Chapter 39 - Marco Frey

Chapter 39 - Marco Frey

Nathan immediately opened his eyes, wishing he could actually enter the Crescent Moon Dimension for free without waiting for the cooldown to be available. However, what he found was something completely different.

He was still in the same place with his original body.

Luna floated in front of him, chuckling at him.

Nathan sighed, slightly disappointed. What he expected was not quite what he got.

“So, for this reason, you chuckled and didn’t answer when I asked?”

Luna smiled at him. “Don’t worry, Master Nathan, even if you can’t cheat the Crescent Moon Dimension, you can at least make your golems easily rescued if they encounter danger.”

Nathan nodded and smiled. “I’ve gotten too many things up to now. I’m just too greedy, I guess?”

Nathan then stood up, patting the dust off his pants. “Okay, time for us to find a place to hide my body.”

Nathan raised his head and combed in all directions, only saying nothing for a few seconds.

“Have you thought of the best place to hide, Master?”

Nathan nodded slowly. “At first, I thought of looking for a cave, but I felt it would take some time to do so. Especially to find a cave that really fits my criteria. I need a cave that can really keep my body safe without the threat of any monsters that might come and endanger my life.”

He continued. “My second choice is…” he was still combing in all directions, looking up.

“I’ll find a high enough tree and put my body there.”

Nathan walked slowly, then jumped between the big roots sticking out from under the ground.

After some time exploring the forest, he stopped when he found a bigger and taller tree than the others.

He summoned his personal golem and ordered it to wait for quite a distance from him.

“Hmm… how am I supposed to climb this tall tree?”

Nathan looked up and shivered slightly, imagining that he would have to climb such a tall tree. He gulped and braced himself.

He walked to another tree and climbed from there. It didn’t take him long to do so, even though it was the first time he’d done it.

When he was at the very top of the tree, he jumped onto the branch of the previous tree. And climb back up from there.

He jumped between the branches of a large tree while maintaining his balance.

The grip of his hands and the agility of his feet were completely invisible if he had just regained the ability to walk after 10 years of disability.

In a few minutes, he was at the top of the tree, among the large branches perfect for resting his body there.

Nathan sighed, relieved. The gigantic tree he was currently in was about 60-70 meters tall. He wasn’t really sure about its height.

He looked around the forest, which was very clear from a height.

“If only there weren’t two people chasing me this time, maybe I could spend more time relaxing in this place.” He muttered softly.

Luna hovered near him, only silent, and smiled faintly at him.

“Okay, Luna, I think this place is safe enough for me to put my body here.”

Nathan then took out a large backpack from his inventory. He took a rope from there and tied himself to a nearby tree branch.

After ensuring his body was safe, he closed his eyes and transferred consciousness to his personal golem.

Nathan opened his eyes and again felt the weird sensation of transferring consciousness into his personal golem body. He was still trying to get used to it, moving, feeling nothing in his body except his vision.

He smiled, though it wasn’t visible from his wooden golem’s face. “Okay, I’m ready.”

He walked through the forest, trying to find monsters or even discover where the dungeon boss was.

“It’s troublesome when I can’t use all my skills.”

He just wandered aimlessly, hoping to find something out of his actions.

“Do I need to create a map-like skill or something?”

“I think that’s a pretty good idea. Such a skill would match the Treasure Hunter Class, Master.” Luna answered.

“Yeah, but I only have 3 skill slots left for now. I’m thinking about how to use those 3 skills to increase my fighting ability rapidly and be able to defeat the two people who are threatening my life right now.”

Nathan walked until he came to an open field with fewer trees.

He crouched down, hiding among the bushes.

In the distance, he saw a group of wild boars resting on the ground.

“Seven Wild Boars with an average of level 40?”

“Are you going to fight them all at once, Master?” Luna asked.

“No matter what, I must catch up as fast as possible to get to level 50. I will fulfill the requirements to register at CEHA. And I will also open access to tier 2 skills and the next quest of all route quests. Only this way, I can get a huge upgrade on myself.” Nathan turned to Luna. He tried to smile but was disappointed that he couldn’t do it with his golem body.

Nathan stood up and took out his black sword. He walked slowly towards the wild boar group, who slowly opened their eyes to realize something was interrupting their sleep.

“Fighting without worrying about anything happening to me. Why not?”

Nathan stood up straight.

All the Wild Boars woke up. They narrowed their eyes to face the plant monster, which instantly angered them.

Nathan raised his sword, which felt strange because its size was smaller than his hand.

He prepared, waiting for the monsters to make their move first.

All the monsters immediately rushed at him. At that very moment, Nathan felt a burst of excitement within him.

“I really just realized. The battle has a lot of excitement in it. I feel like I was really born to live such a life." He laughed loudly in his mind.

Marco and Zander were on the highest hill in the dungeon. A plain that rose high, like a lighthouse that allowed them to oversee most of the forest from where they stood.

Marco’s body lay on the ground while Zander stood upright with his telescope, trying to see what was happening in the distance.

What Zander saw through the telescope, and Marco saw through the eyes of his spirit beast, was a battle between a golem and a group of Wild Boars.

‘A golem?’ Marco thought, still watching with the eyes of his spirit beast.

His spirit beast was actually flying right above Nathan’s golem. He could clearly see how the golem was fighting agilely against the monsters.

‘A golem of this low tier, yet able to fight so agilely? I’m sure I’ve seen nothing like this before. A golem of this low tier was just a stupid puppet that needed its master to control them continuously at close range. However-’

With his spirit beast, Marco tried to find Nathan around the golem. Among the bushes, or trees, where he might be hiding.

He didn’t find the slightest sign of Nathan’s presence.

‘This golem looks like it’s being directly controlled by someone.’ He continued to observe as the golem managed to kill the Wild Boars one by one.

The golem fight with its agility and extremely proficient sword fighting style.

‘First, he has an Elite grade Spirit Beast. It’s something really, really amazing, and it’s rare or never that I’ve seen anyone have it at such a low level. The spirit beast that I have only has a Rare grade.

A monster of that high grade wouldn’t be easily defeated unless he got the spirit beast as a gift. This meant he had skills related to the Beast Tamer class or something similar.

Second, I heard from Muramoto that he fights with a sword and fire element. That meant he also used Magic stat. He probably had skills related to a magic sword.

While creating a golem requires the earth element, he also has an affinity for the fire element. Again, what a wonderful and annoying thing to know he had such a great blessing.

Third, he has very good stealth and escape skills. He could easily escape Zander’s surprise attack and run and hide even when I had recon skills far exceeding his level.

He was too slick for someone who fought using Magic stat. Does this mean he also has skills related to the assassin class?’

Marco was trying to deduce something from all his information about Nathan.

Fourth, he could create and control a golem with this exceptional ability. I’m pretty sure he controlled the golem remotely, using a remote possession skill or something.’

Marco was still monitoring the fight that the golem on the ground was doing, who had now killed four Wild Boars that, even though it fought with some difficulty, it could actually do without using such a flashy skill.

‘Nathan has a complete skill set and can use it according to all the situations he faces.

People as rich and talented as anything will be very difficult to buy and master all these skills in such a short time.

This amazing thing is only possible for special people, the chosen people. The people who are chosen by the gods. Is it possible that he is the holder of the sin?’

Marco felt a smack in his chest. He immediately returned to his body and found Zander kicking him, making him roll on the ground.

He tried to get up and saw Zander’s large figure sitting on a boulder, looking at him with a stiff face.

“Did you find out where that son of a bitch is?”

Marco shook his head slowly. “If I look at how the golem fights, it looks like it’s being controlled remotely using a skill like remote possession or something similar.”

Zander smiled, narrowing his eyes, then turned around and looked back at where the golem had gone.

Marco lifted himself up and closed his eyes, holding back the pain in his chest.

‘This bastard.’ He muttered inwardly.

‘Looking at what he’s doing, it looks like he’s enjoying what the golem was doing. His mood immediately improves. He was going to let Nathan continue clearing this dungeon, then kill him when he was about to exit the dungeon.’

Marco took a deep breath. ‘If I have to pay for that long with my fingers, I can’t seem to let that happen.’

Marco closed his eyes and then took another deep breath.
