Chapter 3 - Hollowhaven

As the group stepped through the gates of Hollowhaven, they were greeted by a sight that left them in awe. The city sprawled out before them, suspended high above the Vastsea Gorge like a magnificent tapestry woven into the very fabric of nature itself.

Hollowhaven was a city of breathtaking beauty and intricate design. The buildings and structures were constructed from a harmonious blend of materials, including sandstone, woven textiles, and gleaming metal alloys. Nomadic-inspired architecture dominated the skyline, characterized by graceful, flowing lines and a capacity to adapt to the environment.

Their first steps led them into the heart of Hollowhaven, a place known as the Hollow Atrium. This open plaza, bathed in soft, warm light, was a stunning focal point of the city. Here, the diversity of cultures that had converged in Hollowhaven was on full display. Elaborately adorned tents and stalls lined the plaza's periphery, offering exotic goods from distant lands, from spices to silks, gemstones to rare curiosities. Merchants in vibrant robes called out to passersby, their voices creating a harmonious symphony of languages and melodies.

In the center of the Hollow Atrium, a colossal Crystal with tree branches sprouting out of it; its iridescent leaves reach for the sky. Its branches formed a natural canopy, offering shade and shelter to those who gathered beneath it. Hanging gardens adorned the tree, lush with vibrant flora from around the world. Colorful birds flitted among the leaves, their songs filling the air with enchanting melodies. Atop the atrium the Wind catcher towers reached to the sky designed to maximize airflow and provide natural cooling. These structures were not only functional but also exquisite in their beauty. They stood tall, with intricate lattice-work, catching the breeze to channel it into the city's alleys and plazas, ensuring comfort even in the heat of the day.

Hollowhaven was a city of connections. Elaborate bridges and walkways crisscrossed the gorge, linking different parts of the city together. These structures were adorned with nomadic-inspired motifs and patterns that seemed to come alive as the wind gently swayed the fabric and textile elements. Travelers moved from one side to another, enjoying the breathtaking views of the gorge below.

The marketplaces of Hollowhaven were alive with activity. Traders from distant lands had set up shop here, showcasing their wares in stalls adorned with richly colored textiles and ornate carpets. Spices from the deserts of Babylon, silks from the far reaches of Frotia, and gemstones from hidden caves were just a few of the treasures on offer. The air was filled with the tantalizing scents of exotic cuisine, and street performers provided a constant source of entertainment.

The city's inhabitants represented a tapestry of cultures and backgrounds. Nomads, traders, and explorers from all corners of the world had made Hollowhaven their home. This diversity was not only evident in the architecture and goods but also in the attire of the people who bustled through the streets. From Mangrove Elves to Half-Jinns to imposing Minotaurs lined the streets. Races from all over Mythosia gathered to trade goods.

Hollowhaven was not just a city; it was a living testament to the beauty of cultural diversity and ingenuity in a world where nature and civilization harmoniously coexisted.

Ryden walked up to a stout dwarf merchant; greying beard and piercing red eyes.

“Is there a Tavern near by?”

“Well hello to you too” the Dwarf replied. “ The Hanging Bridge Brews is close, a few minutes walk over the Emerald Walkway.”

“Great” Ryden replied and stormed off.

Akiko looked over at the merchant and mouthed “sorry” while Argus gave a nod as thanks.

As the group ventured further into Hollowhaven, the vibrant tapestry of the city's nomadic-inspired architecture unfurled before their eyes. The buildings bore intricate carvings of swirling patterns and vivid colors that seemed to dance in the warm sunlight. The bridges and walkways connecting the city were adorned with billowing fabrics, casting vibrant shadows on the cobblestone streets below.

They couldn't help but be captivated by the sight of Hollowhaven's inhabitants, a kaleidoscope of cultures and races from across the world. People in richly embroidered robes haggled animatedly at market stalls, children with faces painted in tribal patterns played games on the plaza's edge, and musicians strummed exotic instruments, filling the air with enchanting melodies.

Ryden, in search of refreshment and a place to unwind, approached a stout dwarf merchant with a greying beard and piercing red eyes. He cleared his throat and asked, "Is there a tavern nearby?"

The dwarf raised an eyebrow and responded with a hearty chuckle, "Well, hello to you too, traveler. You're in luck! The Hanging Bridge Brews is just a stone's throw away, a mere few minutes' walk over the Emerald Walkway."

"Great," Ryden replied with a nod of appreciation and swiftly stormed off towards the direction indicated by the dwarf.

Akiko, noticing the merchant's bemused expression, offered a sincere smile and mouthed, "Sorry." Argus, too, acknowledged the assistance with a respectful nod before following Ryden.

They made their way down the bustling streets, following the directions they had received. The Emerald Walkway was a marvel in itself, adorned with hanging plants and colorful banners that swayed gently in the breeze. As they walked, they could hear the distant sounds of laughter and conversation, the unmistakable signs of life and camaraderie that Hollowhaven so expertly nurtured.

Soon enough, they arrived at the Hanging Bridge Brews, a charming tavern with a rustic facade adorned with colorful tapestries. The aroma of roasted meats and exotic spices wafted through the open windows. As they pushed open the heavy wooden door, the lively chatter and clinking of tankards welcomed them inside.
