Nathan only stared at the Skill Creation Window before him, not doing anything.
Luna tilted her head. “Master Nathan, is there anything I can help with?” She finally spoke after leaving him silent for a few minutes.
Nathan raised his face and looked at her blankly.
After some time, “There are a few things I’m thinking about.”
“Choosing what skill I want to create is more difficult than receiving it in finished form.” He clicked his tongue. “I mean, because there are so many options available, I have to think hard about ensuring the skills I create will be useful to me in the long run.”
Luna nodded. “May I know what you are thinking? I want to try to help.”
“Sure,” Nathan smiled. “I think that the Berserker Form skill, for now, is quite useful for me. I can fight better without losing consciousness because of my second skill too.”
“Therefore, I need a skill that can increase my stamina regeneration to make me stay on the berserker form longer.” He said, looking at Luna, hoping that she would be able to lighten what was burdening his mind.
“Then have you thought about what skill you would like to create next?”
“I was thinking about skills like Bloodlust Empowerment, Anger Empowerment,” Nathan said contemplatively. “However, I also think that I should avoid any other skills related to the Berserker class for now. I think it would be better if I could complete the Treasure Hunter quest first.”
“Yes, yes… I agree with your thoughts. The more classes you have unlocked, the more potential you will have too.” Luna grinned.
“However.” Nathan cut in. “Actually, I’m still thinking about why Treasure Hunter was the first one I got. When in fact, as you said, there were many artifacts in the Crescent Moon Dimension. I mean, I’m sure there’s a reason it was the first I got. Like, there’s something big I need to hunt with this kind of class.”
Nathan lowered his head, still looking thoughtful.
“I’m sad I couldn’t help answer that question.”
“And.” He lifted his face, with wrinkles visible on his forehead. “If I were to focus on the Treasure Hunter quest, the second thing I want to get is a detection skill. This is a very important skill which would make the hunting process easier for me.”
Luna nodded. “That’s right, Master Nathan. Detection skills will easily connect with the Treasure Hunter class. I think it will also be your best choice to create.”
Nathan smiled.
“Then, then… What else are you thinking?”
“Third, I need an assistant to help me collect monster cores from the monsters I killed,” Nathan smirked.
Luna chuckled at Nathan’s words. “Luna can understand why you would object to such a chore.”
Nathan clicked his tongue. “It’s not that I’m lazy...”
He then fell silent. “Or maybe that’s why. I am lazy.” He smiled widely.
“Tell me, Luna, what options do I have for my third problem?”
Luna smacked her lips with her index finger. “Hmm… There are several options that you can take. The first is the Spirit Beast. You can make a contract with Spirit Beast, then ask them to do that boring task for you.”
“Spirit Beasts?” Nathan raised his eyebrow.
“Yes, Spirit Beasts. Spirit is a race that includes subraces such as the Fae.” Luna explained.
“I see…”
“But of course, that can’t be done right now. Because… I’m sure that there are no Spirit Beasts in this dungeon.” Luna smiled widely.
“Then?”
“Second, Elemental Spirits. You have a maximum affinity for 4 types of basic elementals. This will make it easier for you to contract with the Spirits.”
“Wait a minute Luna.” Nathan cut in. “Isn’t the Spirit Race the holder of the Blessing of the Sin?”
“Exactly. Historically, a Spirit known as the Queen of Fae was the holder of The Blessing of Lust. And it has never been heard of the blessing changing hands since then.”
Nathan thought about Luna’s statement. “I think I’ll hold off on taking that option for now. Any other options, Luna-Sensei?”
Luna nodded vigorously. “Undead? You could become a Necromancer and ask the undead to do the job. However…”
This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
“However?”
“You need to have an affinity with Dark Element.” Luna chuckled, closing her explanation.
“Becoming a necromancer is too mainstream. Any other options?”
“Subordinate? You can make contracts with others and ask them to do it for you. Yes… Slavery… It is very suitable for you, who will become a powerful person in the future.” She grinned.
Nathan clicked his tongue. “What kind of person do you think I am?”
Luna chuckled.
“I think I can postpone that for now.” Nathan was silent, again looking thoughtful.
“Okay, Luna. I have decided what kind of skill I would like to create.”
Luna opened her mouth, looking amazed. “Finally. The time I have been waiting for.”
Nathan tapped the digital keyboard in front of him and typed a few words. And after several times of deleting and retyping, he was sure what he wanted to create. And-
“Okay, Luna, Create the skill Now!”

[Level 1: Activate the radar for 2s in a 5 meters radius.]
“Yeah…. A new skill… And congratulations, Master Nathan. The skill matches the Treasure Hunter Class.”
Nathan nodded. “If I can’t get an assistant to help me take the Monster Cores from the monsters I killed, then I would need a tool to detect whether the Monster Core is in the body of a dead monster or not. So I don’t have to waste time slicing through a rotten monster’s body just to find out the fact that there’s no Monster Core in there.”
“That’s a brilliant choice, Master Nathan.”
“Okay, Luna, let’s look at this skill at level 2.”
Luna nodded.
[Magic Detection Tier 1 leveled up to Level 2]
[Level 2: Activate the radar for 2s in a 10 meters radius.]
“Hmmm… 10 meters, I think, is a pretty safe distance for me at this low level.” Nathan nodded and smiled. “Okay, set the skill to max level.”
“All right.”

[Level 3: Continuously activate the radar for 2s with a 1s delay in a 10 meters radius.]

[Level 4: Continuously activate the radar for 2s with a 1s delay in a 20 meters radius.]
[…]
[Level 5: Unlock Always Active Mode, but exhaust more Stamina and Mana.]
Nathan noticed the barrage of information that appeared before him. “Yes… I think this is enough. Still, a skill at tier 1 really provides such a huge drawback to everything I want to get.” Nathan chuckled.
“Let’s see how far this system can hold my greediness.” Nathan smiled, narrowing his eyes.
“Woah…” Luna was dumbfounded, “You are slowly becoming more and more passionate about the sins you have, aren’t you?” She chuckled.
“Hmmm…” Nathan put his finger on the digital keyboard in front of him again.
Luna floated beside him, watching what the young man was typing. “Woah… This is so greedy… This is really beyond reasonable. Ahahahaha.”
Nathan unhesitatingly pressed the digital button in front of him.

“Master Nathan… What is this? Woah…. This is too much for me to handle… Whoaaaaaa….” Luna was hysterically excited as she looked at the new skill that Nathan had created.
“Considering you’re an AI that should understand more about this system, your response is too much, Luna.”
Nathan saw a digital meter appearing in the corner of his eye.
[Nathan Gardner]
[Greed Meter: 57%]
“Look. I’m trying to use my greed status to give me several skills I need at once.” Nathan tilted his head, looking at Luna with a proud smile. “I mean, the system gives me the Blessing of Greed, right? And it makes me more and more greedy as time goes by. I might as well make use of that natural boost in greed and create a skill that piggybacks on it. The more greedy the system makes me, the stronger I will become!”
“Woah! Master Nathan, that’s… Really smart!”
“Yes. I think that it’s pretty revolutionary too.” Nathan grinned.
“Isn’t this the same as you cheating the system?”
“I don’t know. Maybe?”
“This is really beyond the definition of greedy, ahahahaha.”
Nathan re-read the skill information he had just gotten.
“In Greed Meter 40%, this skill gives me an Acceleration skill that can make me move faster, even if only for a short time, but this skill is beneficial if I can use it at the right time.”
“Hummu… Hummu… I wonder what skill will be given by Greed Empowerment at level 2.”
“Why don’t we find it out together? Okay, Luna. Raise this skill to level 2.”
“All right.”
