A Stupid Rivalry

"Pseudo-Uchiha! you don't deserve those eyes!"

A quick blur of punches and kicks came speeding towards the genin Yasaki. His eyes gave off a crimson hue. Unique to him, there were two tomoe within his clan's most feared dōjutsu. He could analyze the path of each fist and foot to properly counter them.

His opponent: his own teammate. Uchiha Anari, a fiery boy who showed animosity towards Yasaki. The two were constant enemies to one another due to their conflicting personalities, bloodlines, and ideals. Fire and water; two opposing natures in endless strife.

"Jealousy is a terrible disease!" Yasaki retorted while launching his own series of attacks.

Jisei Kiryo, once known as a hero of Konohagakure, had since retired from his shinobi duties. However, after prodding him to return to the occupation of jōnin, he was assigned a team. She was one of happiness and joy and was wise beyond her years. Of course, she would be the one to speak on the current situation.

"Yasaki. Anari. We're in the middle of an important mission. Do you two always have to do your nonsensical arguing during times like this?" she asked with concern. Her care for the situation snapped Yasaki from his anger. Her voice carried lightly into his ears, like a soft lullaby.

"At least one of ya' has some damn sense. I don't know what I'd do without ya', Kyūka."

The tragedy that struck next forever changed their lives. An ambush that they had never prepared for. Kyūka, while trying to protect Yasaki from the man behind him, received a blow of great power, knocking her unconcious.

She appeared to be lifeless, bruised, and bloodied. This sent a shockwave of emotion through both of the boys, and simultaneously, they awakened the next form of their dōjutsu. Their care for her broke their limits, and they managed to easily fight the group of missing-nin together.

He remembered with such detail how he felt, seeing her defeated like that. He could still feel that pain in his heart to the current day. Although she's healed, Yasaki still feels guilt for the incident.
