Chapter 4

"What is this strange feeling? It feels as if something foreign is in my blood, yet it feels as if it’s always been there. But if this is true, why am I just now sensing it. Maybe it was sealed away in my body, but it’s as ferocious as dragons. Maybe Minerva will know something." Adolé thought quietly to himself.

Soon night turns to day and it passes quietly. The next day, Minerva appears early to walk with Adolé back to the lab.

"Good morning young master Adolé. How did you sleep?" She asked.

"Minerva. Last night, I noticed something strange in my blood. It felt really powerful and foreign, yet felt as if it had been there all this time, but if that is the case why am I just noticing it?" He asked

Minerva reveals a hinting smile and said: "Some things reveal themselves with time and age young master. All things shall be revealed in time." After a short walk and admiring the scenery of flowers and large plants, they returned to the lab and moved onto the training grounds. After getting close to the testing grounds, they here a rumble.

The two arrive to see the father-son pair of Therion and Faust in battle.

"Spyros Spear!" A fire blast in the shape of a spearhead bolted towards Faust. He waves his hand and a shield appears.

Soon the fiery spear leaves large cracks in the shield.

"Therion, do not forget the purpose of this mock battle is to teach you better control of your magic. If that were to hit a normal person they would be more than dead. Using magic is only communicating with the god ki in the surrounding area. Imagine them as little balls of energy and to regulate the power, push those balls with corresponding force, you can’t always just force all that power out at once. One day you will hurt everyone around you, enemies and friends alike!"

"Shut up old man, come at me!" Therion replied.

Faust loses his cool for a moment and punches the ground. On the other side, an earth-like fist raises from under the ground beneath Therion and launched him into the ceiling. He soon falls to the ground as he waves his white flag without even lifting his head. On the sideline Adolé and Minerva laugh.

"You’re such a reckless fool. But I suppose one day that just may save you. Listen to me Therion I have told you time and time again. You have the blood of the strongest mage in you and you are also a prismatic mage, meaning you can use any type and attribute of magic. That is very rare and because of it, you will be targeted by certain forces so you must be able to protect yourself. Try to imagine containing or controlling the power like the old human game billiards. Too much and you miss your goal causing it to hit many other balls while too little and you fall short of your goal. Your magic sense is also lacking, you should’ve sensed the god ki under you change thus enabling you to react in time. Also, you stumbling fool, why must you always yell out the name of your magic, do you wish to alert the enemy of your location or what kind of magic you’re using? You can use chantless magic just like me, which is far more efficient and faster. It can also catch an enemy by surprise. If you wish to do that, find a way to incorporate it to deceive your enemy." Criticized Faust as he drags him to where Minerva and Adolé are.

"Hahaha." Adolé laughs.

"Oi, oi, you little shit. What are you laughing like a little girl about? You want to go at it with me you perv?" Therion spiritedly jumps to his feet and grabs Adolé’s shirt.

Adolé responds doing the same thing.

"Sure, anytime you good for nothing idiot!"

You can practically see the sparks flying between the two friends.

"Enough you two." Minerva and Faust exclaim at the same time, knocking the two in the tops of their heads.

"Are you ready Faust ?" Minerva asks.

"Yes, come this way."

Soon they enter a room that looks like a high tech training ground. In the center was a pedestal with the shape of a handprint. It was linked to a tall wall with the 7 attribute types forming a circle with five of those elements and two under it directly opposing one another.

Those attributes were fire, water, earth, wind, and lightning. Under those 5 were the two dark and light attributes.

"Adolé, using the self-inspection method, how much have you learned about yourself? You are almost 16. You should know at least one of your attributes, if not more if you have them present." Faust said.

"Yes, I seem to have inherited the fire attribute much like my father, but....." he suddenly stops.

"What is it?" Faust asked.

"There was something I also noticed in my blood. It was foreign but it seemed as if it had been a part of me since I was born." Adolé says.

"Ah, yes. Some things will be revealed with age and time." Faust replies.

Suddenly Adolé stares at Minerva. She simply smiles and he thought to himself.

"Surely these two know more than what they are letting on, I suppose I’ll have to ask my father or learn on my own."

"Adolé. Place your hand on the pedestal. Calm yourself and pour as much energy in until you can’t anymore. You may also feel a light prick, but fear not, it is only to see all possible attributes and other characteristics about yourself. Your affinity will determine how powerful and how much potential you can pull out of those attributes." Faust explained.

Adolé steps forward and places his hand on the pedestal per Faust’s instructions. Soon he winces in pain as he feels a light prick on all of his fingers. He ignores the pain and soon pours all the energy he can muster. The room is covered in a slight oppressive battle aura that warms and jolts the skin. This continues for a little over 15 seconds and soon Adolé withdraws his hand and kneels as sweat beads drop from his head.

"That thing is like an endless vacuum." Adolé says.

"Young one, turn your head to the large wall. These are your results and I must say. Your future will be interesting indeed." Faust says.

On the tall wall, the attributes of fire, light, and lightning were all lit up. The brightest of them all was the fire attribute.

"Adolé. Where is that necklace?"

"Necklace? Oh, the necklace my mother left me?" Adolé asks confusedly.

"Yes. that neckless. Have you perhaps tried probing through it yet?" Faust asked?

"And how do you suppose I “probe” a necklace?" Adolé asks sarcastically.

"You sure are a brawn for brains sometimes. Use your consciousness and spirit to form a spirit body and guide it into the necklace. By doing so you will be projected into a vast space. You may find something interesting in there considering how overprotective your parents were." Faust says.

"How do you know this?" Asked Adolé

"Because I created it for your mother and father. Because I’ve lived for so long I’ve picked up a thing or two over the years. Your parents also have a similar pair. For now, just do as I’ve suggested." Faust said.

"Ok."

Adolé pulls the necklace from his spear and he concentrates. An ethereal form of him is soon created and he enters the world inside the necklace.

What meets him is an endless space surrounded by sparkles and a sun and moon hanging in the sky.

"Wow. I never knew this was inside of here." Adolé says as he is amazed and he continues to look around. Soon he spots several doors, but they seem to be sealed.

"What is this?" He asks as he tries to analyze the door and he rubs his hands across it. Soon a blinding light envelops the door and soon a book replaces the door.

"“Ra’s wrath” I wonder what this book is. Maybe a cultivation technique." Adolé says.

Soon he begins to flip through the book and realizes that it’s a book of martial arts. He closes the book and tries another door. And what replaces it is a set of golden gauntlets with a sun inscribed on both and runic engravings. Soon Adolé begins to feel fatigued and decides to leave the space.

"How was it young Adolé?" Faust asked.

"It was amazing, how did you create something like that? And what are those doors? It seemed like every time I opened one it took a toll on me and after two I was spent, so I decided to leave." Adolé asks as fatigue begins to show on his face.

"What lies in there I have no idea, I was only tasked with creating the necklaces. Perhaps the doors are full of sealed things to help you along your path to protect you and will only be opened once you reach a certain level of strength, age, or a certain amount of time has passed. But those were things installed by your parents. The necklace can act as an item storage and nothing in there will rot and will remain the same way as you put it in if you take it out. Also if you wish to train in there the time inside is different, so if you stay in there for a day, approximately only a few hours have passed out here. You may not be able to practice physically, but at least you will be able to understand the concepts of cultivation techniques and boost your mental strength and defenses." Faust explained.

"Your sister has one as well, and if you two were to ever get into a fight with one another and it got to the point that you two want to kill each other, the two necklaces would fire off a shockwave strong enough to knock you both out and give you time to cool off. It’s kind of like your parents being around and telling you to go to separate corners. Your parents are also able to track you two as long as those remain on you. They have left a bit of their essence on them, so should they ever need to find you, it will lead them straight to you. There are also many other functions, but I will leave them for you to discover later on." Faust explained as he was pleased with his own creation.

"Wow. So speaking of my twin. I saw her taken by a man who had a scar going across his forehead and an x shaped scar on his cheek." Adolé suddenly remembered that fateful day.

"You two are twins and some say when twins are apart, there is an imaginary link between the two that is unbreakable. So when you get close to her, your entire being will know and sense her. It is an inescapable link. You may not have noticed before because she has always been close to you." Minerva explained.

"Adolé. What did you get from those doors you opened?" Faust asked.

"I received a book from the first door and a pair of gauntlets from the second." Adolé explained.

"Oi, hurry up and summon them so we can have a look!" Therion said impatiently.

"Sure. Umm I how do I do that?" Adolé asks

"Hahaha, are you really a genius? I guess that only appears when you’re fighting, you maniac." Therion mocked Adolé.

"How about we find out." An evil grin appears over Adolé’s face.

"Enough!" Minerva and Faust exclaim.

"Adolé. Use your consciousness to imagine what it is you want and simply call to it the same way and it will naturally appear." Faust explained.

"Ok." Says Adolé.

Soon the necklace begins to glow and a gauntlet and an old book appear from the necklace.

Therion quickly snatches the gauntlets.

"Ohhh. Let me have these Adolé, I’ll give you whatever you wan—-"

Therion bites his tongue as Faust knocks him over the head making Therion give it back.

"Adolé, may I see that book?" Minerva asked.

"Of course."

Minerva reads the title of the book and her hands begin to tremble.

"Boy. Your parents sure dote on you. We will begin training tomorrow at first light. You are to eat, sleep and breathe this book do you understand me?" Minerva quickly expressed her desire for Adolé to learn this martial art wholeheartedly.

"What’s the matter? Is the book of some kind of importance?" Adolé asks.

"This book is a complete copy of the cultivation techniques from the primordial God Ra! If you were to practice this and were able to comprehend at least 60% of it. There will not be many who will be your match in the future. Coupled with your talent and ability to simplify and improve, you just might barely be able to contend against a primordial god even if just for a little, but that depends on how you can comprehend. Seriously, how did your parents even come across this? I suppose they already knew you would have a fire attribute no matter how minuscule and hoped you would attempt to cultivate it." Minerva explained.

"Ok. Sure I got some super powerful technique, but there certainly must be some drawbacks of some sort. Fortune and misfortune go hand in hand." Adolé said.

"Ah so the pervert prince can be wise sometimes how shocking." Therion says mockingly as he rolls his eyes and laughs.

As he laughs Adolé kicks Therion into a wall and the two are at each other’s necks again.

"Of course there will be drawbacks. If you choose this technique you may not choose another technique with the same attribute. Also, training in this technique will take twice as long as any other technique of the same attribute." Minerva explained.

"How do you know so much about this? Have you perhaps seen it before ?" Asked Adolé

"No, what I know is merely rumors. You will have to explore the rest on your own. There aren’t many Primordial god tier books left anyway, so naturally, information on them is scarce. After all, although the primordial gods cannot die, they have their own goals and reasons and operate on a higher plane than ours." Explained Minerva.

"Due to us being so closely related to the gods naturally there is some information we have available regarding the old gods, devils and primordial gods. But, such information is only available to me and the elders." Minerva explained.

"Ah. Ok, I think I understand. Basically, you’re so old that you were around when they were." Therion began laughing uncontrollably.

Faust looks at his son and steps aside. Soon he offers a small prayer for him.

"Oi! Old man. What are you doing?" Therion asked.

Unknowingly Minerva’s rage had reached its peak and quietly it pooled. Soon she hit him so hard he flew out of the facility into the sky and became a twinkling light. She then turned around casually as if nothing happened or was out of the ordinary.

"Faust, you should really teach that boy some manners." Minerva said.

"Seems like I won’t be needing to teach him anything anymore." Sigh. Faust replied.

She turns coldly towards Adolé. "We will begin tomorrow. Meet me in my private quarters at first light." Minerva said

"....ok." Adolé said scarily.

"Faust, send that fool of a son of yours after you are through with him. He will receive special care from me." Minerva said as a murderous aura arose from her.

"Don’t kill him, Minerva." Faust asked hesitantly.

"I’ll treat him care." Minerva said evilly as she walked to her quarters.

Adolé and Faust both shudder. Afterward, like a comet from the sky, Therion soon falls down and crashes back into the ground creating a small size human hole. As he’s laying down he waves his white flag. Adolé and Faust say goodbye to each other and Faust dragged his son by the foot all the way to his room and Adolé leaves.

Unknown to anyone, a small glimmer shines on the attribute test wall.
