he teleported with ease in that space and deceived even experienced Jonin with his super-speed.
"So, he learned the Jutsu and you're saying he used it in a different way?" Hiruzen repeated, but more to himself than to his student. After all, even though that jutsu was used by the Second Hokage, his teacher used it only to teleport from one place to another, it was never a jutsu used in intense combat, only for emergencies during fights...
Jiraiya continued speaking. "It's hard to explain, of course, the boy, besides mastering the jutsu, knows how to use it with maximum efficiency. It's not just that the boy managed to eliminate an entire squad, he also saved the very Damayo without harming him at all," Jiraiya spoke proudly. There was also the issue of those holes Minato left in his last battle, but he would speak with the boy later, after all he said he was mastering a new jutsu.
"Interesting, really interesting," Hiruzen murmured, a bit pleased. "Anyway... it seems we have an even greater talent than I expected," he said and was satisfied, as Minato seemed very loyal to the village.
"But something happened, a ninja escaped and he fought against Minato and survived, escaping from me when I asked the boy to go after our feudal lord. Probably the boy's jutsu scared them so much that they even issued a mission to pass the information about what they saw to the Stone Village..." Jiraiya spoke with a somber tone.
Hiruzen took another puff on his cigar, maintaining a thoughtful expression. "That seems bad, probably the boy will be a target if this information gets out during the war."
"Yes, but I will protect him, after all, it was my fault. I let him escape," Jiraiya spoke with a guilty tone.
"That's alright, I will give you authority when you go to war. It's in the village's interest for the boy to grow... after all, we need strong people in tough times," Hiruzen said.
"Now you may go, rest a bit. I want you on one of the borders soon, so you better prepare," Hiruzen spoke, and Jiraiya nodded, leaving the room.
Meanwhile, outside the Leaf Village, or rather, outside the Land of Fire, a man approached his village in the Land of Stone as the sole survivor of an entire mission.
There were more ninjas who were responsible for creating diversions in the capital cities, according to their plans, but the Aburame ninja acted quickly and captured everyone, leaving only him alive.
As soon as he crossed the border, being pursued until then, the Stone ninjas let him through, and he went into the interior of the country, until he finally saw the gates of the Stone Village. He sighed, quickened his pace, and didn't stop until he reached the Kage's building, a place where he was stopped by the village's Anbu.
"You are not authorized to approach the Tsuchikage!" the Anbu said, but the ninja simply handed over a report to the Anbu, who took it and disappeared.
He had to wait 2 minutes before the Anbu returned. "You may enter," he said, and the survivor went inside, approaching the office door before opening it.
Oonoki was flying using his hats while looking out one of the windows, his village visible behind him.
"Tsuchikage-Sama," the ninja immediately kneeled, while the Kage did not move.
"All of them died," he stated calmly, while the ninja trembled a bit with this, as it wasn't easy being the only survivor.
"Yes, the mission was a failure. The Leaf Village anticipated our moves even though we changed the strategy; still, they caught us in the end, and I was the only survivor," the man said.
"Were you the only survivor, or did they ask you to come here?" Oonoki asked, turning his sharp gaze to the ninja.
The boy felt a bit embarrassed but nodded. "Yes, they said there was very important information that my leader told me to bring here to the village," he said.
Oonoki maintained a curious look, landing on the ground trying to understand what he was talking about. "What are you talking about, boy?" he asked, and the ninja took a scroll from his pocket, handing it to his Kage.
He opened it and began to read calmly, until his eyes started to widen with the information. "This can't be true," he said immediately.
