I was honestly scared. We were being chased by Fenrir, a giant wolf, and now we had to deal with who knows what! "Sphinx! We do not have time for this! Get out of our way!" Kitty snarled.
The mysterious voice spoke again, "YYOOUU SSHHAALL NNOOTT PPAASS UUNNTTIILL YYOOUU AANNSSWWEERR MMYY RRIIDDLLEE AANNDD PPRROOVVEE WWOORRTTYY OOFF TTHHEE SSWWOORRDD!!"
Prince, in an angry tone, asked, "So we just need the stupid sword?"
Kitty nodded, "Yes but Sphinx's riddles are impossible to solve because they make no sense. It took Alphonse forever to figure out the one Sphinx gave him!"
Prince rolled his eyes as he strode forward stopping in front of the sword and as he grabbed the handle he said, "Then don't bother answering and just take the damn thing." We all watched in awe as he yanked the sword from the ground in one swift movement. "There sword obtained let's go."
As a brilliant light appeared the voice spoke in a clearer tone, "Heeeeyyyy! You're supposed to answer my riddle not just take the sword! Also, did you realize that you have forgotten the rules of the challenge and are supposed to introduce yourself first, my new vict...I mean hero?" The creature standing in the middle of the room was a Sphinx. It had the head of a person with the body of a lion, the only difference between the legends and this one was the feathery wings it had. It flew over to look at Ice as it continued, "What happened to Ice? I thought he was unable to bleed cause of his immortality?"
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
"Just because he's immortal doesn't mean he's immune to injury, you idiot!" Kitty snapped.
Sphinx looked at her, "Ouch. Someone's pissy today." He then flew over to Kraken, "Hey KrakKrak~ How's it been, my girl?"
"Does it ever stop talking?" Prince asked.
"No/Nope" Kitty and Sphinx answered at the same time. Before Sphinx could say anything we heard that blood-curling howl echo through the tunnels again.
"W-Was that the sound of F-Fenrir!?" Sphinx asked, clearly scared.
"Yes and we're trying to escape these tunnels before he gets here and eats us." Kitty snarled.
Without any warning Sphinx flew in front before changing into a dog and running down the tunnel, leaving us behind as he shouted back, "I'll see you at the exit then!"
"He's not very brave, is he?" Prince asked.
All of a sudden, he was back and he grabbed Kraken gently in his mouth as he mumbled, "I am not letting Fenrir eat my Kraken!" before he took off back down the tunnel. We all followed in shocked amusement.
