What a hard working Father!

Zi Yang wiped the sweat from his wrinkly forehead and muttered “Damn! That guy is strong!” Klink commented [How could you imagine the Grandmaster’s power? Dumb idiot.]

Zi Yang was speechless and replied “You’re a dumb idiot!” Klink fired back [I know you are but what am I?] Zi Yang gaped at the response and said “How old are you? I remember saying that in elementary school!”

Klink didn’t say anything anymore and Zi Yang chuckled before changing the subject “Anyway, shouldn’t I get some haven defying skill or something? Why do I have nothing?” Klink responded [You’re still a cripple. When you recover, you’ll get the system. As for right now, you’re on your own.]

Zi Yang frowned and complained “Why? So unfair! Other guys get the system right away! One guy even became a god as soon as he spawned!” Klink seemed to sneer and said mockingly, [Why don’t you ask the Grandmaster? It was his idea anyway. If you can’t function without the system’s help, then you’re just a waste of oxygen. What if I just disappear one day? Wouldn’t you be useless?]

Zi Yang rubbed his chin and hummed.

It seemed to be reasonable?

Then again, he didn’t want to be a cripple for the rest of his life…

Klink added [Though, I’m not here for nothing. There’s always rewards for hard work and smarts! Keep in mind, no sacrifice comes without benefits!]

Zi Yang retorted “What about the heroes that sacrifice their entire life to save the world, dying in the end?” Klink immediately replied [Those morons do get benefits, just not self ones. Their sons, daughters, family, etc get blessed by the world he saved, they prosper for generations until the blessing wears off. Also, the Hero himself gets a higher starting point in his next life!]

Zi Yang nodded understandingly and muttered “I sacrificed myself for a great cause, where’s my reward?” Klink retorted [If by ‘sacrifice’ you mean ridding earth of a retard like you, then I suppose that qualifies… Do you want a high-five?]

Zi Yang’s face turned black and he ignored Klink, pulling out a book from his desk and grabbing his fancy glasses, that he didn’t really need but used to look smarter, as he started to read in silence.

A few minutes passed

There was a knock on the door and it opened to reveal Zi Tian.

Zi Yang looked up from his book and closed it, noticing his son. He smiled happily and put the book down, saying “Tian’er! What are you up to?” Zi Tian smiled happily and replied “Came to see you, also we’re ready to start ‘that’ tomorrow.”

Zi Yang grinned and increased his wrinkle count by 40%! He rubbed his hands together and chuckled “Great! Now we won’t be as broke as a beggar on the street!” Zi Tian looked at his dad in exasperation, why did he always mention it like that?

Zi Yang rubbed his chin and frowned “Actually… I think I saw a beggar that had more money than me… What street was he on again?” before looking through his memories.

Zi Tian’s lips twitched and he coughed before asking “Dad. What are we going to do with those people?” Zi Yang came back to reality and asked “What people?” Zi Tian pointed his thumb behind him and Zi Yang blinked before his eyes brightened and he got serious, saying “I’ve already told you this.”

He paused for a moment and muttered “We’ll kill them all. I don’t need disrespectful trash in my clan. Plus I’m pretty sure that most of them are working with the Zhang clan. Those dumb bastards, they don’t even know that their death dates are coming soon… Hehe~”

He chuckled to himself and shook his head, looking at Zi Tian as he added “Surely you don’t have a problem with this? They’re already a lost cause. The new clan will consist of only 50 people for now… Excluding me and you obviously.”

Zi Tian’s eyes swirled with confusion, asking “Dad… Only 50 people, this…” Zi Yang’s expression was indifferent as he replied “Quality over quantity, kiddo. Don’t worry about my methods, just trust me.” he paused and frowned, adding “Though, I suppose it will be tough for some of them.”

Zi Tian sat down at the desk, asking “Tough?” Zi Yang looked at him and explained “I will have to give multiple people multiple responsibilities…” he turned his head to the side and added “Though it shouldn’t be a problem… In fact we could probably double down on some of the tasks.”

Zi Tian was confused and asked “Dad, tell me. Maybe I can help?” Zi Yang tapped his lips before speaking “I want an assassin division as well as an information gathering division, but these can be merged into one group…”

His eyes brightened and he slammed his hand on the desk, saying excitedly “That’s it!” Zi Tian looked curious, clearly interested in his father’s work, as he asked “What’s it?”

Zi Yang giggled crazily and said “We’ll have an assassin outpost in the city that only operates on collecting missions, the actual assassins will be working in disguise somewhere else collecting information.”

He scratched his chin and grinned, drawing out a map of Purple Flower City. He marked the various spots that he had visited and explained “The Inn will be a spot for the spies, and the brothel will be changed to a Gallery of the arts, the gallery will be the main hub of the Information group…”

He circled the building where the assassination group was, muttering “As for this one… I’ll tell old Bai to change it to just an outpost.” Zi Tian looked at the map and pointed at one of the crosses, asking “This?” Zi Yang replied, “Clothing shop.” waving his hand as though it was something trivial, adding “The style of these fools, I can’t understand it, how can it be comfortable? I will rebuild the store and rope in the guy who owns it into one of our people, after all, we need money…”

He paused and grinned “Speaking of which… We should even get a regular shop!” Zi Yang was immersed in his plans and even forgot that Zi Tian was there as he muttered to himself, circling and crossing various points on the map, he even started writing things down in a book.

Zi Tian watched his father and sighed in admiration.

What a hard working guy!

Evidently he didn’t care how many people were going to die from Zi Yang’s plans. Maybe a hundred? Maybe more? Who knew the exact number, but it wasn’t going to be low…
