Chapter 19

Sitting inside the caravan, Solarys and Lyria glanced furtively at Yuna and Emerys. The two young men had not uttered a single word since the start of the travel in caravan. The two young women didn't understand what was happening.

However, the dark looks they were sending behind the back of one of the young men travelling too with the caravan attracted the attention of the two young women. Was it because of him that the swordsman and the magician had accepted the caravanner's proposition?

Lyria frowned, thoughtful. A discussion came back to her. She leaned toward Solarys and whispered in her ear.

“Didn't they both say they were seeking someone?”

Solarys glanced at the angel with wide eyes. She nodded, thoughtful too. Was it possible this someone was the man they were fixing with anger? Did they search for the same person then?

The answer came when they made a pause. Solarys was the first one to see the head gesture Yuna did before going further away. Emerys followed soon; and Lyria came to her friend's side with a satisfied smile. Solarys raised an eyebrow when she saw Noriran subtly following the men.

“What is he doing?”

“He is going to listen to them. We are going to hear what they say magically.”

Solarys laughed. “Your wolf serves as your distant ears?”

“Exactly.” Replied Lyria with an amused smile.

Yuna's voice came into their heads, and Solarys had to gather all her willpower not to jump. Obviously used to it, this tease of an angel just glanced at archer with a faint smirk.

“We are far enough. So, we are really looking for the same man?”

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“And we found him.” A pause. “Should I understand you too have revenge in your heart?”

“You are clever.”

“Who... did he take?”

Another silence, before Yuna's pained voice came back. “My best friend. We were both orphans and we had decided to travel together to find a new village, a new home. He didn't go far. I then searched for this man to take revenge. I found all of you on my path. And you?”

“My...” Emerys didn't finish his sentence, sad.

“Girlfriend?”

“No!”

“Sorry, don't be angry.”

Emerys breathed out deeply then let out a small sigh. “Sister.”

“What?”

“He took my little sister. We lived peacefully in our village, with mom and dad. I left the village to search for this murderer.”

“Oh... I am sorry.”

“Don't worry; you suffered as much as me. What's evident is that this killer won't live much longer.”

“I agree.”

The conversation finished, Noriran came back to Lyria before Yuna and Emerys emerged. Solarys looked at her female friend with sad but determined eyes.

“We will help them.”

“I agree completely.” Answered the angel; a furious look toward the one she now knew as a murderer.

This said, the women joined their two friends inside the caravan as the caravanner announced the end of the break. But instead of taking their old places, Solarys went beside Yuna, and Lyria sat beside Solarys.

The young swordsman looked at his girlfriend with a small smile. The archer leaned in and kissed his cheek. And this way, she whispered into his ear.

“Count on us for your revenge.”

Yuna blinked, surprised. Solarys made a nod toward the magical wolf with a lopsided smile. The swordsman understood then and let out a chuckle. The magician turned toward him with a raised eyebrow. Yuna whispered to him then what Solarys told him. Emerys smiled and send a look full of gratitude toward his female friends.

The rest of the journey to Gandam went in silence. The killer had no inkling of the future planned for him by the four travellers the caravanner had taken on the path; like he had been taken on the path too some hours before finding this four young adults.

However, the killer couldn't help the furtive and subtle looks he send toward the two young men. They felt familiar. But no importance. His thirst for blood had been awakened. A malicious smile formed. The man with blue and green eyes as well as the woman with blue hairs would make good targets.

Only the other young man possessed a sword, so there would be no problem. He had his own sword, and didn't doubt in being the better swordsman. He was better than anyone.

So, nothing could go wrong, right?
